Who could blame him - after his parents, agents, managers, etc. treated him like a meal ticket? Especially since he had such horrible physical ailments. ohno:

Now word comes out that Gary was divorced at the time of his death - which meant his so-called wife may not have had the legal right to turn off his life support. Oy!!!!

... hope she wasn't getting the ultimate (ex?)wife's revenge for perceived (or actual) slights :| ... err, definitely joking here :| lol (sorry)... Anyway, I was sooo sad when I heard about Gary's death, and still am... I grew up watching Diff'rent Strokes, and loved Gary as 'Arnold Jackson'... So talented, adorable, and funny... I got very teary-eyed when I was reading about his death in a newspaper here, and then later that night, during a prayer of mine, I mentioned him, and actually started to cry (which I definitely didn't expect to happen, despite how sad I was feeling)... I remember being very sad when Dana Plato died, but I didn't 'feel' it as much as Gary's death... My mind actually can't believe 'Arnold Jackson' is no longer around... but my heart knows he isn't, except on screen... Thank you, Gary, for being a very happy part of my life, that I will never forget...

I don't know. Gary was adopted as a baby, and he was raised as an only child. Maybe his biological parents had more kids, who knows?
