The Golden Palace was a spin off of The Golden Girls. The Golden Girls is how it all began and it starred Bea Arthur, Betty White, Rue McClanahan, and Estelle Getty. After 7 years of The Golden Girls, a spin off was made called The Golden Palace and it starred Betty White, Rue McClanahan, and Estelle Getty. Bea Arthur did make 2 guest appearances. The Golden Palace is whats left to get released on DVD so all of us fans can complete our Golden Girls collection. We managed to get all 7 seasons of The Golden Girls released on DVD and hopefully we can manage to get The Golden Palace released on DVD. On The Golden Palace, there is definitely more discussions left to be talked about and there is more cheesecake for the girls to eat. If it wasn't for The Golden Girls, The Golden Palace would not have been born. Please vote for The Golden Palace to get released on DVD in a season set on tvshowsondvd.com.

I was so mad that they recently announced the upcoming release of the complete series of The Golden Girls in "Sophia's purse", but no mention of anything happening with The Golden Palace .
Why don't they release GP at the same time?

Yeah I was disappointed. They should have included The Golden Palace with the complete series of The Golden Girls and also should have released The Golden Palace separately for the fans that only own the season sets of The Golden Girls. Let's hope that we hear some kind of announcement sometime this year 2011 for a DVD release of The Golden Palace.

I saw this series when they aired it on Lifetime I think for a month and I wasn't that impressed with it. The show just wasn't as good without Bea Arthur on there. She had a guest appearence in one of the episodes but without her on as main character anymore the show just lost so much appeal. I loved all of the GG but Dorothy was really my favorite among them all just because she was the glue that held the family together, she was the responsible one, the voice of reason and the " The Golden Palace" just wasn't "Golden" without her there to make it shine.

R.I.P :rip: Bea Arthur, Rue McClanahan and Estelle Getty. You will be forever missed.

The Golden Palace ran on Lifetime for about 2 months. I do agree the show wasn't as good without Bea Arthur. I still think the show was really good for a spin-off. Rose, Blanche, and Sophia still had their humor, they still told stories, and they still ate cheesecake. There are quite a few episodes that I did find funny and of course the 2 part episode of when Dorothy comes to visit was really good. I do hope to see The Golden Palace released on DVD so we can have more laughs from the funny girls. If you have not voted yet, please go to tvshowsondvd.com to vote.
