Word has it that CBS was lukewarm on the pilot for the "Criminal Minds" spinoff, but the network is picking up the show anyway. Given that this is a format that clearly works for the network, and has star Forest Whitaker, it's not surprising the network would want another "CI" on its roster, at least for midseason.
