Chris Noth has admitted that he has some regrets about returning to Law & Order.

Noth appeared in the original show from 1990 to 1995 before reprising his role as Mike Logan for three seasons of Law & Order: Criminal Intent in 2005.

However, the actor has now revealed that he found working on the series too comfortable.

"I never really believed I fit in that show," he told Cigar Aficionado magazine. "I did it because the deal was so good and I didn't have to do every episode [and] Vince [D'Onofrio] needed a break."

Noth continued: "We did some good shows. We had a good crew and I liked the people. But I don't want to do something that's just comfort food. Those procedurals lull you into a certain state because they all look the same and they're death to the creative process for an actor."

Noth now stars alongside Julianna Margulies in The Good Wife.

I was still glad he came back. Mike Logan is one of my all-time fave L&O characters.

I really enjoyed his appearances on Law & Order: Criminal Intent, so I'm glad he returned.

I think his pairing with Jerry Orbach on the original L&O was the best cop pair (although I also liked the Noth/Sorvino pairing). I know I'm old school, but as far as the DAs went, my favorite group was Michael Moriarty/Richard Brooks/Steven Hill.

I was also glad to see him back in the role of Mike Logan. Until Jesse Martin came along, Chris Noth was the best looking of all the detectives LOL! That picture above just proves he hadn't lost his looks or "that look".

Mike Logan had so much intensity it was almost scary sometimes. I can't imagine anyone else but Chris Noth in the role. :D
