Besides "The Andy Griffith Show" and "Matlock",do you remember THESE other roles played by Andy Griffith:1)Ash Robinson (for which he won an Emmy)in the TV-movie "Murder in Texas" 2)the murderous bigwig in "Murder in Coweta County"a TV-movie with the late Johnny Cash 3)junk dealer Harry Broderick of the short-lived ABC 1979 series "Salvage 1",or 4)the mean, corrupt judge Sullivan in 1985's NBC TV-movie "Crime of Innocence"with Ralph Waite?.

I don't think I've ever seen any of those. However, Andy had a memorable role on an episode of Hawaii Five-O as a small-time con artist who inadvertantly gets into bigger trouble.

One of my favorites was the 1974 ABC Movie of the Week Pray for the Wildcats which also starred William Shatner, Robert Reed , Angie Dickinson and Marjoe Gortner.

And he also played an alcoholic(!)in 1987's CBS TV-movie "Under the Influence",a very sinister grandfather in "Gramps",a 1990's(not sure what year in the 1990's)NBC-TV movie (he and co-star the late John Ritter jokingly called it "Grumpier Old Men" John Ritter said when Ritter was on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno),or the 2-part film "Fatal Vision",in which he played a lawyer(who,unfortunately,died-the character, not Andy Griffith),and led to his success as Matlock.

I remember his roles in "Murder in Coweta County" and Salvage 1. You
forgot to mention his role as Will Stockdale in the TV play "No Time for
Sergeants" (which even pre-dates the 1958 movie of the same name).

After ABC pulled the plug on Salvage-1's second season, they attempted another series vehicle for Andy Griffith the following summer. The Yeagers was set in Washington state and Andy was cast as Carroll Yeager, head of a logging and mining outfit.
It debuted in the same timeslot that vaporized Salvage-1: Sundays, 7-8ET. I have long thought that it aired exactly twice, but it's possible that it was only in the program listings twice. IMDB only lists one episode.

And remember the short-lived series for CBS that started out as a drama series about a teacher called "Headmaster"in 1970,that was dropped at midseason,AND became a comedy (also short-lived)called "The New Andy Griffith Show"?"Headmaster"was pretty good-"The New Andy Griffith Show"was just another run-of-the-mill comedy.Nothing special, and notg nearly as good as "The Andy Griffith Show".
