I love John just as much as anyone else and he was the funniest sitcom actor in HISTORY but $14 million is just too much to be awarded in a malpractice suit when the medical staff did all and everything they could.

I understand that they didn't do a chest x-ray or MRI i.e. take the steps to make sure he wasn't having an aortic dissection BUT that's basically the same protocol that's followed all over the country.

John Ritter had already earned enough where he was very wealthy and even just a million dollars is more than many Americans will see during a LIFETIME of earnings! FOURTEEN times that is just too much especially considering John had already taken steps to take care of his family.
