The Isabelle Stevenson Award is a special non-competitive Tony Award.

It is given to "an individual from the theatre community who has made a substantial contribution of volunteered time and effort on behalf of one or more humanitarian, social service or charitable organizations, regardless of whether such organizations relate to the theatre."

David Hyde Pierce got the award "for his work in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease."

I was almost crying with Kelsey Grammer when he got choked up. And DHP definitely deserved the award.

That's awesome! I've loved him ever since I saw him in "Sleepless In Seattle". I wish I could have seen him win this award.
