In Season 10, "American Idol" Will Get Shorter

Fox just announced its fall and midseason TV lineups for the 2010-11 season, and there's one change to "American Idol" that should leave some fans feeling ecstatic, and some feeling shortchanged.

Yes, the episodes will be getting shorter.

Tuesday performances shows will be 90 minutes long instead of the current two hours, and results nights will be -- brace yourselves -- 30 minutes, just like they used to be in the early days of "Idol".

30-minute results nights!

You know what this means: Less filler, less forced Seacrest banter, perhaps only one guest performer per night.

And could this also mean that the show -- being newly forced into efficiency -- won't keep running over, thereby causing the end of "Glee" to be cut off on our DVRs?

We can only hope. Unfortunately, however, even with half an hour less to air, we'll still be forced to endure those weekly Ford commercials.

it's ok, no one is going to watching anyway.

Glee has officially stolen this show's thunder.
