I heard that some judge says that Gary Coleman CANNOT be cremated UNTIL all this legal wrangling (over possession of his body, the wills)is over. And that could take months or even years.Isn't that absurd? What was that judge thinking?

It IS obsurd!
So what happens to his body for now? Isn't he under refrigeration or something?
Would he start to decompose and smell after a while?

It's being preserved in some manner you can bet on that. James Brown's body wasn't buried until several months after his death because of legal wranglings.

The same thing happened to Michael Jackson as well while his family members were arguing over where he should be buried. I read somewhere that Gary's body is being stored in a morgue so you can be sure it is being preserved.
