Following her Super Bowl Snickers fun, Saturday Night Live hosting gig and back-to-back movies, about the only thing missing from Betty White’s life was a hot new romance. But now she’s got that too!

The character Betty plays on her upcoming TV Land sitcom Hot in Cleveland, Elka Ostrovsky, will be romancing a younger man named Max (granted the guy’s younger by only two months).

Dick Van Dyke show comedy legend Carl Reiner has been cast to play the love interest, a role that could recur if sparks fly on screen. As for the possibility of sparks flying between the two longtime friends off screen, that’s rather unlikely. Carl, 88, is still mourning the 2008 death of his wife of 65 years, Estelle, while Betty, also 88, never got over losing her beloved husband, game show legend Allen Ludden, who passed away in 1981.

After the raunchy toasts Betty and Carl delivered on past Comedy Central Celebrity Roasts, I can’t wait to see these two swap barbs in Cleveland.

And something I DIDN'T know.On HLN's "The Joy Behar Show"Betty White was one of the guest,and said that her late husband Allen Ludden was in the service with Carl Reiner,and that Carl Reiner was Allen Ludden's captain.As she put it,Reiner was her "captain-in-law".Oh,in case you didn't know who Allen Ludden was,he was the host of "Password"(both CBS and ABC versions,),and until his death in 1981,NBC's "Password Plus".

Carl Reiner will be in the third episode of the season (June 30th), judging from the preview.

Tonight's episode was good. It was funny.
