Glee Stars Beat Twilight To The Top Of The U.S. Album Charts

Team GLEE has beaten Team TWILIGHT to the top of the U.S. album charts.

The Glee cast's latest album, Journey to Regionals, has topped the new Billboard 200 countdown after edging out The Twilight Saga: Eclipse soundtrack by just 8,000 copies.

Journey to Regionals is the Glee cast's third number one.

Both soundtracks are expected to spend just one week in the spotlight as experts predict Drake's debut album, Thank Me Later, will rocket to the top of the charts next week (23Jun10) with more than 500,000 copes sold.

Back to the new chart and Christina Aguilera's new album Bionic debuts at three with 110,000 sales - disappointing when matched with the opening week of her last release, Back to Basics, in 2006, which shot to the top with 346,000 sales.

Jack Johnson's To The Sea drops to four on the countdown, while rapper Plies' Goon Affiliated debuts in fifth place to round out the top five.

Country star Dierks Bentley and singer/songwriter Jewel are also celebrating top 10 debuts - Bentley's Up On The Ridge enters the chart at nine, while Jewel's seventh top 10 album Sweet and Wild lands at 10 with just under 50,000 copies sold.
