The BBC said it was a tough decision but the show has carried on after the deaths of Bill Owen and Kathy Staff with later additions to the cast of Brian Murphy and Russ Abbot. James28 08-17-2010, 05:40 PM The Last of the Summer Wine ran for 37 years. If a primetime network television series in the United States ran that long, it would have had around 880 episodes. By UK standards, it would have 295 episodes (A US primetime network TV series with that many episodes would run for 12 seasons). It's such a shame since it is a really good show. Still watching them Sunday nights on the PBS station. :) Marlies |
