Also to note that TNT then aired the short-lived one season spin-off, "Crusade", in 1999.

"Andromeda":

It originally was a Canadian show that aired on the Global TV Network, while airing in the US mainly on WGN syndicated.

The Sci-Fi Channel picked up the show during the middle of the fourth season and it continued for one more season.

"Andromeda" had a 5 season run from 2000-2005.

Here are some more:

‘The Goldbergs’ on CBS (1949-51) went to DUMONT (1952-53) then to NBC (1954)

This is in error. After the pee-out-of-terror action which was CBS' cancellation of the show in 1951, it was picked up by NBC in 1952 for a brief run in 15 minute format thrice a week. It was back on NBC during the summer of 1953 and expanded again to 30 minutes. The Du Mont run was in 1954. Even after all that, the Goldberg saga didn't end for good until after a season of first-run syndication.

‘Mission: Impossible’ on CBS (1966-1973) went to ABC (1988-90)
‘Columbo’ on NBC (1968-1978) went to ABC (1989-2003)
‘Futurama’ on FOX (1999-2003) went to COMEDY CENTRAL (2008-ongoing)

These examples (among others) really don't qualify in a thread about shows that changed networks during their run.

The long-running series "The Edge of Night" was originally on CBS from 1956-1975.

It moved to ABC from 1975-1984.
Along the same lines, the now-defunct soap opera Search For Tomorrow originally aired on CBS from 1951-1982. Then it aired on NBC from 1982-86.

To this day, I believe that SFT and EON are the only soap operas that have switched networks. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Throughout the long "Power Rangers" history, the only show to change networks during its run was "Power Rangers: Wild Force" in 2002

It was originally broadcast on the FOX Kids tv block from February - August 2002.

The series then moved to ABC Kids from September - November 2002 due to Disney buying FOX Family Worldwide.

I know we mentioned these but here's some more info from Wikipedia:

"Network change
In early 1997, CBS bought Family Matters and Step by Step for $40 million from ABC. ABC then promised to pay Miller-Boyett Productions $1.5 million per episode for a ninth and tenth season of Family Matters. However, tensions had risen between Miller-Boyett Productions and ABC's parent company, Disney. Miller-Boyett thought that they would not be big players on ABC after recently being bought up by Disney. So in turn Miller-Boyett Productions signed in the $40 million offer from CBS for both Family Matters and Step By Step to be renewed for a 22-episode season on CBS. CBS put Family Matters, along with Step By Step as a part of their new Friday line-up they called the "CBS Block Party". They put up the "CBS Block Party" against ABC's TGIF lineup, where the two series previously originated. CBS cancelled Family Matters and Step By Step after one season, along with the rest of the "Block Party" lineup."

22 episodes in each of their seasons = 44 episodes. $40 million divided by 44 episodes = (approximately) $909,090 and some odd cents for each episode in these shows last season. Quite a steep pricetag for the, arguably, "worser" episodes of these 2 shows don't you guys think?

"The Jeff Foxworthy Show" had one season on ABC (1995-1996).

The next season was on NBC (1996-1997).

I remember a funny promo for this when it was about to move to NBC. Jeff's older son (only son on ABC's version), played by Haley Joel Osment, asked Jeff "Where's Mom?". Jeff told him "She's being recast". That was a funny way for a promo to break the fourth wall. NBC also added Jonathan Lipnicki, hot off Jerry Maguire, as a younger son/brother.

I wonder what shows change to another network that made the show go longer. All I can think of My Three Sons. Wasn't it 5 years on CBS 1960-1965 then to ABC for 1965-1972.

Bachelor Father started on CBS in 1957, moved to NBC in 1959, and then moved to ABC in 1961.

I didn't wade thru this whole old thread, but Diff'rent Strokes ran 7 seasons on NBC, and moved to ABC for an abbreviated 8th season.
