Pretty good schedule, especially with Family Feud and Emeril. Still gotta catch that show. Some movies look good, although the schedule as a whole is still boring. I still miss the Ion days with Growing Pains, Perfect Strangers, Who's The Boss, etc. Maybe Hallmark can eventually become like that.

Are they having an upfront for the fall?

What a boring schedule....they're going to just sit with the same shows and those are going to run out of steam for them eventually. They need to be planning ahead.

^Agreed, very boring. They are gonna burn out GW and CM--just like they burned out any show that showed some ratings promise for them.

Maybe when the others do like TBS,ABC Family and so on.
Emeril on 7 Days a week would be good.

ION established new network all-time highs in the recently completed May Sweep, finishing with the following numbers:

ION May Sweep 2010: 0.7HH/1%, 0.3 A18-49, 960,000 P2+
ION May Sweep 2009: 0.4HH/1%, 0.1 A18-49, 530,000 P2+
Year-over-Year: +75% HH, +200% A18-49, +81% P2+

In A18-49s, ION ended up 10th amongst broadcasters, beating only the Spanish-language Azteca and Estrella networks.

In households, ION placed 8th, tying TeleMundo and beating TeleFutura by 0.2HH, the first time the mininet has tied/beaten those Spanish-language nets a May Sweep.

In P2+ viewers, ION finished 9th amongst broadcasters, beating TeleFutura for the first time ever.

I miss when Ion used to show The Wonder Years, Growing Pains, Alice and Mama's Family. It's now become just like any other network with a bunch of current, modern programming.

ION finished Week 36, the final week of the 2009-10 regular season, with a set of weekly numbers that were just a notch below rival mini-net The CW in A18-49s, and that tied The CW in households and P2+ viewers. These numbers are all the more remarkable in that The CW has roughly double the affiliate count of ION.

ION had a week 36 that was perfectly aligned to its season-to-date averages, finishing the regular season with its very first 0.3 A18-49 average and its first million-plus viewer regular season:

Week 36 (May.24-May.30, 2010)
ION 0.7HH/1%, 0.3 A18-49 (360,000), 1,010,000 P2+ viewers

Season-to-Date, Weeks 1-36 (Sep.21-May.30, 2010)
ION 0.7HH/1%, 0.3 A18-49 (390,000), 1,010,000 P2+ viewers

It looks like ION's summer season plans call for more of the same...highly-rated 'Criminal Minds' and 'NCIS' hours giving the netlet hefty Nielsens in the hours where they air. Still no upfront from the net on any changes planned for the fall season either.

ION TELEVISION INKS DEAL WITH WARNER BROS. DOMESTIC TELEVISION

DISTRIBUTION FOR ALL SEVEN SEASONS OF THE HIT PRIMETIME DRAMA

“WITHOUT A TRACE,” FROM JERRY BRUCKHEIMER TELEVISION

West Palm Beach, FL – June 14, 2010 -- With a focus on further building upon a primetime line-up that continues to show significant ratings growth, ION Television has acquired all seven seasons (160 episodes) of the hit crime drama “Without a Trace,” produced by Jerry Bruckheimer Television, via a deal with Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution. “Without a Trace” aired on the CBS Television Network until 2009. The announcement was made by Kristine Hunsinger, Senior Vice President, Planning, Scheduling and Acquisitions, ION Media Networks.

“The highly successful and critically acclaimed ‘Without a Trace’ has enjoyed a strong and consistent network following,” said Hunsinger. “This series is the perfect complement to our dynamic primetime line-up of hit off-network series, which already includes such favorites as ‘Criminal Minds,’ ‘Ghost Whisperer’ and ‘NCIS’.”

Set in New York City , “Without a Trace,” follows a special FBI task force known as the Missing Persons Squad, dedicated to finding missing persons by applying advanced psychological profiling techniques. They peel back layers of the victims’ lives and trace their whereabouts in an effort to discover whether they’ve been abducted, are missing by choice, were murdered, have committed suicide or are, very simply, accident victims. Using the vast resources of the bureau, the team, led by Agent Jack Malone (series star Anthony LaPaglia), races against time in the tight 72-hour window after a disappearance while hope for a recovery is still typically possible. The stories also focus on the personal lives of the team members, and illustrate how their different experiences give them insight—and sometimes emotional reactions --to certain cases.

The series stars Anthony LaPaglia (“Frasier,” “Summer of Sam”), who was nominated for an Emmy® Award and won a Golden Globe for his work as Jack Malone, Poppy Montgomery (“Blonde,” 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover”), Marianne Jean-Baptiste (“Secrets & Lies”), Enrique Murciano (“Traffic,” “Black Hawk Down”), Roselyn Sanchez (“The Game Plan,” “Rush Hour 2”) and Eric Close (“Now and Again,” “Taken”). “Without a Trace” is from Jerry Bruckheimer Television in association with CBS Television Studios and Warner Bros. Television. The series was executive produced by Jerry Bruckheimer (the “CSI” series, the upcoming “Chase,” and the “Pirates of the Caribbean” films), Jonathan Littman (the “ CSI ” series, the upcoming “Chase” and “The Whole Truth”), Hank Steinberg (“61*,” “RFK”), Greg Walker (“Smallville,” “The X-Files”), Jan Nash (“Ellen,” “Caroline in the City”), Ed Redlich (“The Practice,” “Felicity”) and David Amann (“The X-Files,” “Chicago Hope”), and was created by Steinberg.

I wonder whether the ION-Warner deal precludes broadcasts on Thursday night when 'Without a Trace' is skedded to air on MyNetworkTV this fall.

With this series acquisition being added to the current crimetime mix of 'NCIS' and 'Criminal Minds' together with 'Ghost Whisperer', ION is going to be virtually wall-to-wall CBS programs this fall aside from their rapidly disappearing movie nights.

If ION gives up their movie franchise this coming fall, this will be the first television season since the early sixties without a regularly scheduled movie night across one of the broadcast networks.

I cannot understand why Warner Television first syndicated two hours of 'Without a Trace' Thursdays at 8-10 pm on MyNetworkTV, and then allows ION to sked 'Without a Trace' Thursdays at 8-9 pm.

So far in their run of 'Ghost Whisperer' and 'Criminal Minds', ION has never aired their encores a the same time as the series were concurrently airing on the CBS Television Network.

This double-up of 'Without a Trace' on Thursdays from 8-9 pm can only lead to diminished numbers across both mininetworks.

Now that ION has 10 hours a week of 'Without a Trace' airing 7-9 pm Mondays to Fridays, MyNetworkTV should ask Warner to substitute another off-network series on Thursdays from 8-10 pm.

For the second week in a row, ION, with fewer than 100 affiliates, has soundly beaten The CW (which has over 200 affiliates giving it nationwide coverage) in households and P2+ viewers last week:

Week 38 Averages:
ION 0.8HH/1%, 0.3 A18-49 (420,000), 1,160,000 P2+ viewers
The CW 0.6HH/1%, 0.4 A18-49 (510,000), 930,000 P2+ viewers

ION should see a nice upward jolt to their Nielsens with the five weeknight stripping of 'Without a Trace' that begins in early July, and it is likely that the mininet will move ahead of the CW in A18-49s at that time for the duration of the summer season.

ION still needs to expand daytime and further move away from paid programming. The old starting point of noon (like PAX was) would be nice.
