So, I'm dealing with basically the same dumb situation again, but at least it's not bothering me as much this year. I was invited to Chrissy's son's second birthday party. She said that she was going to mail me an invitation. Then yesterday on the phone she said that the invitations are too expensive and they only have a limited number of them so she's not mailing me an invitation. She brought up what she expects people to buy her son Ky'eon. She's insisting on clothes instead of toys.

I'm not planning to go. I wasn't going to go even if she was going to mail me an invitation. I'm not buying her son gifts anymore. I just don't see the point of buying her gifts or her son and she doesn't treat me very well. You would think that she would like having a friend that she's known (me) since 1993. I'm not sure her friendship (if you can even call it that anymore) is worth it.

Here's the thread about what happened last year with her son's first birthday and before that when she was going to stop being friends with me because of her pregnancy. I never have understood why someone would do that. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/showthread.php?t=219558&highlight=Chrissy

You are too good for her Jenny. She's never sounded like a real friend. It sounds like she's dictating what you can buy. I'd tell her to take a hike. It isn't worth all the headaches.

What dakert said that Sonny said.

Jenny, Chrissy is rude; she's also a taker, and not a giver at all. She takes you and your good heart for granted. She's not appreciative of anything that you do for her or her son. I think you sort of stuck it out with her for the nostalgia and the good memories. I'm glad that you seem to be finally seeing her for what she is. You don't deserve her, and she certainly doesn't you.
