View Full Version : In one of the episodes with Dick York as Darrin
Rezny@gmail.com 05-15-2010, 01:06 AM There was a pie fight and Darrin threw a cream pie at Serena-but it hit Endora instead.Endora, wiping pie from her face, got REAL mad,and Darrin and Sam both had the look of fear in their eyes, both afraid of what Endora might do.My question is this:In the Dick Sargent as Darrin years, was there any episode where Darrin and Sam both had the look of fear on their face when Endora got REAL mad at them?
comedyfreak 05-15-2010, 08:33 AM From what I've read that seen you're talking about whomever was behind the camera throwing the pie which hit Serena and Endora was done with too much force it nearly knocked Serena's wig off and Endora's reaction was real. In the Dick Sargent years Endora was mad that Darrin used a hidden charm to control Endora with and they were scared.

the truth 05-19-2010, 12:49 PM Isn't that one of two episodes (that I'm aware of) where Darrin slaps Sam on the rear? :D
I couldn't believe they'd even allow that in the '60s. The other was the one where Serena's impersonating Sam to get a kiss from Darrin while Sam's outside seeing Louise off (That was no chick, that was my wife) and it was the final scene in the episode. Are there any other episodes where Darrin's slappin' booty that I'm not aware of? :D
catlover79 05-19-2010, 03:17 PM Darrin does indeed give Sam a slap on the behind in that episode, but in that case he thought she was Serena (just to get her goat).
biffbronson 05-19-2010, 06:59 PM That was certainly memorable... This was more of an adult series than most sitcoms of the era, I think, evidenced by the common social alcohol consumption in the episodes... So even though Bewitched tended to be family friendly, I don't know that such a slap should be too surprising.
What's more surprising to me are episodes of My Three Sons like "Stag at Bay" where Steve takes home a female performer in her cute, revealing little outfit, or "Robbie and the Showgirl" -- that was definitely considered an all-ages series, yet some mid-'60s eps were downright risque both in script and visuals...!
catlover79 05-19-2010, 08:37 PM Or like these lines:
(from the pilot)
Samantha: I just have to get this kitchen cleaned!
Darrin: Tomorrow.
Samantha: That's what you said last night.
(from Season 4's "No Zip in My Zap", after a disagreement, and Sam is levitating to get her powers back)
Darrin: How long will you have to do this?
Samantha: Tonight should do it.
Darrin: Well, I guess we can make up tomorrow night.
I'm surprised those lines got past the censors of the day myself!! Though I must admit, I loved that "sexy" saxophone music they always played.

Samantha had her Booty Called in
# 208 Samantha's Old Salem Trip" by Gerald York playing a Pilgram as she walked by his table.
The long time Bewitched extra had a big Grin going as his long time i am sure fantasy came to life at the tips of his outstretched fingers. ;)
Serena likewise had her Booty rearranged in
# 211 " The Corsican Cousins" when the Warlock Dancer played by Jerry Rush gave her Beatatious Booty a whack while on the dance floor.

biffbronson 05-23-2010, 09:34 AM I wanted to mention that one of the original Star Trek episodes from that very same period had a posterior-slap episode, if I'm remembering correctly. I think it was the "Charlie X" episode, where the young guy on the ship is not a "normal" passenger and does not know proper behavior -- and gives a slap or two very inappropriately to one of the lovely female crew members. (Those uniforms had very short skirts, I might add...!)
catlover79 06-30-2010, 09:22 PM Plus, all the feminists hadn't organized on a grand scale like they have now - no way would all those scenes go by so quietly now.
