If you're old enough not to wear a bikini, you'll remember Harriet Nelson from the dear, departed days of radio as half of the Ozzie and Harriet team. If you're young enough for a miniskirt no bigger than a guest towel, you'll know her as Ricky Nelson's mother. Either way, she looks so smart and slim and self-possessed - like the prettiest den mother you ever saw - that I couldn't resist asking her how a woman who sees the years flying by can adjust herself to accept the evidences of time when she looks in the mirror.
Harriet laughed. "You forget that nature very considerately takes care of that problem for nearly all of us. If you can't stand what you see in the mirror, it's simple. Just look without your glasses!"
