View Full Version : The Bewitched Spinoff 'Tabitha' Brian Damage 06-01-2010, 11:16 PM Has anybody seen it? Was it any good? Did anybody guest star on it from 'Bewitched?' catlover79 06-01-2010, 11:33 PM I took the DVD set out of the library about 3 years ago. Lisa Hartman and Robert Urich were certainly charming and likeable on the show, but the show itself wasn't very good. It just wasn't very creative - they weren't doing anything that they hadn't done better on the original show. Bernard Fox (Dr. Bombay), George Tobias (Abner Kravitz), and Sandra Gould (Gladys Kravitz) reprised their roles in a couple of the episodes. Dick Wilson also showed up as - what else - The Drunk. Bill Asher also directed a couple of episodes. Hope that helps!!! old grouch 06-02-2010, 12:52 PM Lisa Hartman may be cute, but this show wasn't. It was a weird mish-mash of 'Bewitched' and 'The Mary Tyler Moore Show'. McGillicuddy 06-02-2010, 01:27 PM At this point, its a nice piece of nostalgia. I did like the return of Gladys and Abner, in the storyline with Nancy Kravitz. What they did with Adam was kind of weird. Was he mortal? I guess he was supposed to be the "Darrin" type. They needed more connections to the original series. They never explained how Minerva fit in to the family tree. Why didn't they have Tabitha play an identical cousin (easy way to have another character)? Why didn't they have more relatives? Maybe it could have gotten better if it had more time. catlover79 06-02-2010, 01:47 PM Robert Urich had already been written out of Soap by this point, right? I know he went right from Tabitha to VEGA$. gidgetgrape 06-02-2010, 02:27 PM I *tried* to like it, but I couldn't get into it. comedyfreak 06-03-2010, 05:48 AM I have the dvd and liked the show, granted it could have been done better though. catlover79 06-03-2010, 03:03 PM Here's the DVD box: |
