Carmine "The Big Ragu" Ragusa was certainly talented. He could sing and dance, but could he carry his own show? The end of Lavern & Shirley looked like the beginning of Carmine. Would you have watched?

View Full Version : Would You Have Watched A Show Soley Centered on "The Big Ragu?" Brian Damage 06-12-2010, 10:42 PM Carmine "The Big Ragu" Ragusa was certainly talented. He could sing and dance, but could he carry his own show? The end of Lavern & Shirley looked like the beginning of Carmine. Would you have watched? Marvo301 06-12-2010, 10:54 PM If they did a show about Carmine where he was trying to balance a boxing career and running his own dance studio I would have watched it. catlover79 06-12-2010, 10:59 PM No - he needed Shirley!! Brian Damage 06-12-2010, 11:16 PM No - he needed Shirley!! So you felt without Shirley, there could be no Ragu? catlover79 06-12-2010, 11:32 PM So you felt without Shirley, there could be no Ragu? He wasn't the same without Shirley. In the end, he took all those cold showers for nothing!! Brian Damage 06-12-2010, 11:38 PM Interesting, I mean you would think if anyone could make that spinoff work it would be Gary Marshall. catlover79 06-12-2010, 11:40 PM Alas, we'll never know!! Brian Damage 06-12-2010, 11:49 PM Alas, we'll never know!! True, although I wonder if the L & S finale was a bust in the ratings? Marvo301 06-13-2010, 12:00 AM If they were going to spin off Carmine the perfect time to do it would have been when the girls moved to California. Instead of him following the girls out to California he could start his new post-Shirley life on a spin-off show. Agreed! biffbronson 06-14-2010, 08:18 PM As it was, since his character did make the move, my preference would have been that he get it on with Ronda Lee (Leslie Easterbrook) in his own series. WOOT-WOOT go for it, Big Ragoo! LOL... It would have been a natural, as both characters were show business oriented. I was a pretty big L & S fan so I definitely would have watched, especially if some of the old cast made appearances. Edited to change Ragu to Ragoo comedyfreak 06-15-2010, 08:33 AM I would have watched Lenny or Squiggy or both could have went with him. I would have watched. catlover79 06-15-2010, 11:25 AM I would have watched Lenny or Squiggy or both could have went with him. I would have watched. I would've watched a Lenny & Squiggy Show. :D Chocolate Moose 06-15-2010, 08:49 PM It wouldn't be too late to have such a show now; I'd watch it today, if it were on! TVFactFan 06-16-2010, 06:03 PM Only if Potsie Weber was on the show since he and Carmine went to highschool together-lol dlemond 06-17-2010, 10:40 PM Only if Potsie Weber was on the show since he and Carmine went to highschool together-lol I guess I'm missing something here, since Potsie went to high school with Richie and Ralph. I think Carmine would have definitely needed at least one other familiar character from the L&S /Happy Days world. What I don't understand is how there was never an attempt to spin off Lenny & Squiggy. Actually, a show with Carmine and Lenny & Squiggy would certainly have worked since Carmine would have brought a sense of normalcy. Unless L&S was over though, that would be taking a lot of characters for a spin-off. It was stated on L&S that Carmine went to the same highschool as Potsie Weber dlemond 06-17-2010, 10:58 PM It was stated on L&S that Carmine went to the same highschool as Potsie Weber Ok. I don't know if they were implying that they had both attended the same high school or if they were there at the same time. Obviously Carmine is older than Potsie and the guys, so he graduated before them. I think I'm looking way too deep into this. TVFactFan 06-17-2010, 11:33 PM Ok. So the writers of L&S must have made a mistake because Carmine supposedly went to Filmore High and Potsie went to Jefferson High |
