View Full Version : A very rare episode Rezny@gmail.com 06-17-2010, 09:51 PM In the episode with Rose's sister Holly,it was very rare having Sophia (!)going to,of all people,Rose!(!)for advice.Rose:(shocked):"You're asking ME for advice?".Did Dorothy or Blanche ever go to Rose for advice? Rezny@gmail.com 06-18-2010, 04:39 PM And it was also unusual in that Rose gave Dortothy a Dorothy-like sarcsatic answer when Dorothy asked Rose a question. McGillicuddy 06-18-2010, 04:57 PM Wasn't that the episode where Sophia mixed up Dreyfuss, the dog with another St. Bernard? Well of course she's going to go to Rose. Who knows more about dogs than Betty White? But yeah, that is rare! DVDAddict 06-19-2010, 01:38 PM How about Rose hitting Dorothy with the newspaper? Although that was in Golden Palace though SueAnn_Rose 06-20-2010, 10:43 AM I laughed so hard when Rose hit Dorothy with the newspaper in GP that was hilarious. I hate this episode but it was a very rare thing to do but Sophia knew that Rose has more experience with dogs and she also knew that if she went to Dorothy she would say I told you so because she didn't want Sophia having the duties of taking care of Dryfus. But I can see why she went to Rose instead of Dorothy or Blanche. Rezny@gmail.com 06-26-2010, 01:42 PM And ANOTHER REALLY rare episode was the one when the girls befriended and took in that 16-year old girl whose father who also lived next-door to the girls kicked her out.It was really rare, because it was Dorothy(!)who told the St.Olaf story. And yes,he got just as impatient -more so--with Dorothy(but, like Rose ,she made him do the right thing)when Rose told the girls the St.Olaf stories. McGillicuddy 06-26-2010, 01:46 PM And ANOTHER REALLY rare episode was the one when the girls befriended and took in that 16-year old girl whose father who also lived next-door to the girls kicked her out.It was really rare, because it was Dorothy(!)who told the St.Olaf story. And yes,he got just as impatient -more so--with Dorothy(but, like Rose ,she made him do the right thing)when Rose told the girls the St.Olaf stories. The ending scene, when Dorothy came back and explained to the girls what happened after she told the St. Olaf story, (even though she didn't want to admit it) Rose was just beaming. Priceless! MikeLutton 07-16-2010, 11:12 AM what title was that episode from Dorothyfan1997 07-19-2010, 06:16 PM it was mary had a little lamb:cool: Rezny@gmail.com 09-28-2010, 06:56 PM And ANOTHER really rare episode was the one with Fidel ,who came between Blanche and Sophia ,especially at the end, dealing with the subplot of Rose seeing a U,F.O.and Dorothy not believing her-until the end, that is.The end was rare, because it usually final scene has Dorothy and Sophia. Not Dorothy and Rose(who saw the U.F.O.Again(!),but decided not to )like this one did. Rezny@gmail.com 10-01-2010, 11:46 AM Oops! I meant not to tell anybody the second time Rose saw the U.F.O.A couple of other rare episodes were the love-it or hate-it(I personally liked it)"Mister Teriffic"(Question:HOW did those 2 guys in the bar (the bartender and that other guy know Rose was a bit of a dimwit-Had they ever met her?).No sarcastic comments by Dorothy directed at Rose in this one.Or in that one where Rose went out with a guy who, unbeknownst to Rose, used her and dumped her(poor Rose)so he could get back together with his ex-wife.Dorothy's sarcastic remarks were only aimed at Blanche. Rezny@gmail.com 10-05-2010, 09:45 PM And in "Mister Teriffic",the ONLY sarcastic remaks were made by Sophia(at the very first, aimed at Rose),and later on,that little puppet made sarcastic remarks to Dorothy. And this was one of the rare episodes on "The Golden Girls"where Rose got mad at Dorothy. As did Mister Teriffic. They all happily made up,later.Love that scene towards the end, with Mister Teriffic and Rose (smiling happily)flying. Rezny@gmail.com 10-09-2010, 08:53 PM And a REALLY rare episode was the one where Blanche's Big Daddy(in this one,he was played by the late David Wayne)who was going to marry that Margaret gal,a younger woman, much to Blanche's dislike.Anyway, when Rose told the St.Olaf story about a man who married a younger woman and was met with ridicule and scorn,it was Blanche(!) not Dorothy or Sophia who got impatient with Rose. And the subplot about Rose and Dorothy(!)(usually,it's Rose and Blanche)teaming up to write a song about Miami. And the ending was great, when all 4 girls(at first it was Rose and Dorothy,(in a marvelous duet with Betty White and the late Bea Arthur)then Blanche and Sophia joined in.),gathered around the piano and sang their song. JR1 10-18-2010, 08:00 PM They played on this when Dorothy was seeing Eddie, and she asked Rose if Blanche was around, and Rose said no, and Dorothy goes, "I need someone to talk to." Rose replies something to the effect of, "Oh, I get it... you don't think I'm worldy or sophisticated enough..." :) |
