Older police procedurals are more black and white: the cops are good, the villians are obviously heinous or psychopaths. Unlike today where everything is grey and the heroes can be pretty ugly in shows like The Shield. Innocence is gone forever. greenlaser5555 05-06-2005, 09:39 AM Spenser: For Hire KonfusionFTC 11-29-2005, 01:29 PM 21 Jump Street The Shield Sledge Hammer LOL Zebra 3 11-29-2005, 04:30 PM - Adam-12 (http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/forumdisplay.php?f=433) - Baretta - Columbo (http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/forumdisplay.php?f=439) - Kojak (http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/forumdisplay.php?f=575) starring Telly Savalas - Night Heat - The Shield (http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/forumdisplay.php?f=523) - Starsky & Hutch (http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/forumdisplay.php?f=556) - SWAT (http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/forumdisplay.php?f=584) cpmaz 12-02-2005, 01:57 AM The Wire The Shield Hill St. Blues The Rockford Files Wiseguy Law and Order (especially SVU) cpmaz 12-02-2005, 02:03 AM Hill Street Blues and NYPD Blue and especially The Shield give a black eye and a bloody nose to honest and decent police officers all over america! The Untouchables: Really getting into this now. Stack is great! McMillan & Wife: Fan of Susan St. James The Streets of San Francisco: Another classic of the era. 77 Sunset Strip ~~ I will go with 77 Sunset Strip as my favorite. Love it, the most style of its era! Others I used to watch: Quincy ME, Baretta, Banacek, Columbo, Magnum PI, and Kojak. I would like to see Mannix again, as I don't remember it well. I grew up with all those old, classic 70s cop shows like Starsky & Hutch, SWAT, The Rookies, etc. We have been working on a parody of all the old cop shows, but I'm not sure if it's ok to post anything on it, or where that would be. It's not Fan Fiction- everything we've made up and written and shot is original. We've been doing short clips to intro the characters to people, in hopes we can dredge up fans and funds to do the feature film version, and then (fingers crossed) the series of half hour episodes to pay tribute to all the great episodes and series.
