Well it will all be over in a few hours. Is everybody ready for the big finale?

I am very anxious at it.

I've loved the show for years. I don't think any show in modern times has made me think and feel about very deep and personal issues like Lost has. And yet, like all finales, I worry a lot about disappointment. They've built it up so much that it's bound to be a let down in some ways. And I realize now that there are a lot of things that are just never going to be really answered; most will be hinted at, at least, but some (who was that in the cabin that Locke saw in Season 3, for instance? What was Walt's significance in the scheme of things? What was up with the inability of women to conceive on the island...? etc. etc.) will never be known for sure (though I'm sure there's lots of fans who will presume to know the answers, they are only guessing like the rest of us).

I will deeply miss these flawed yet ultimately human and identifiable characters. I want happy endings for them all (well maybe not Ben) but I fear many will not get them.

It's been imperfect, certainly. I think the creators made a good decision in announcing a specific end date; before that there was a time in Season 3 when it seemed like everyone was just hanging around on the beach waiting for something to happen and it was dragging a bit. But overall, this show has shown a mastery of writing, acting and producing (not to mention musical score) that I just am amazed at. It's been a complex, thoughtful, spiritual, soulful and deeply moving series that I'll never forget.

Wow what an episode. I thought it was excellent. I was hoping for a happier ending but it was nice to see all the old characters again. I wish Michael and Walt were on though.

No. They were all on the island. That's why they were having the flashbacks. Some of them died on the island and some later on. They never did say if Kate, James, Claire and the pilot made it to safety. That's one unanswered question. I guess one reason Walt might not have been on is because he actually made it off the island.

What an ending! Very moving and well made. The flash sideways was an "afterlife." Everything else on the show was real. Everyone died at some point, but we don't know when some died like Kate, Sawyer, Hurley, Claire, etc. They could have died soon after Jack died or years and years after Jack died. As Hurley said in the afterlife to Ben, "you were a good number two for such a long time." That indicated Hurley protected the island for years and years with sidekick Ben. When they all finally died (could be many years after Jack died), they met up in the afterlife. Michael wasn't there because he is still stuck on the island as a ghost whisperer. Very well written and suits the show well!

He didn't stab anybody. The Smoke monster did. Locke had died last year and the smoke monster used his body.

it was an OK ending - I didn't feel cheated or anything, but they still didn't answer some persistent questions.

I liked the "Bob Newhart" alternate ending on Jimmy Kimmel better though.

It was spooky and haunting all the same time. I cried at the end seeing Jack so alone and in pain watching the plane fly by. It was odd to see John walking with everyone else at the end. Most of the show he was on the island walking and in the wheelchair in flashforward/sideway scenes. I am somewhat glad the show is over. It was a mixed up show.

I enjoyed the ending a great deal. Still, I gave up trying to keep up with all the confusing storylines about two years ago. Even so, I enjoyed the show and the finale. Lost will go down in tv history as one of the best shows ever, a true classic. A lot of talent went into that show, with the great casting and acting, directing, the gorgeous music, etc. Farewell, Lost. It's been a great ride.

yes, that was a GREAT ending! (I was out when it was on, but I recorded it on my DVR and just watched it last night)

Now I'm thinking about renting the entire series.

While I liked many things about the last episode I have to say it was overall a disappointment.

I knew going on a lot of things were never going to be explained (the signficance of Walt, Libby's past, etc.) and I don't mind if some things are left up in the air, but many large questions like the island's not allowing pregnancies to come to term (in women that got pregnant on the island), the true nature of the relationship between Ben's "others" and Jacob, who the heck was in the cabin that Locke saw, and others made me feel a bit cheated. Some of the show's happenings didn't jive with it's own internal logic, either. Yes, I'm fine with inferring things to a point, but the show kind of pulled a "Heroes" when it seemed to assume that certain events and statement from the past would be forgotten by viewers, and they could contradict those elements later on. (I'm not trying to be coy here, I just don't want to make a six page post, lol; if anyone is interested in specifics, feel free to PM me). And while I don't need to know the answers to everything, I need to know that the WRITERS did, and there were times during Season Six I got the feeling they really didn't.

I thought the revelation of the alternate universe being a self-created limbo was kind of weak. Why did Juliet say "it worked" to Miles after she died if she was in a place where she didn't even realize she was dead, for instance? I'd much rather have had the alternate world be affected by the events in the "real world" and have Jack and the other survivors actions sort of "make" the alternate world the "real world" where they were aware of the two in the end. The "everybody's dead" thing was touching to be sure, but I wanted happy endings for the characters and we'll never know if most of them had one now.

Great acting, though, and some very emotional and truly moving moments. As I said above, there will never be another show like Lost. It always made me think and feel and really relate to its wide array of very human characters, and I will miss it like crazy.
