Just in time for its 25th anniversary, "Voltron", the memorable, classic cartoon from the 1980s is being reincarnated for a new generation of viewers.
According to Cynopsis, World Events Productions, in cooperation with Classic Media, will launch "Voltron Force", a new animated series that will air on NickToons starting in 2011.
The two companies, who were previously working on a live-action "Voltron" movie, will work with "Wolverine and the X-Men" producers Kickstart Productions to produce an edgier and modernized version of the giant robot and its handlers.
In addition to the 26-episode animated series, Classic Media and WEP will handling licensing for a series of new toys.
