So who here bought the dvd set, and what do you think of it? I bought it the day it came out! I love the "pre-Urkel" cold opens, I wish they used them on tv instead of the Urkel ones. We seem to get a few scenes that are edited out of both the abc family and nick at nite versions too.

I sure did my part and bought Season 1 the day after it was released!! I REALLY hope it's doing well enough to warrant Season 2!! Please, if you know anyone who enjoyed the show, or who has never seen it but might enjoy it I urge you to let those people know Season 1 has FINALLY been released on DVD! The more people that know it's finally out, the more copies will get sold-as with any series, strong sales of Season 1 are usually especially important and CAN decide the fate of the rest of a series coming to DVD. I've seen it happen too many times guys, shows that deserved to have their entire series runs come out didn't get that due to low sales. It's either the show doesn't do well enough to go beyond Season 1 or the studio brings out half of a series run and just gives up on it. I'm seeing a few shows right now that's happening to and I'm none too happy about it. That's why it's so SO important to get the word out about Season 1 of FM! Mr. Lacey at TVShowsOnDVD.com put the reality of this situation brilliantly, far better than I ever could in the "Summary" part of the review for the show on the site. I urge everyone here to read what he wrote because it's the downright truth.

I see shows come out on DVD that shock me they even got to DVD AT ALL and some of these shows get their entire series runs released..Family Matters really does deserve all of it's run to get out on DVD so please tell everyone you can it finally did get out :) If it doesn't do well enough here guys they won't continue to release it-no matter how much you beg or plead Warner to do so. NOW is your chance to show them you want the rest of the show to get out! Sales numbers are what will convince them. Not people saying well I'll pick it up later down the line. Sales numbers talk, good intentions to buy the show but not doing so won't. Later will be too late. I truly hope it doesn't meet the fate of incompletion. From what I'm seeing locally here in the South Suburbs of Chicago, it's fortunately selling QUITE well! A lot of stores have sold out of initial shipments so that's encouraging.

Season 1 is probably the worst season of the show's entire run. Parts of the first half of that first year I would even call dull but it NEEDS to sell to get to Season 2 which is where things really got going in my opinion.

Anyway, I wanted to add my 2 cents on how important it is Season 1 does well :) It's just 25 bucks everyone, what you get for the money is excellent quality and they did a good job with Season 1 so it's not one of the costlier shows to buy.

I agree, in my opinion season 1 is one of the better seasons even without Urkel in every episode. So did anyone else get it here?
