CLEVELAND - A Cuyahoga County jury found a woman guilty of charges that she used her children to shoplift at a local department store.
37-year-old Amini Sanders-Fry was convicted of robbery, child endangering, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and possession of criminal tools.
Parma Police say surveillance cameras were rolling at the Macy's at Parmatown Mall last November, as Fry supervised the theft of merchandise by her ten-year-old daughter and eight-year-old son.
When the family was confronted by store security, they began to fight.
A 64-year-old woman, who was with the suspects, left the store and returned with her 37-year-old son who joined the melee.
The three adults were later arrested in the mall parking lot when they tried to flee.
As a result of the brawl during the act of shoplifting, they were charged with felony robbery.
The 64-year-old woman, identified as Diana Burton, and her son, Donald Curtis, later pleaded guilty to attempted robbery, and were each sentenced to one year in prison.
Amini Sanders-Fry could face up to eight years when she's sentenced on June 24th. She could also lose custody of her children.
