VERMILION, Ohio -- 7-year-old boy is doing his part to help re-build a playground that was destroyed by an arsonist.

The playground at Vincent Elementary in Vermilion burned to the ground over the Memorial Day Weekend.

Now, seven year old Blade Hunter is trying to make sure it gets re-built.

Hunter, who just finished first grade, attended Vincent Elementary for kindergarten and he was devastated when he heard someone destroyed his former playground.

"I felt sad," Hunter said.

"It's like, you don't get to play on it."

So Blade decided to take action. He got out his piggy bank and started counting his pennies.

His grandmother says he'd been saving his money to buy a new bicycle, for about two years.

"He would save it from doing chores around the house, or getting his birthdays," Jeanene Tolson said.

Hunter donated a total of $100.00 to help build a new playground and he knows exactly how he wants the money spent!

"Get 1,000 slides, 1,000 swings and 1,000 monkey bars," Hunter said.

School officials say it will take approximately $60,000 to re-build the playground.

If you would like to help donate, you can send checks to the Clearview Board of Education, 4700 S. Broadway, Lorain, OH 44052.
