They really could've capitalized on the success of the Cosby Show if the Malcolm Jamal Warner sitcom 'Here & Now' were a spin-off of the "Theo" character instead of an entirely new character and surroundings.

View Full Version : Proof That NBC Was Stupid...Their 1992 Sitcom "Here & Now" Could've Been A Spin-off Brian Damage 06-13-2010, 07:49 PM They really could've capitalized on the success of the Cosby Show if the Malcolm Jamal Warner sitcom 'Here & Now' were a spin-off of the "Theo" character instead of an entirely new character and surroundings. Mr. Television 06-13-2010, 08:35 PM Yea I agree. The show was really about Theo in a community center. He just had a different name but he acted the same. He was doing the same thing that Theo was doing during the last year of the Cosby Show. I believe even Cosby was a producer of the show. I don't understand it either. catlover79 06-13-2010, 11:29 PM I don't even remember Here & Now.  Brian Damage 06-14-2010, 10:23 AM Yea I agree. If they had packaged it properly and made it into a spin-off called Theo or something...it probably would've lasted a lot longer than a cup of coffee. lol Will and Grace Fanatic 07-07-2010, 12:07 AM I'm not sure about that....my reason is that the cosby show's ratings had declined by the end of the series. So there wasn't much hope for a show being spun off from it. I think it was Saturday Night that led to a disaster-lol Even has Theo the show would have tanked because COPS was too hot to be stoppd 70s show watcher 07-31-2010, 05:06 AM i agree too i never understood why malcom just didnt continue as theo esp since the only new hit that nbc ended up having that season was mad about you this could have been a hit too or at least a modarate success and saved nbc from the near total wipeout that they had in the 92/93 season TVFactFan 07-31-2010, 06:17 AM i agree too i never understood why malcom just didnt continue as theo esp since the only new hit that nbc ended up having that season was mad about you this could have been a hit too or at least a modarate success and saved nbc from the near total wipeout that they had in the 92/93 season Probably because it would have been the Cosby Show without the other Huxtables-lol |
