:rip: I was just reading about him the other day!! He once wrote a beautiful song, "Dear Mr. Clapton", in response to Eric Clapton's "Tears in Heaven".

OMG, this is unbelievable!!! I used to listen to DeGarmo & Key's songs all the time during the 80's. They had this cool pop rock sound that was actually pretty decent for what passed for Christian rock during the early-mid 80's.
Songs like "Jericho", "Stella, This Ain't Hollywood", "That's the Way God Planned It", "Destined To Win", "Boycott Hell", "Six Six Six" (which caught a little flack for "violent" images in one image during the reign of the PMRC), and a number of other great ones. They even wrote a book defending Christian rock in the 80's and even had a sort of two-for-one album where you could buy one copy and give the freebie copy to friends to introduce them to their music and the Christian message.

It's also interesting to note that Dana Key was also a descendant of Francis Scott Key, who wrote "The Star-Spangled Banner", our national anthem. patriot:
