The thing that happened twice is that this show's very own Kari Michaelson performed on the same stage as the late Gary Coleman. As I am sure that most of you know, Gary's main claim to fame was his starring role in "Different Strokes". Well, I believe that it was shortly before "Gimme a Break!" came out that she had a one-time guest appearance on that show. She played Kimberly's friend who had gotten pregnent. I guess that it was her success in shows like this that made her able to sell herself the the studio that produced "Gimme a Break!". Now let us not forget that she not only got the part, but she beat out Helen Hunt for it! Now, in my opinion, anyone who can beat Helen Hunt at anything has got to have talent! In 1983, both shows were going strong. And both performers were so appreciated that they got to moonlight in a TV movie called "The Kid With the 2000 I.Q.. Do any of you remember this one? Gary played a gifted pre-teen going to college and Kari played a fellow student and romantic interest of his. That being said, let us now take a minute to remember the talented actor and great man that we just lost!
