Gary Coleman's Ex -- I Can't Afford His Funeral
Originally posted Jun 3rd 2010 4:35 PM PDT by TMZ Staff
Gary Coleman's ex-wife had a passion ... for getting pampered and spending money in Las Vegas -- and now she's begging Gary's fans to help her with his funeral costs.
In an interview shot the day after Gary's death -- and obtained by TMZ -- Shannon Price talks an awful lot about money ... bragging that she "bought high-end stuff" during trips to Vegas.
Price also says she's hard up for cash now because Gary couldn't get life insurance -- due to his kidney condition.
Rezny@gmail.com 06-03-2010, 11:21 PM That's funny, because I heard on tonight's episode of "Entertainment Tonight"when they intervierwed Todd Bridges,he said that Gary said he didn't WANT a funeral.Anyone else watch ET tonight and see the interview with Todd Bridges?
catlover79 06-03-2010, 11:24 PM I heard that on the news. Just when you think this whole thing couldn't get any weirder, it does.

I agree!!

I was reading some comments on one of the newspaper boards and they were talking about how fast she pulled the plug. It hadn't even been 24 hours since Gary went in the coma. They were saying it would take them longer than that just to say goodbye. I don't know if she pushed him or anything in the kitchen but her actions afterward are very suspicious.

Extremely suspicious. Does anyone know if the police are doing any investigation?
gidgetgrape 06-04-2010, 12:08 AM I liked Gary, but I wouldn't donate a dime to this fool. I'm not trying to finance her next shopping spree.

Even if there is no funeral it still costs money for a burial and a headstone. And I think I know how Shannon could pay for that. She can sell all of her "high end stuff" to raise the money. After all it was Gary's money that paid for that stuff in the first place!

Exactly!! No one would know her from Eve if it wasn't for Gary.

I wouldn't, either - no way!
DSfan 06-04-2010, 03:03 AM I really don't like this woman. All of this seems too suspicious to me.
DON'T BE MAD AT ME but I feel like this was more likely what actually happened:
They were BOTH in the kitchen, had some sort of an argument, and his "wife" (why were they still living together if they were officially divorced?) proceeded to hit him with some sort of sharp kitchen utensil in the back of the head. This, clearly, would cause the amount of bleeding that led to his death :(
This is just one of my ideas of how he was bleeding so much. I realllyyyyy hope I'm wrong.

Seems as though some of the dirt is coming out of the wash. Dirty Laundry!
That might explain why there was always talk about Gary being or going so broke! He more than likely catered to her as though she was a queen. She was getting money and luxury "high-end-stuff" from him hand over fist!
This greedy, money-grubbing leech had become so blasted accustomed to being pampered and spoiled, living in the lap of luxuries! You guys called it right when you said that Gary was her meal ticket.
The luxuriously-appointed "high-end-stuff" that she so happily splurged on getting during their trips to Las Vegas could help pay for the funeral. As well as the vehicle that Gary bought for her.
But if she's that broke that she can't pay for the funeral, then what on earth is she doing still living in that house? Someone has to pay for it.
I've seen a very similar situation with my dear late brother. He, also, was married to a money-grubbing greedy controlling dominatrix! And just like Gary and Michael Jackson did, her mom had excluded her from her will because she saw how this control freak treated my brother and their two boys!
As the old saying goes, you don't mix your water until your well runs dry. Maybe she can make some money by singing the song; Don't it Always Seem to Go When you Don't know What You Got 'til it's Gone?. She needs to learn that.
I think that she only married Gary to greedily gain control of his assets. Money-hogging witch! Now it seems that her days of living high on the hog has come to a screeching halt!! Dosesn't she even have a job?!
I sometimes wonder if she set him up so that he would slip and fall in the kitchen to collect some insurance money from him.
Harmony233 06-04-2010, 07:33 AM I really can't stand this woman.TMZ has pictures of her just hours after Gary died smiling for the camera.

She'll have plenty of time in that now lonely house to think about how she used & abused Gary by only wanting him for what she can get out of him.
Misery loves company!! I think that she had a good man and didn't treat him right. As a matter of fact, I don't think that she will be able to stay in that house too much longer. Another mortgage payment is probably due about now.
Since she's so broke and can't pay for her late ex-husband's funeral and is appealing to Gary's fans for help, she might just as well go try to pawn off all of that luxuriously-appointed "high-end-stuff to pay for it!
Austin Tripper 06-04-2010, 08:59 AM I am not trying to be funny or mean or even make fun of anyone with brothers, sisters, parents or kids that have a mental issue.
But is Gary's Wife stupid? Does she have something wrong with her? Clearly something is up, but has anyone brought this up that she might have a real learning problem.
Gary for years was desperate for a girl, we saw him on star dates making a fool of himself. It seems like this is the only girl that finally said yes to him. But Im starting to think she isn't right in the head. But she can't help it.
Just strange comments about Gary buying her a car was the reason she got married or loved him?
The 911 Call.
It just seems when you press her to talk or answer she says something strange.

I have a friend who is also with a dominatrix.
He works his butt off, has been at his job for 23 years, pays all of the bils - yet she sits home and waits for him to bring home the dough so that she can suck up most of his money! Yet he luuuuuuvs her!!
And the saddest part of all about this strangely bazar love affair is that she doesn't even have a job or other income! He's with a broke greedy money-grubbing leech as well!!
But yes, Gary was a lonely young man looking for female companionship from about his early teens all the way into his adult life. He should have thrown THIS blood-sucking leech back into the water and continued searching.

Yeah.. totally!
If I was Gary's wife, I would hide quickly!!! Because the media will put a spotlight on her. I am not saying she killed him or anything like that.
Clearly something is mentially wrong with her and she needs to take advice and hide!! Asking for money from fans, I could only imagine what other greedy thoughts are rattling in that pea brain of hers.
This is all going to flip on her and quickly, you can feel the media wanting to do it. Every statement is starting to sound strange/stupid and she is going to get slammed for them.

I wouldn't mind helping Gary, but NOT HER!!
And since she is his ex-wife, if I try to help Gary, that would mean that I'm also trying to help HER.
Release Gary to his parents and let THEM take care of his arrangements.
Since Gary was at war with them for so long, I think that the fitting thing to do would be for them to give their son a very decent burial, and maybe THAT would bring some closure to their years-long estrangement between them and Gary.
It seems like the only fitting thing left to do, and they'd probably then feel at ease and this would probably break up the hatred that Gary had against them for all these years.
What do you guys think?

That comment about Muhammad Ali was very strange. I was shaking my head at that one. It seems like I wasn't the only one.

According to People magazine, Shannon Price says that her husband Gary Coleman "couldn't be saved" after suffering a brain hemorrhage.
When asked why she pulled the plug, Price said: "The doctors told us that even if they had done surgery on him, he would've died. He would've bled to death during the surgery. Even if they did take a chunk out of his brain, he would not be the same. He'd basically be like Muhammad Ali ..."
Tonight, fans of the former champion boxer are outraged by the insensitive comments directed toward Muhammad Ali.
Various entertainment and sports blogs are bustling with harsh comments from fans who resent Price having referenced Muhammad Ali in explaining how Gary Coleman's brain would no longer function properly if kept alive artificially.
Ali, now 68, is ravaged by the onset of Parkinson's disease.
For now, Shannon Price isn't apologizing for her comments about Ali, as captured on video by TMZ. She's too busy defending herself and her decision to take Gary Coleman off of life support.
"I don't want people to be so hard on me thinking I had to pull the plug too early. He wouldn't have made it anyway. His heart would've just given out. I don't want people to sit there and think I'm a bitch, and that I didn't care about him."
"A lot of people sit there and say, yeah, she pushed him. People are so cruel, they don't even know. I was upstairs, he was downstairs. How am I going to push him? Why would I want to hurt my husband, are you kidding?"
It should be noted, however, that Coleman, 42, and Price, 24, were legally divorced at the time of the actor's death.

I don't know. I guess it really doesn't matter who claims the body. Both parties aren't spotless. It's too bad Todd Bridges can't do it. He might be the only one looking out for Gary's interests.

What a cold cruel insenitive small-minded evil self-centered greedy leech SHE is!!

Very!!
Look at THIS one. If this one isn't convincing enough, then I don't know what is!!
Gary in the insert looks better than SHE does!

I think she brought Gary down.
She was not the right one for him, but as they say, live and learn.
And this is a strange one! If they were divorced, then what in the world were they doing still living together?

Everything about Gary and Shannon's relationship is strange. Not long after getting married they go on "Divorce Court" ostensibly to save their marriage. Then they go off quietly and get an incognito divorce yet they continue to live together, to sleep together, and Gary signs a paper giving Shannen the right to make life and death medical decisions on his behalf should he become incapacitated. Less than 2 years later Gary has an accident that leaves him incapacitated and within a day and a half Shannen pulls the plug. A Hollywood script writer couldn't write this stuff!

Technically, she doesn't have any more rights to him since they divorced long before he got sick and died. So she needs to just step out of the picture and let those in charge take care of Gary's last wishes.
When she divorced him, she automaticall terminatated all rights that she had over his arrangements, as they were no longer husband and wife. So she should just back off and leave it alone!
