DRAMA
“BODY OF PROOF”
Dr. Megan Hunt (Dana Delany) was in a class of her own, a brilliant neurosurgeon at the top of her game. But her world is turned upside down when a devastating car accident puts an end to her time in the operating room. Megan resumes her career as a medical examiner, determined to solve the puzzle of who or what killed the victims. Her instincts are sharp, but she’s developed a reputation for graying the lines of where her job ends and where the police department’s begins. It turns out her career isn’t the only thing that will need to be rebuilt; Megan’s family has taken a backseat to her ambition, and now she’s discovering there’s a lot of work to do when it comes to dissecting her relationships with the living.
Dana Delany stars as Dr. Megan Hunt, Jeri Ryan as Dr. Kate Murphy, Geoffrey Arend as Dr. Elliot Gross, John Carroll Lynch as Detective Bud Morris, Windell Middlebrooks as Dr. Curtis Brumfield, Nic Bishop as Peter Dunlap and Sonja Sohn as Detective Samantha Baker.
“Body of Proof” is from ABC Studios. Christopher Murphey wrote the pilot, which was directed by Nelson McCormick. Murphey and Matt Gross serve as executive producers.
“DETROIT 1-8-7”
What does it take to be a detective on America’s most dangerous streets? Get ready to be part of the action when a documentary crew rolls with some of Detroit’s finest, offering an insider’s glimpse behind the curtain of a Homicide Unit. The cameras unearth the crisis and revelation, heartbreak and heroism of these inner city cops -- moments of raw exposure when they address us directly, as well as private moments when they forget they’re being filmed.
There’s the damaged but driven Detective Louis Fitch, a wily homicide vet who is the most respected
-- and most misunderstood -- man in the division; Detective Damon Washington, Fitch’s new partner, who finds the first day on the job is a trial by fire, complicated by the imminent birth of his first child; Detective Ariana Sanchez, sexy, edgy and beautiful, who has emerged from a rough background to become a rising star in the department; Narcotics undercover cop John Stone, a streetwise smooth talker, clever and quick with a smile made for the movies, who is teamed with Sanchez -- a combustible pairing rife with conflict and sexual tension; Sergeant Jesse Longford, a 30-year veteran struggling with his impending retirement from the force and the city he loves, who, together with his partner, Detective Aman Mahajan -- a fully Americanized son of Indian immigrants -- form an amusing mismatch of experience and enthusiasm, intellect and instinct, old school and new world, but whose combined skills have never encountered a case that couldn’t be cleared; and all are headed by Lieutenant Maureen Mason, a strong-willed single mom struggling to balance home and work.
The men and women of Detroit Homicide are as smart and tough as they come. They have to be, working the neighborhoods of the once and future Motor City, a rebounding bastion of middle America still saddled with the highest murder rate in the country.
“Detroit 1-8-7” stars Michael Imperioli (“The Sopranos”) as Detective Louis Fitch, Jon Michael Hill as Detective Damon Washington, James McDaniel (“NYPD Blue”) as Sergeant Jesse Longford, Aisha Hinds (“True Blood”) as Lieutenant Maureen Mason, Natalie Martinez as Detective Ariana Sanchez, D.J. Cotrona as Detective John Stone and Shaun Majumder as Detective Aman Mahajan.
The series is produced by ABC Studios. The pilot was written by Jason Richman. Executive producers are Richman, David Hoberman, Todd Lieberman and David Zabel. Jeff Nachmanoff directed the pilot.
“MY GENERATION”
What a difference ten years can make. In 2000, a documentary crew follows a disparate group of high schoolers from Greenbelt High School in Austin, TX as they prepare for graduation, then revisits these former classmates ten years later as they return home to rediscover that just because they’re not where they planned doesn’t mean they’re not right where they need to be.
These students couldn't wait to graduate and head out into the real world. But the world they were entering got very real very fast. As these classmates return home to revisit their old hopes for their future, they'll discover that, even if you don't get exactly what you thought you wanted out of life, it’s not too late to get what you need.
“My Generation” stars Michael Stahl David as Steven, Kelli Garner as Dawn, Jaime King as Jacqueline, Keir O’Donnell as Kenneth, Sebastian Sozzi as Falcon, Mechad Brooks as Rolly, Anne Son as Caroline, Daniella Alonso as Brenda and Julian Morris as Anders.
“My Generation” was created and written by Noah Hawley (“The Unusuals,” “Bones”), who is also an executive producer, along with Warren Littlefield, Henrik Bastin, Patrick Magnasson and Martin Piersson. Craig Gillespie directed the pilot. The project is from ABC Studios.
“NO ORDINARY FAMILY”
The Powells are about to go from ordinary to extraordinary. After 16 years of marriage, Jim and Stephanie’s relationship lacks the spark it once had, and their family life now consists of balancing work and their two children, leaving little time for family bonding. During a family vacation set up by Jim in an attempt to reconnect, their plane crashes into the Amazon River. But this is where the fun starts for the Powells, as they soon discover that something’s not quite right. Each of them now possesses unique and distinct superpowers. But saving and savoring their family life will be equally important, as they try to find purpose for their new powers and embark on a journey to find out what defines and unifies them. The Powells are a totally relatable family who happen to be a little bit amazing.
Michael Chiklis (“The Shield”) stars as Jim Powell, Julie Benz (“Dexter”) as Stephanie Powell, Romany Malco (“The 40-Year-Old Virgin”) as George St. Cloud, Tate Donovan (“Damages”) as Mitch McCutcheon, Autumn Reeser as Katie Andrews, Christina Chang as Yvonne Cho, Kay Panabaker as Daphne Powell and Jimmy Bennett as JJ Powell.
The pilot was written and executive-produced by Jon Feldman. The series is executive-produced by Feldman, Greg Berlanti, Morgan Wandell and David Semel, who also directed the pilot. Joe Hartwick, Jr. serves as producer. “No Ordinary Family” is from ABC Studios.
“OFF THE MAP”
Executive producers Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers (“Grey's Anatomy,” “Private Practice”) and creator Jenna Bans (“Grey's Anatomy”) bring you an uplifting medical drama that explores how far you have to go to truly heal.
Welcome to “la ciudad de las estrellas” (the city of stars), a tiny town in the South American jungle which has one understaffed, under-stocked medical clinic. That’s where idealistic young Dr. Lily Brenner just landed, along with fellow doctors Mina Minard and Manny Diaz. All of these young doctors are running away from personal demons, but they aren’t the only ones with emotional baggage. Take the legendary and enigmatic Ben Keeton, who was the youngest Chief of Surgery at UCLA. He walked away from it all to found the clinic. Together with his right-hand doctor, Otis Cole, he’ll teach these newcomers how to save lives in the most challenging environment they’ve ever worked in.
In this ensemble drama, five doctors who have lost their way will go to the ends of the earth to try to remember the reasons why they wanted to become doctors in the first place.
“Off the Map” stars Martin Henderson as Ben Keeton, Caroline Dhavernas as Lily Brenner, Enrique Murciano as Manny Diaz, Mamie Gummer as Mina Minard, Jason George as Otis Cole, Valerie Cruz as Zita (Zee) and Jose Julian as Charlie.
“Off the Map” is executive-produced by Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers, and created/executive-produced by Jenna Bans. The series is from ABC Studios.
“THE WHOLE TRUTH”
This unique legal drama chronicles the way a case is built from the perspective of both the defense and prosecution. Showing each side equally keeps the audience guessing, shifting allegiances and opinions of guilt or innocence until the very final scene.
Kathryn Peale, the product of a New England background and a sheriff father, is the Deputy Bureau Chief in the New York State District Attorney's office. Jimmy Brogan, born and raised in Hell's Kitchen and a friend of Kathryn's since their days at Yale Law School, is one of New York's rising criminal attorney stars. Buoyed by their respective teams, these evenly matched lawyers — each with a strong streak of competitiveness, a fervent belief in their clients and an equally intense passion for the law — go about creating two different stories from the same set of facts. As this up-close, behind-the-scenes look at the legal process mirrors the excitement of a championship match, it becomes evident that truth has nothing to do with innocence or guilt — at the end of every trial, the only thing that matters is what the jury believes.
“The Whole Truth” stars Rob Morrow (“Numb3rs”) as Jimmy Brogan, Joely Richardson (“Nip/Tuck”) as Kathryn Peale, Eamonn Walker (“Oz”) as Sr. ADA Terrence “Edge” Edgecomb, Sean Wing as Chad Griffin, Anthony Ruivivar as Alejo Salazar and Christine Adams as Lena Boudreaux.
The series is produced by Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Jerry Bruckheimer Television and Warner Bros. Television. The pilot was written and co-executive produced by Tom Donaghy, and the executive producers are Jerry Bruckheimer and Jonathan Littman. Alex Graves was executive producer and director for the pilot, and KristieAnne Reed serves as a co-executive producer.
COMEDY
“BETTER TOGETHER”
Maddie and Ben have been dating for nine years. They know each other inside and out, a relationship marked by contentment and affection, seeing their commitment to one another as a “valid life choice,” something they proclaim often — and often loudly. Maddie’s younger sister, Mia, has been dating Casey for seven weeks. With a shared c’est la vie attitude, Mia and Casey are smitten with each other, and thrilled to explore the oh so many things they don’t know about each other yet. But when they announce they’re getting married and having a baby, it’s news that throws Maddie for a loop. Surprisingly, the girls’ parents, Vicky and Joel, couldn’t be more pleased. Married 35 years, they have recently adopted a carpe diem sort of philosophy, rather like Mia’s, maybe because they’re getting older and lost a good portion of their savings when the economy tanked. With three very different relationships tightly intertwined in one family, will it be free thinkers vs. over-thinkers, or will each couple begin to see things a little bit differently?
“Better Together” stars JoAnna Garcia as Mia, Jennifer Finnigan as Maddie, Josh Cooke as Ben, Jake Lacy as Casey, with Kurt Fuller as Joel and Debra Jo Rupp as Vicky.
The series is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Silver and Gold Productions and Warner Bros. Television. Shana Goldberg-Meehan is executive producer and writer. The pilot was directed by James Burrows.
“HAPPY ENDINGS”
Forget who gets to keep the ring – when a couple splits, the real question is, who gets to keep the friends? In this modern comedy, a couple’s break-up will complicate all of their friends’ lives and make everyone question their choices. When life throws you for a curve, hold on tight to the people you love. Every circle of friends has someone who’s the gravitational center. For years, perfect couple Dave and Alex drew their friends in and held them together. Now that they’ve split, does this group have the stuff to stay together? Or do Max, Brad, Jane and Penny have to choose sides? Suddenly every event is a negotiation… like, who gets to go on the annual ski trip? There are a lot of big questions to be answered, but this group has been together so long, somehow, little by little, they’ll figure out how to hold on, even though their center is split up. It helps that Dave and Alex have agreed to stay friends. But there will definitely be other complications down the road – like Penny’s long-suppressed feelings for Dave. What is the waiting period for dating a friend’s ex? This show isn’t afraid to ask the embarrassing personal questions that inevitably arise in every long-term, close-knit group of friends.
“Happy Endings” stars Elisha Cuthbert (“24”) as Alex, Eliza Coupe as Jane, Zachary Knighton as Dave, Adam Pally as Max, Damon Wayans, Jr. as Brad and Casey Wilson as Penny.

The compelling one-hour drama series is about a collection of five enmeshed and somewhat damaged adult siblings and their strong but passionately devoted mother, Nora Walker (Oscar and Emmy Award winner, Sally Field). The Walkers’ lives have not been without challenge; romance, parenting, illness, politics, divorce, infidelity, addiction, arrest, war and even death have pushed each of them to the limit, but they continue to work toward living their lives as individuals, while loving each other unconditionally and trying to maintain some semblance of normalcy after the loss and lies of their larger-than-life family patriarch, William Walker.

“CASTLE”
When viewers first met Richard Castle -- a famous mystery novelist and divorced father raising his teenage daughter, while being kept grounded by his Broadway diva mother -- he was creatively blocked. But when the NYPD questioned him in connection with a series of murders staged to imitate crime scenes from his books, Castle found inspiration in NYPD Detective Kate Beckett, a bright and aggressive homicide detective with a fascination for odd and offbeat cases stemming from the years-old unsolved murder of her own mother. Though they instantly clashed, sparks of another sort began to fly, leading both to danger and a hint of romance as Castle stepped in to help find the copycat killer. Once that initial case was solved, Castle and Beckett continued to investigate strange homicides in New York, combining Castle’s writer’s intuition and Beckett’s creative detective work. With Beckett as his muse, Castle used his newfound experience in the field as fodder for his latest novel and bestseller, Heat Wave.
During this past season, Castle and Beckett’s relationship has grown stronger as they’ve dodged bullets, captured killers, and solved countless murder cases in their unorthodox partnership. But by the Season Two finale, Beckett’s new relationship with a robbery detective has pushed Castle away, forcing them both to confront their feelings for one another. When Castle leaves to finish writing his second Nikki Heat novel, Naked Heat, Beckett has to watch him walk away, unable to express her true feelings and unsure whether he will return to the precinct.
The series stars Nathan Fillion as Richard Castle, Stana Katic as Detective Kate Beckett, Ruben Santiago-Hudson as NYPD Captain Roy Montgomery, Tamala Jones as Medical Examiner Lanie Parish, Jon Huertas as NYPD Detective Javier Esposito, Seamus Dever as NYPD Detective Kevin Ryan, Molly Quinn as Alexis Castle, with Susan Sullivan as Martha Rodgers.

From Shonda Rhimes, the Golden Globe®-winning creator of “Grey’s Anatomy,” comes a story about finding a way to begin the rest of your life. Renowned neonatal surgeon Addison Forbes Montgomery moved from Seattle to Los Angeles to reunite with old friends, Naomi and Sam Bennett, and join their medical practice, Oceanside Wellness Group. In the years since Addison’s arrival, the practice has undergone enormous changes, with financial turmoil and personal tragedies taking their toll; Naomi is now at the helm of the competition, Pacific Wellcare, and the doctors split down the middle between the two practices. Their bonds were further tested as friends ran into the unexpected arms -- and beds -- of others for support and comfort. Through it all, these tight knit doctors have worked together to find solutions to their patients’ needs, encountering medical cases that challenge their abilities and their ethical and moral ideals. Now they must deal with the biggest tragedy the practice has ever faced -- the death of one of their own, Dell. Frankie and husband Mike raise their kids with love and solid Midwestern practicality. Axl is the oldest, a teenage jock who eats the family out of house and home and walks around in his underwear. Then there’s Sue, their extraordinarily ordinary pre-teen daughter who fails at everything she tries with great gusto. Brick, the youngest son, is an odd kid whose best friend is his backpack. Together, they’re putting THE MIDDLE on the map.

This season the hit series will feature its 15th edition with the new Bachelor getting to know 25 women via a series of social gatherings and exotic, romantic dates – some in groups, some individually. He will introduce some of the women to his family and will visit their hometowns for a slice of their lives in an effort to determine the woman with whom he is most compatible. At the end of the journey, filled with drama and surprises, the Bachelor may quite possibly have found true love. But the big question is: After all of this, will he pop the question, and will she say yes?
“The Bachelor” is hosted by Chris Harrison and produced by Next Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Television. Mike Fleiss and Martin Hilton are executive producers.
“DANCING WITH THE STARS”
Hosted by Tom Bergeron (“America’s Funniest Home Videos”) and Season 7 champion Brooke Burke, “Dancing with the Stars” challenges celebrities from the worlds of Hollywood, sports and beyond to perform choreographed ballroom routines ranging from the Foxtrot to the Cha-cha-cha. Celebrities are paired with some of the top professional ballroom dancers in the world, and their live televised performances are judged by renowned ballroom judge Len Goodman and dancer/choreographers Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba.
“Dancing with the Stars” is the U.S. version of the international smash hit series, “Strictly Come Dancing.” This version is produced by BBC Worldwide Productions. Conrad Green serves as executive producer and Rob Wade is co-executive producer. Alex Rudzinski directs.
“EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION”
Put together one very run-down house, a deserving family, several opinionated designers, seven days and what do you get? The answer is “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.” Joining the series for Season 8 will be Jillian Harris (a successful designer for restaurants, residences, furniture and fashion who previously was featured as “The Bachelorette” in Season 5), Xzibit (a tireless performer in music, film and television) and Leigh Anne Tuohy (also a successful interior decorator, best known for being portrayed by Sandra Bullock in this year’s Oscar-winning film, “The Blind Side”). All three were “Get on the Bus” celebrity volunteers during Season 7 and were so incredibly moved by their experiences they asked to join the design team.
Each episode is self-contained and features a race against time on a project that would ordinarily take at least four months to achieve, involving a team of designers, contractors and several hundred volunteer workers who all have just seven days to totally rebuild and decorate an entire house – every single room, plus the exterior and landscaping. The result should be a decorator’s delight…if it can be done in time. And continuing for Season 8, “Get on the Bus” will feature more big-name celebrities as volunteers – last season, Mary J. Blige, Tyler Perry, David Cook, Usher, Jewel, Sheryl Crow, Christian Slater and Jessica Alba were among the many stars who helped out on the builds.
The show has won two Emmy Awards® for Outstanding Reality Program, plus two People’s Choice Awards, the Family Television Award for Best Alternative/Reality Program, an NAACP Award as Outstanding Reality Series, and a Service to American Leadership Award presented by The National Association of Broadcasters Education Foundation.
The returning designers include team leader Ty Pennington, with Paul DiMeo, Paige Hemmis, Michael Moloney, Ed Sanders, Tracy Hutson, Eduardo Xol and John Littlefield. “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” is produced by Endemol USA, a division of Endemol Holding. David Goldberg is Chairman, Endemol North America. The executive producers will be Brady Connell and George Verschoor.
“SUPERNANNY”
“Supernanny” kicks off its seventh season with Jo Frost criss-crossing America, taking on some of its toughest parenting challenges. She can tame the wildest toddler, soothe the savage six-year-old and get the most difficult child to overcome problems with behavior, sleep, mealtime, potty training and other challenges that have vexed parents around the world for centuries. The series debuted in America in early 2005 and captivated the country with Jo’s practical, no-nonsense style, honed over 20 years of nannying. “Supernanny” is now an international phenomenon; it airs in 172 territories, almost all of them with Frost as Supernanny. The series was nominated for a People’s Choice Award.
Nick Powell is the creator and executive producer of both the American and British versions of the show. Nick Emmerson and Stephanie Schwam are executive producers of the American version. “Supernanny” is produced by Shed Media US.
Pavan 05-18-2010, 08:52 AM Mr. Sunshine and Happy Endings may launch this fall still (possibly Wed at 10 if The Whole Truth is not recast in time).
Mr. Television 05-18-2010, 08:59 AM I don't really like that schedule. The one ABC show I was looking forward to was No Ordinary Family and they give it a death slot opposite NCIS and Glee. The other show I was interested in was the new Dana Delany show and they put that on Friday.Sunday night will just continue to deteriorate too. They are wasting an opportunity to launch new shows on that night while DH still has some life.
yankeesfan82 05-18-2010, 09:01 AM I read on another board that ABC wanted Old Christine since CBS was cancelling it. Any info on that?
Pavan 05-18-2010, 09:12 AM I'd rather have Body of Proof during the week rather than Friday. I like Tuesdays, I think No Ordinary Family will have its own audience (like V did in November). I hope we see Mr. Sunshine/Happy Endings instead of The Whole Truth on Wednesdays at 10 in Fall. The Whole Truth should be Fridays at 9 or mid-season. As for Better Together, it came out very good so I can see why it is in between The Middle and Modern Family. It's not a family sitcom, but its content is similar to The Middle/Modern Family that it will be TV PG.
V will likely air Tues @ 9 from Jan-Mar, while Shark Tank/Jamie Oliver/Wife Swap is in contention for mid-season with the renewed Supernanny. Off the Map will likely air Sundays at 10 after the Oscars.
I don't think ABC will get Old Christine.
Zedman2 05-18-2010, 09:47 AM ABC needed to improve Sunday and this schedules fails in that area. In Q4, due NFL football, NBC, CBS, and FOX most likely will finish ahead of ABC in the demo on a weekly basis. No Ordinary Family should have landed on Sunday at 8pm and Brothers & Sisters should have moved to Tuesdays. DWTS Results should have remained at 8pm where it could continue siphoning NCIS older fewers and keep that show in check. Now, with this schedule, No Ordinary Family is dead on arrival. V will have to launch in December and we have seen from the past three season how well those late Q4 launches go once DWTS ends its fall edition. Overall, the schedule isn't as strong as it could have been or as agressive as it needed to be.
icecream 05-18-2010, 10:17 AM I like The Middle and Better Together being paired, was hoping for that. Surprising ABC only has 2 hours of half hour comedies on the fall schedule. I was possibly interested in No Ordinary Family but there's no way I'm watching it against Glee. might check out Body of Proof, don't have anything currently on Fridays and it sounds similar to Crossing Jordan.

No Ordinary Family is D.O.A. I really wanted to watch it but I'll be watching NCIS and DVR'ing Glee. It goes up against The Biggest Loser too. That's the worse timeslot they could have gotten.
Pavan 05-18-2010, 10:40 AM No Ordinary Family won't be DOA. I think it will be a hit. Glee won't have the Idol support remember and NCIS doesn't go after this audience. You guys were all woried about V in November and it did well. I'm more worried about Wed at 10. I hope they go with the 2 new mid-season comedies at 10 instead. I would have put one new hour on Sundays, too, but I do understand that ABC Sunday was fine last fall. They'll add probably Off the Map in mid-season at 10pm that might shake things up.

I hear what you're saying, however, Sundays is now weak. DH will come back in the fall with numbers lower than this spring. I'm a fan of that show, however, it aired a very weak finale. I don't see viewers flocking back to it. Brothers & Sisters is basically in its final season. To order only 18 episodes and make budget cuts is a forshadowing of things to come. Football fueled schedules on the other networks will ensure ABC comes in fourth place in the demo during Q4 and that means a very weak Q1 next January when DH normally takes a dive, which it has done every year, of about 20% of its fall demo numbers. I think they missed an opportunity in launching a new show behind DH this fall.
Come late November, early December when V re-launches the HUT levels will go down and things won't look good for its return.
Brent88 05-18-2010, 12:18 PM This schedule is awful. Very disappointed.
Pavan 05-18-2010, 12:19 PM Zedman, agree with everything you're saying, but I thought the Desperate finale was great. I haven't heard any backlash on it? I think they are afraid B&S would not do as well on another night, especially for a show entering its 5th season and without Rob Lowe. I would have at least changed Sun 8PM in the fall with No Ordinary Family, but I think ABC might be afraid of the NFL, plus they already have two other dramas following. I still don't see a network with three dramas that are huge hits on the same night (CBS Tuesday maybe, but Good Wife is low 2s).
Pavan 05-18-2010, 12:24 PM CBS has canceled Old Christine and Ghost Whisperer. I can totally see ABC getting Ghost and airing it Fridays at 8 leading in to Body of Proof. Old Christine is not needed.
Superbowl 05-18-2010, 12:46 PM It sounds to me like Old Christine will be coming to ABC. It has been reported CBS turned down Warner Bros. over Old Christine because of financial considerations. Translation : They have a better offer from ABC. I look for Old Christine to be coming to ABC.
Pavan 05-18-2010, 01:18 PM Ghost Whisperer would come first over Old Christine (like it should be!) as they (ABC Studios) own the show:
From Variety -
"Ghost Whisperer" may still have a pulse.
The Jennifer Love Hewitt drama, just canceled by CBS, could potentially make its way to ABC's Friday night sked.
The show is a co-production between ABC Studios and CBS TV Studios, so a deal may be feasible in transferring the show from one sibling network to another.
And indeed, ABC scheduling chief Jeff Bader said that the network even toyed with the idea of "Ghost Whisperer" on Fridays at 8 p.m., should it become available.
"We talked a lot about it," Bader said. "It could make a good lead-in to 'Body of Proof.' "
The network will likely kick the tires on "Ghost Whisperer" starting tomorrow (as they're a tad preoccupied today, prepping for their afternoon upfront presentation).
It all comes down to economics -- and whether the net wants to divert some programming funds to pick up a CBS castoff. And there's also the issue of running two scripted dramas on Friday, where the net current has a reality series at 8 p.m. as a cost containment move.
But "Ghost" and star Hewitt may be too good an opportunity to pass up. And it may even make more sense than "The New Adventures of Old Christine."
ABC had a deal in place last year to pick up "Old Christine" if CBS dumped it. But this year, the Alphabet has a much healthier stable of laffers and doesn't necessarily need "Old Christine."
Nonetheless, ABC topper Steve McPherson said earlier this morning -- before he knew that the show was available -- that he'd be interested in looking at the property if it became up for grabs.
Brent88 05-18-2010, 01:19 PM Eh, just let Old Christine go, it's not that good and it's ratings are bad.
Now Ghost Whisperer on the other hand, this would be a huge pickup for ABC.
Superbowl 05-18-2010, 01:37 PM Ausiello says he is hearing 50-50 ABC picks up Old Christine.
Pavan 05-18-2010, 01:47 PM Ausiello is speculating. Ghost Whisperer news is more concrete as Jeff Bader (ABC scheduling) said it.
Superbowl 05-18-2010, 02:21 PM Ausiello is speculating. Ghost Whisperer news is more concrete as Jeff Bader (ABC scheduling) said it.
I hate to bring it up, but Ausiello had the Romantically Challenged cancellation days before everyone else. He does have good sources.
Pavan 05-18-2010, 02:51 PM And it wasn't canceled at that time. I know that for a fact. Aren't you the one who said CBS would renew Old Christine for 13 episodes? Deadline just reported Old Christine to ABC isn't likely going to happen.
In other news, Vanessa Williams is joining the cast of Desperate Housewives next season. Another "big name" as expected as well. Hopefully Alyssa Milano.
R.jsheedy 05-18-2010, 03:14 PM MONDAY
No Surpirse
TUESDAY
Big Surprise.... I was hoping for DWTS on @ 8 followed by comedies Mr. Sunshine and Cougar Town. I Guess ABC Didn't Want Another Comedy Block After All
WEDNESDAY
Hopeing for 2 new comedies here, or 1 new and old chirstine. But alot of reports are saying that old christine is highly unlikley to come to ABC because of High Costs To Lisence the Program.
THURSDAY
Hoping for V To get 8:00, But Whatevear.
FRIDAY
Big Surpirse... And where the hell did secrect millionaire come from... that was dead for almost 2 years and ABC Resurects it... That Is The Biggest Surprise Of This Hole Schedule

Big Surpirse... And where the hell did secrect millionaire come from... that was dead for almost 2 years and ABC Resurects it... That Is The Biggest Surprise Of This Hole Schedule
ABC announced the pickup a few months back.
Brent88 05-18-2010, 03:33 PM In other news, Vanessa Williams is joining the cast of Desperate Housewives next season. Another "big name" as expected as well. Hopefully Alyssa Milano.
Wow, that's a big get. Very happy as I'm really excited about DH next season.
R.jsheedy 05-18-2010, 03:44 PM ABC announced the pickup a few months back.
I nevar read anything on Secrect Millionaire.... But if they did anounce it a few mounths ago, i'll take your word for it...
JulieSomoski 05-18-2010, 03:57 PM VERY disappointed in this fall lineup. ABC was aggressive last year, so what happened? First off, Sundays should not have been left the same. Secret Millionaire on Fridays is weak, IMO, and having medical drama Body of Proof at 9pm will probably go the same route as Women's Murder Club, which was getting high 1s in the demo. Body of Proof looks too good to be wasting on Fridays. EM:HE could have been better used here.
But, if ABC gets Ghost Whisperer, it could work out to be a strong lineup for them. Personally, I don't think it'll happen, though. ABC could probably do just as well with Secret Millionaire at 8pm.
Meanwhile, No Ordinary Family should have been Sundays at 8pm. B&S Sundays at 10pm I can understand, but it would be illogical not to make it share the slot with On the Map. I have to agree with everyone here that NOF is DOA Tuesdays at 8pm. NCIS is CBS' top procedural. Glee is a demo powerhouse. TBL is still a strong performer. My Generation sounds good, very ABCish, so I'm hoping it does very well Thursdays at 8pm. I'll be tuning in.
And the comedies - 1 new comedy is not enough for fall. I'm hoping The Whole Truth isn't ready for fall so ABC can implant a third comedy hour at 10pm. It would probably do much better than The Whole Truth, which to me, sounds like just another legal drama. And if ABC does get Old Christine, which I'm still counting 50/50, then it will probably be held off for midseason, or possible December.
mtlguy 05-18-2010, 04:32 PM ABC would improve Body of Proof chances at some kind of success by a lot if they picked up Ghost Whisperer. Even for just one season so itcan bring some scripted viewers to ABC Fridays.
If Body of Proof gets high 1's like Julie said, ABC would be very happy. That is what Friday highest rated shows get right now.
Du Mont 05-18-2010, 04:33 PM Pavan, any indication from the Alphabet upfront as to their promo theme for the fall...will it be "Start Here" again, which has been used since the fall of 2007, or is something new in the works?
Also, last year ABC started teasering their fall shows (I remember the first teaser for 'Flash Forward' occuring during the 'Grey's Anatomy' finale) towards the end of the May Sweep. Do you know when we can expect to see the first fall promos popping up?
benjamoon 05-18-2010, 05:04 PM My thoughts:
Precursor: I think this is the worst schedule of the three, some very obvious missed opportunities by ABC, I was really disappointed as I love how aggressive they usually are with their schedule and sometimes it pays off (Comedy Weds last year)
MONDAY: 8:00 p.m. “Dancing with the Stars”
10:00 p.m. “Castle”
--- No surprise here and I don't think they should keep launching comedies at 9:30 that die quickly, so I'm ok with leaving this as is
TUESDAY: 8:00 p.m. “No Ordinary Family”
9:00 p.m. “Dancing with the Stars the Results Show”
10:00 p.m. “Detroit 1-8-7”
--- Baaaaaad move. Sending "No Ordinary Family" to the wolves is a bad idea for such a promising show. The older viewers will be watching NCIS, younger will be watching Glee, and everyone else "The Biggest Loser." It's a highly competitive timeslot that ABC had a share in with the DWTS results and now they've tossed that aside for a chance on a new show, even a promising one. 9pm would have been a lot better to launch a new show (or comedies as I had hoped) because CBS will either have the weaker (not by much) NCIS: LA and FOX will have the comedies which could definitely fail. "No Ordinary Family" seemed so obvious for Sun at 8pm
WEDNESDAY: 8:00 p.m. “The Middle”
8:30 p.m. “Better Together”
9:00 p.m. “Modern Family”
9:30 p.m. “Cougar Town”
10:00 p.m. “The Whole Truth”
--- Ehhhh disappointing again. The only think I like about this is putting "The Middle" on to anchor the night and leaving "Modern Family" as is. I know ABC was somewhat disappointed in its comedy development but "Better Together" doesn't sound like a great fit (could have worked at 9:30pm maybe) and "Cougar Town" does not deserve the post MF slot anymore, it loses SO much of the audience. Also, "The Whole Truth" at 10pm sounds like it won't do any better than Eastwick, Happy Town, or Ugly Betty. I didn't think they'd put comedies there but I wasn't against them trying, or at least a more promising drama
THURSDAY: 8:00 p.m. “My Generation”
9:00 p.m. “Grey’s Anatomy”
10:00 p.m. “Private Practice”
--- No surprises here. I'm not sure about "My Generation"'s chances, but something has to work at this 8pm timeslot sometime, right?
FRIDAY: 8:00 p.m. “Secret Millionaire”
9:00 p.m. “Body of Proof”
10:00 p.m. “20/20”
--- I like that ABC is doing scripted stuff on Fri along with NBC and Fox and most certainly CBS. "Ghost Whisperer" at 8 wouldn't be bad either. I still worry for their chance at success but props to all the networks for not throwing in the towel on Friday
SATURDAY: 8:00 p.m. “Saturday Night College Football”
--- No surprise. CBS is the only network that I feel should try to get back in the Saturday game right now
SUNDAY: 7:00 p.m. “America’s Funniest Home Videos”
8:00 p.m. “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”
9:00 p.m. “Desperate Housewives”
10:00 p.m. “Brothers & Sisters”
--- Huge disappointment for a DYING lineup. "No Ordinary Family" would have been great at 8pm and B&S could have gone to Weds 10pm so ABC would let a new drama have a chance after DH (although I do realize "Off the Map" comes on in the Spring at some point possibly here). It's sort of like "30 Rock" on NBC. "Brothers & Sisters" has worn out its welcome in this cushy timeslot, time for another show to get a chance!
TO SUM UP:
Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays to be expected, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Sundays a disappointment. Props for trying on Friday
Best Chance for Success: Better Together, Body of Proof (lower expectations for Fri)
Most Likely to Fail: The Whole Truth
Most Appealing New Drama: No Ordinary Family
Most Appealing New Comedy: Mr. Sunshine
Brent88 05-18-2010, 05:11 PM I am really disappointed at this.
Likes:
Mondays remaining the same, if it works, don't break it.
Tuesdays: Flip NOF and DWTS for starters, although I think NOF should have went to Sundays and BOP with 187 here. Perfect lineup, but not to be.
Wednesdays: Weak, Mr. Sunshine should be on the schedule, real letdown there. The Whole Truth at 10 is DOA, should have been another comedy hour or B&S.
Thursdays: Not sure about My Generation, seems like an odd fit for this night. 9-11 is solid.
Fridays... don't like. EM: HE should have moved here, leading into Secret Millionaire or some reality. BOP is in a horrible timeslot.
Sundays... the biggest WTF to me, that NOTHING changed. I would have put NOF at 8 and Off the Map at 10. B&S needs to move out of this prime timeslot it doesn't deserve anymore and DH needs to launch a new show while it still can. Plus this night as a whole needs new blood BADLY.
GolfDude 05-18-2010, 05:25 PM Wheres Shark Tank?
Pavan 05-18-2010, 05:56 PM Read the notes on the blog regarding Shark Tank and others. They are in contention still. http://blog.sitcomsonline.com/2010/05/abc-upfront-2010-11-fall-2010-schedule.html
Here is the recap of ABC's upfront presentation:
4PM ET
- Ah the music from ABC Music Lounge before the start of upfront.
- Nice clip montage for ABC this past season to kick-off the presentation!
- President of ABC Television Group Anne Sweeney to kick off upfront as usual
- Praise for ESPN, ABCNews, ABC Daytime, Walt Disney Company...TV still platform to reach millions of Americans; ABC iPad App.
- LOL new ABC Sales lead Geri Wang running the Wipeout course! The hosts are hosting, too!
- Then Wang comes for her presentation. Wang mentions the different platforms to watch ABC shows again, "Delivering consumers not just viewers."
- Then another clip montage...really good. These should be on abc.com for everyone to see... they are awesome!
- Now the President of ABC Entertainment Steve McPherson...he says there are more TV's in a household than people lol.
- "Passion. Vision. A Plan." is needed to succeed.
- McPherson: Attack 10pm. More comedy. Event television was the strategy for next season.
- Mr. Sunshine and Happy Endings WILL air in the fall out of Modern Family and Dancing with the Stars. Want to have comedies outside of Wed.
- Comedy Wednesday now Laugh On Wednesday? Saw a logo for that on screen, hmmm.
- So attack 10pm (Detroit 1-8-7 and Whole Truth), more comedy (3 of them) and event television (No Ordinary Family, My Generation)
- Off the Map will be airing out of Desperate Housewives "this January." (does this mean Brothers & Sisters returns in spring while OTM airs in winter?)
- Attack 10pm clips: Detroit 1-8-7 (looks decent in old NYPD Blue slot) and Whole Truth (the entire truth will be revealed at the end of ep)
- Whole Truth looks at two sides of the story - from the defense and prosecution. This looks 1000x better than the forgotten.
- If they can get a big name to replace Joely Richardson, maybe Whole Truth works. Feel a bit better after seeing the clip, but not great.
- Off the Map clip is next, looks good. Especially if you like Grey's and Private. Doesn't seem as intense as those yet.
- Body of Proof clip was next, it looks good. I hope Ghost Whisperer is its lead-in. If not, this should be on during the week instead of Friday.
- Matthew Fox from LOST introduces the two event television series: No Ordinary Family and My Generation
- BUT before that...a LOST interview montage from the cast about their experiences from the show.
- No Ordinary Family clip. Two words: Julie. Benz. She looks great in it! Can't wait for this show! Chiklis was great on ABC's The Commish years ago.
- Now a clip of My Generation..we travel back to 2000 to a group of high school teens and what they are doing today. It's documentary style. Hope this is good.
- Jimmy Kimmel Live's creative sponsorship montage is next. You deliver the goods, we deliver the funny.
- And here's Jimmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmy!
- Kimmel takes stabs at NBC and Fox, especially NBC lol. Good stuff.
- Kimmel's post Super Bowl joke for GLEE, hilarious! Drunk 43 year old's will say "WTF is this!"
- Kimmel calling V, "five." LOL.
- Kimmel says watching LOST is like what is happening inside Paula Abdul's brain, lol.
- Modern Family montage next! Then Cast of Modern Family on stage to introdce the new comedies!
- But it's just all of the adults but Ty Burrell it seems. No Phil Dunphy yo.
- Now the new comedy clips...first up Better Together -- looks hilarious.
Better Together could work in between The Middle and Modern Family, it has family elements
- Now clips of the comedies that "will air sometime in the fall" - Mr. Sunshine and Happy Endings
- Mr. Sunshine starring Matthew Perry - need to see the full episode, looks like a show that needs to be seen in full to understand what the clips mean. Allison Janney and Andrea Anders seemed great in it.
- Happy Endings seems in the same vein as Cougar Town. ABC should so go for 10pm hour comedies on Wed.
- And finally, McPherson and Sofia Vergara close the upfront out.
- Thanks for reading the ABC upfront tweets. Hope they were useful. I'll post the tweets on the msg board soon. Stay tuned tomorrow for CBS!

KISSELL ON ABC: 8 p.m. looks good; 10 p.m., not so much
Here's Variety ratings guru Rick Kissell's take on ABC's new schedule:
ABC appears to be treating the fall like an extension of the current season — rather than ripping up nights that are working well enough and moving programs around the sked, it has opted to simply fill its weakest hours with new shows. This will be helpful in marketing, because when you're recruiting audiences for seven new shows, you don't want to also have to train them to watch some favorite returnees on different nights.
It's also apparent that while NBC addressed its glaring 10 p.m. needs most, ABC took the opposite approach and is putting its best product in the 8 o'clock hour.
The choice of the good-looking "No Ordinary Family" for Tuesday at 8 was something of a surprise (I had thought Sunday), but the net must believe the show has true young-male appeal that can hold up well opposite Fox's "Glee" (in the fall) and "American Idol" (at midseason).
"Generation Y" looks good on paper, but is a tough show to pull off, and its documentary style could take some time to get used to. If it doesn't work, the net has several other midseason options, including going with a pair of comedies.
Speaking of comedy, perhaps the biggest disappointment related to ABC's fall schedule is what's not on it: a loud, high-profile "8 Simple Rules"-type family comedy to kick off Wednesday leading into "The Middle" and "Modern Family." But "Better Together," with its focus on three couples in the same family, could be a good meshing of romantic and familial storylines, and is well-positioned between "The Middle" (moved down to 8 p.m.) and "Modern Family."
The net's midweek 10 p.m. dramas don't look like anything special, but "Detroit 1-8-7" is at least a fresh look (and fresh locale) for a cop show. But there's nothing about legal drama "The Whole Truth" — including its generic title — that could get me to tune in. I would have rather seen Shonda Rhimes' medical newbie "Off the Map" in either of these 10 p.m. slots.
Friday sees a pair of new shows that should keep the net competitive. The uplifting nature of "Secret Millionaire" makes it a good choice for 8 o'clock, although it's facing a similar-appeal show on NBC ("Who Do You Think You Are"?), and Dana Delany crime procedural "Body of Proof" is the kind of default program that could work Fridays at 9 — although the net struck out here with its last femme-fronted crime show, "Women's Murder Club."
Overall, I like the skedding of the four new shows in the 8 o'clock hours, but the ones later in the evening... not so much. And it makes sense for "V" to hold for midseason, as it would make for a good replacement for the "Dancing With the Stars" results show Tuesday at 9, where it would follow "No Ordinary Family."
The best news to come out of ABC on the day, though, was the announcement of Vanessa Williams joining the case of "Desperate Housewives." She should fit right in, perhaps even playing her "Ugly Betty" character, Wilhemina Slater... Go Wisteria Willy!
Pavan 05-18-2010, 10:49 PM DuMont, they added last minute promos during LOST today for new fall series. 5 second spots for No Ordinary Family and Detroit 1-8-7 aired.
Three more 5 second spots will premiere on Thursday during the Grey's finale: My Generation, Body of Proof and The Whole Truth.
TVgeek14 05-19-2010, 04:53 AM Time to review ABC Trailers.
Better Together - This could be good. Love the casting in this and the jokes are very good. So hopefully despite it being Multi Camera (I think they are getting outdated) i think this may work.
Body Of Proof - While i like Dana`s character, there isn`t that much there. I just thought the characters were stiff and it would just be another one of those Medical Dramas.
Detroit 187 - WOW. I did not like this at all. Shaky Camera and Characters with no personality. But i like the casting.
Happy Endings - Its pretty good. Elisha Cuthbert & That girl from Scrubs is in it so i`ll give it a try.
Mr Sunshine - Its pretty good too. Perry gives his usual sarcastic performance which i always love and Andrea Anders is in it and i like her as well.I`ll gonna give this a shot as well
My Generation - INTERESTING idea. Like the idea, characters and how that they change over 10 years. Its very nostalgic and may affect a lot of people out there who share the same experience of changing after a decade.
No Ordinary Family - Julie Benz + Michael Chiklas = Success
Off The Map - Boring.Dull Characters and Dull Premise. Anything with Shinda Ripes or whatever her name is,justs SUCKS.
The Whole Truth - Its pretty good, but i do find Legal Dramas terribly dull and this had a mixed bag.

2010 American Music Awards
Sunday, November 21, 2010
8-11pm ET
"With a performer-list which read like a who's-who of the music industry, the show – which took place at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles – most definitely hit a home-run in terms of star power." – thatgrapejuice.net

More than 33 million viewers tuned in to watch some, or all, of the broadcast – and that's music to advertisers.

With absolutely no holiday cheer, the St. Nick imposter blasts off to Whoville to steal all he can get his furry green hands on to stop Christmas from coming. Prep and Landing
December, 2010
Half-Hour
Prep & Landing is ABC's first television special produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios. The half-hour holiday show reveals the never-before-told tale of an elite unit of Elves known as Prep & Landing. Every Christmas Eve, this high-tech organization ensures that homes around the world are properly prepared for a visit from the 'Big Guy' (aka Santa Claus).
After working tirelessly on Prep & Landing for 227 years, an elf named Wayne (voice of Dave Foley) is upset when he doesn't receive an expected promotion to be the Director of Naughty List Intelligence. Instead, Magee (voice of Sarah Chalke), the North Pole Christmas Eve Command Center Coordinator (NPCECCC for short), partners Wayne with Lanny (voice of Derek Richardson), an idealistic rookie who has an undying enthusiasm for Christmas.
During their Christmas Eve mission, Wayne and Lanny encounter unexpected challenges that push them to their limits. Will the elves be able to guide Dasher, Dancer, and the rest of the reindeer pulling Santa's sleigh through a raging snowstorm to ensure a Merry Christmas for all?
Oscar®-winner John Lasseter (Toys, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Monsters, Inc., and many more animated blockbusters) is the executive producer of Prep & Landing.
Santa Claus is Comin' to Town
December, 2010
1-Hour
You better watch out, you better not cry,
Better not pout, I'm telling you why ...
Santa Claus is comin' to town.
This classic animated holiday special, based on the traditional Christmas standard, continues to delight generations of viewers.
The perennial favorite features Fred Astaire narrating the timeless tale of Kris Kringle (Mickey Rooney), a young boy with an immense desire to do good things for others. In his home village of Sombertown, Kris has started a gift factory where he builds toys and gives them to all the local children. But when the evil ruler, Burgermeister Meisterburger (Paul Frees) bans toys from the land, Kris is forced to go directly to Mother Nature and ask her for assistance. With the help of magical elves and several special reindeer, Kris overcomes the Burgermeister and delivers toys to children all over the world – earning him the name Santa Claus.
Shrek the Halls
December, 2010
'Twas the night before Christmas
And I spent all the day
Finishing up on my Christmas display.
Now missing all this
Would be nothing but tragic,
So just follow me and I'll show you the magic.
It is Shrek's first Christmas, and wife Fiona (Cameron Diaz) wants it to be one to remember. But Shrek wants to do things his way, and just spend some quiet time with the kids. As Christmas Eve draws nearer, his plan for a sedate gathering explodes into a raucous party attended by all of the world's fairy-tale personalities. And Shrek learns to love this divine and chaotic time of the year.
DreamWorks' half-hour animated special features the Shrek characters putting their own spin on holiday traditions. And "like the movie sequels, Shrek the Halls keeps the gags flying..." "...for a made-for-TV version of a theatrical blockbuster, it looks utterly polished..." – Variety (Nov. 27, 2007)
Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve 2011 with Ryan Seacrest
December 31, 2010
3.5 Hours
Television's most popular New Year's bash is an annual tradition for millions who tune in to ABC's non-stop, bi-coastal entertainment show filled with special guests, musical performances, and celebrations from around the globe. Again, Ryan Seacrest will team up with Dick Clark at New York City's famous Times Square, where large crowds gather to count down to the New Year as the lighted ball drops. But the fun doesn't end there for viewers at home... ABC's event festivities continue until 2am ET.
Another tradition is the special's strong ratings performance. Last year's telecast delivered its largest Adult 18-49 audience in three years and topped every other Primetime entertainment program during the week by wide margins.
The celebratory broadcast consists of three specials: Dick Clark's Primetime New Year's Rockin' Eve 2011 with Ryan Seacrest (10-11pm, ET); Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve 2011 with Ryan Seacrest Part 1 (11:35pm - 1:05am, ET) and Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve 2011 with Ryan Seacrest Part 2 (1:05-2:05am, ET).
This December, viewers and advertisers can expect another exciting, high-performance New Year's showcase.
2011 Oscars Red Carpet
Sunday, February 27, 2011
8pm ET/5pm PT
Half-Hour
Before Hollywood's top film stars, producers, directors and writers enter the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood and Vine for television's largest entertainment event – the Academy Awards® – they make their way up the world's most famous red carpet in front of hundreds of cameras, thousands of fans, and millions of viewers tuned into ABC. This pre-show scheduled prior to big show is a buzz-worthy event unto itself, filled with enough mega-watt glamour, glitz and star power to provide an organic environment for Oscar®-quality advertisers.
82nd Annual Academy Awards
Sunday, February 27, 2011
8:30-11:30pm ET/5:30-8:30pm PT
3 Hrs
The biggest night of the year for Hollywood and for entertainment advertisers returns to ABC-TV in 2011 with more movies, more film stars... and more ratings momentum.
Last year's Oscar telecast was the first in decades to feature ten best picture nominees. By opening up the field last year, more blockbusters made the cut and their staggering box office appeal (over $1.5 billion worldwide) translated into high ratings across a wide demographic net (9.9 A18-34, 11.9 A18-49, 13.6 A25-54, 11.7 W18-34, 14.0 W18-49 and 15.8 W25-54). More than 41 million 18+ viewers tuned in to some or all of the broadcast, making it the most-watched Oscars since 2005 and the most-watched non-sports telecast on any network.
The Academy Awards® telecast is also one of the best platforms to reach a high concentration of affluent and educated viewers. In March 2010, indices among adults 18-49 were higher than those of all other specials, including Super Bowl (170 index/HHI $100K+ and 167 index/4+ Years College).
The ceremony will once again take place at the prestigious Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center® in Hollywood. It all begins with a fashionable walk down the famous red carpet.
Glitz, glamour, buzz, and consumers. The Academy Awards® delivers them all.
NTI/NAD, 3/7/10 (Adults, Women, Men 18-34, 18-49, 25-54; C3 ratings)

Charlie Brown Specials
This season, ABC will again air special animated Peanuts programs. Each has a personality as unique as the notable characters created by award-winning cartoonist Charles M. Schulz. These engaging family favorites, based on Shultz' classic syndicated comic strip that began in the 1950s, impart worthwhile lessons while engaging large young audiences.
It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
October, 2010
Half Hour
There are three things I have learned never to discuss with people: religion, politics, and the Great Pumpkin. – Linus
In this Emmy-nominated Peanuts classic, Charlie Brown's security blanket-toting best friend Linus believes the Great Pumpkin rises out of the pumpkin patch on Halloween night and gives toys to all the good little children, just like Santa does at Christmastime. As Linus awaits the Great Pumpkin, the rest of the Peanuts gang go trick-or-treating, while Snoopy, dressed up as the famous World War I flying ace, focuses on shooting down the infamous Red Baron – from the top of his doghouse.
ALSO: You're Not Elected, Charlie Brown
Linus runs for class president with Lucy and Charlie Brown managing his campaign. This bonus PEANUTS feature has Chad Webber as Charlie Brown, Robin Kohn as Lucy, Stephen Shea as Linus, Hilary Momberger as Sally and Todd Barbee as Russell.
A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving
November, 2010
Half Hour
There's no problem so big you can't run away from it. – Linus
It's Thanksgiving at Charlie Brown's House! The true meaning of Thanksgiving is at the heart of this special, as Snoopy, Woodstock, Peppermint Patty and the rest of the Peanuts gang celebrate the traditions of Thanksgiving Day in a non-traditional way: having dinner at the ping-pong table with toast, popcorn and desserts! Despite much turmoil, Thanksgiving ends happily for the group with Charlie Brown's grandmother.
ALSO: The Mayflower Voyagers
This PEANUTS feature originally aired as part of an eight-episode, animated mini-series called "This Is America, Charlie Brown," which had the Peanuts gang visiting important events in United States history. To help celebrate Thanksgiving, ABC brings viewers The Mayflower Voyagers to explore how the pilgrims came to America.
A Charlie Brown Christmas
December, 2010
1 Hour
Lights… That's what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown. – Linus
In the first-ever primetime animated TV special based upon the popular comic strip, the ever– unlucky Charlie Brown tries to do good by directing the Christmas school play. He tries to find a tree for the play and he chooses a pitiful little twig. At first the gang makes fun of Charlie for choosing such an ugly tree for the holiday but an assist from Linus makes the true message of the season come shining through. In the end, everyone realizes that a little affection can make all the difference in the world...even to a tree.
The popular TV special is considered a timeless holiday classic by millions of viewers. Its soundtrack by jazz composer Vince Guaraldi has become as well-known as the story itself, especially the piece entitled "Linus and Lucy," which has become seen as the signature musical theme to Charlie Brown and the Peanuts gang.
I Want a Dog for Christmas, Charlie Brown
December, 2010
1 Hour
Yesterday I was a dog. Today I'm a dog. Tomorrow I'll probably still be a dog. Sigh! There's so little hope for advancement. – Snoopy
Linus' younger brother Rerun wants a dog for Christmas and involves the Peanuts gang in his quest. Will his mom allow him to get one? Can he handle the responsibility of caring for a dog? Find out in this post-Charles Schulz Christmas special based on his timeless Peanuts characters.
A Charlie Brown Valentine
February, 2011
Half Hour
Nothing takes the taste out of peanut butter quite like unrequited love. – Charlie Brown
Love is in the air and Valentine's Day is a week away. Charlie Brown hopes to get a Valentine from the little red-haired girl, as does Sally from Linus...Lucy from Schroeder...and Peppermint Patty from Charlie Brown. The usual heartbreak with all these relationships comes to a head on Valentine's Day, ending with the ill-fated Valentine's Dance.
It's the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown
April, 2011
Half Hour
Some Easter Beagle! He gave me my own egg! – Lucy
Easter is fast approaching, and that means there is a lot to do for the "Peanuts" pals. Charlie, Sally, Lucy and Marcie try to get ready for the big day by making several unsuccessful – yet creative – attempts to prepare eggs for coloring: frying, waffle-ironing, toasting, roasting, and finally soup, while Linus insists there is no preparation necessary. Not to worry…. The Easter Beagle steps in to save the day!
This classic Emmy nominated springtime special returned to ABC in the Spring of 2009.
More specials like New Year's are also available.

Looking at the movie list, they have some good ones they can use during the holidays like Knocked Up, Transformers, The Pursuit of Happyness, Spiderman 3, Batman Begins, Shrek the Third, Santa Clause 3, and Wild Hogs.
Looks like The Polar Express is no longer available? But Dr. Suess' How The Grinch Stole Christmas is back. The Sound of Music is also not listed this year, but that doesn't mean anything maybe.
Du Mont 05-20-2010, 01:07 PM It's nice to see a vintage 'Charlie Brown: The Mayflower Voyager' being added in to the mix. There are about 50 'Charlie Brown' episodes in the library, all of them capable of pulling in big Nielsens, yet puzzlingly ABC only shows a handfull of the holiday perennials each season.
Regarding the movie list, I don't see a single made-for-tv in the upcoming season, and a paucity of fresh theatricals too...how many times does the Alphabet have to run those over-played 'HARRY POTTER' and 'PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN' theatricals?
ABC should consider returning to the format of 90-minute backdoor drama pilots so that they can use the passed-over pilots as fresh double-feature world premiere titles on their film nights and garnering a bit of ad revenue to recover development costs. Those one-hour busted pilots never earn back a penny for shareholders.
DSfan 05-20-2010, 02:19 PM Detroit 1-8-7 actually seems worth tuning in to, at least.
I have the gut feeling, though, that it's one of those shows like Life on Mars than seems like it'll be good and the you get your hopes up and then it's really not all that great and you continue to watch because you hope it will get better. Then it doesn't get better and it gets cancelled haha
R.jsheedy 05-20-2010, 07:51 PM (LATEST ON OLD CHRISINE FROM DEADLINE)
THURSDAY: Old Christine is not throwing in the towel. While I hear a deal at ABC still appears very, very difficult to make, people behind the show are still at it, determined to do everything they can to keep the comedy alive.
http://www.deadline.com/2010/05/would-abc-pick-up-old-christine-and-the-ghost-whisperer/
ryan423 05-21-2010, 09:33 PM ABC WEDNESDAY IS GONNA DROP (RATINGS WISE). This would've been their best bet (ratings wise):
8:00pm - Modern Family (Strongest show, best lead-in...and no AMERICAN IDOL at ANY POINT during the season).
8:30pm - The Middle
9:00pm - Mr. Sunshine (Let this show pick up stream and maybe it will be a great lead-in for Cougar Town).
9:30pm - Cougar Town
ABC could've advertised it as a lineup for Families and "Friends!"
I like Joanna Garciaa and Debra Jo Rupp, but "Better Together" looks awful, and will be done by midseason!
Pavan 05-22-2010, 12:17 AM Modern Family is the anchor of the night, why move it to 8pm? It is perfect at 9 and ABC will never move it to 8 (unless its ratings dip, which I don't see it doing for years to come). And Better Together is getting great feedback. I'll be watching the pilot in the coming days. I hope they pick up an additional comedy like Who Gets the Parents because the other two comedies are going to be late fall (Mr. Sunshine/Happy Endings) and are more adult-oriented. I feel like they will need to have one more on the bench for 2011.
Du Mont 05-22-2010, 11:13 AM DuMont, they added last minute promos during LOST today for new fall series. 5 second spots for No Ordinary Family and Detroit 1-8-7 aired.
Three more 5 second spots will premiere on Thursday during the Grey's finale: My Generation, Body of Proof and The Whole Truth.
Having seen early fall promos from most of the networks start to surface over the last week, I have to say the ABC ones are severely disappointing.
The ABC promos film a laptop, showing a brief glimpse of the show, together with a voiceover to go to ABC.com to see more of the new series. The brief scenes are hardly compelling, and I can't imagine that these bumpers are generating much in the way of traffic.
I also hope ABC retires its tired "Start Here" banner theme for its ads this fall, and goes with something more along the lines of their current "Part of ABC's New Summer Season" or "Laugh On Wednesdays" campaigns.
Across the nets, the best promo I've seen so far is the :30 promo for 'Hellcats', a nicely-edited ad that seems to position the show as a dramatic 'Blue Mountain State'.
Pavan 05-24-2010, 01:56 PM The fall promos will get longer soon, as right now the priortiy is ABC's New Summer Season.
In other news, Miss America is back at ABC in 2011 (tentaively slated for Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011):
THE MISS AMERICA ORGANIZATION CELEBRATES ITS 90th ANNIVERSARY
AND RETURNS TO THE ABC TELEVISION NETWORK
Multi-Year Deal Announced for Telecast Rights to "The Miss America Pageant"
First Pageant to Air on ABC in January 2011
The Miss America Organization (MAO) is proud to announce it has reached a multi-year deal with the ABC Television Network and will return to the network for the 2011 Miss America Pageant, to be presented in January 2011. The news was announced today by Sam Haskell, III, Board Chairman for the Miss America Organization and MAO President & CEO Art McMaster. ABC aired the Miss America Pageant previously in 2004 and will once again retain the exclusive telecast rights through 2013.
"After thorough discussions and negotiations, we are confident that Miss America has reunited with the perfect network partner, ABC, which shares many of our same ideals and tradition," said Haskell. "Miss America's move back to network television is perfect timing as we celebrate our special 90th anniversary and look ahead to reach new heights and create a new path for the future of Miss America. Our brand is so rich in both philanthropy and history, and this new multi-year partnership will not only preserve this great institution, but it will also mark a new milestone in television with our friends at ABC."
"We're thrilled to have the Miss America pageant back on ABC and for the opportunity to be a part of this historic tradition," said Vicki Dummer and John Saade, Senior Vice Presidents, Alternative Series, Specials and Late-Night, ABC Entertainment Group. "We look forward to working with the Miss America Organization for years to come."
Art McMaster, President and CEO for Miss America Organization, said: "MAO will maintain and oversee the creative direction of the pageant with the addition of the award-winning production company, Tall Pony Productions, with Anthony Eaton as the Executive Producer." He added, "'Miss America is one of this country's great enduring institutions, and creatively we are introducing new ways to honor the pageant's rich tradition, while also producing a spectacular show that will offer true entertainment appeal to ABC's viewers."
Last year the Miss America pageant telecast experienced new record growth, with it's highest-ever ratings on cable television.
MAO proudly acknowledges Mark Pedowitz of Pinestreet Entertainment, John Ferriter of Octagon Entertainment, and Billy Goldberg and Kevin Kroos of The Buckeye Group for their efforts on this television partnership.
Pavan 05-31-2010, 04:55 PM My short tweets about the three new sitcoms:
Better Together (Wednesdays at 8:30):
- ABC's upcoming fall sitcom Better Together is a perfect mix of family & relationship. Will work well in between The Middle & Modern Family
- Better Together is familiar & funny. That's something we need on TV these days. Will do well. Full review to come closer to fall.
- And oh yeah, the Better Together theme song is cool. "You and I...We smile inside." Is that a real song? I'm not familiar w/music much.
Mr. Sunshine (late fall, TBD):
- ABC's upcoming late fall sitcom Mr. Sunshine with Matthew Perry needs a bit of work. Potential is there with Allison Janney & Andrea Anders
- Mr. Sunshine is about the craziness of working in a sports arena. A night & time has yet to be announced, so hopefully they re-tool it a bit
- They should rename the show to The Sunshine Center (the arena's name) instead of Mr. Sunshine, as Perry's character is not really the nicest guy yet.
Happy Endings (late fall, TBD):
- ABC's upcoming late fall sitcom Happy Endings about 6 friends who try to remain friends after an incident at a wedding doesnt go as planned. (cont. below)
- Happy Endings is fun, charming and a show that works well in every way. It still hasn't been scheduled for fall yet. Elisha Cuthbert stars.
- As with Better Together, look for our reviews of Mr. Sunshine and Happy Endings closer to premiere date (these two don't have one yet).

That has JoAnna Garcia in it right? Does the theme credit the cast or is it a truncated opening?
Pavan 05-31-2010, 11:56 PM Yes, Joanna Garcia stars. She is great in it. There are no opening/closing credits at all (in the opening or on the first scene) on the version I saw, as it was a rough cut. There was a theme song with graphics. I'll get to see a final version closer to the fall that will have all credits and music.
tvcrazed 06-01-2010, 01:51 PM Are promos for DOWNFALL starting tonight?
Pavan 06-01-2010, 01:59 PM Yes, Downfall short spots tonight.
No Ordinary Family, My Generation and Detroit 1-8-7 get 15 seconds spots each during NBA Finals Game #1 Celtics at Lakers on Thursday.
tvcrazed 06-01-2010, 02:00 PM Thanks.
I was actually surprised that ABC didnt air at least a :15 for No Ordinary Family during the LOST finale.
What's a short spot :05?
Pavan 06-01-2010, 02:04 PM I was, too, but I was told they wanted to fully promote summer. Yes 5 seconds for Downfall promos tonight.
tvcrazed 06-01-2010, 02:10 PM 5 seconds is nothing for a new show. You have to explain. A 5 second spot is good as a reminder for a hit. When you're introducing a new show you need AT LEAST :15, preferably at least :30. It's their 9p anchor on a night dominated by hits on NBC and FOX and premieres in 3 weeks.
Id rather they run one :20 instead of four :05 spots. Hopefully they have longer ones for NBA.
Also THE FUTON CRITIC is saying there are 7 eps left for WIFE SWAP. Did they only order 13 this year?
Pavan 06-01-2010, 02:22 PM I don't know how many episodes Wife Swap has this (6th) season. But 13 or 14 sounds right, since Supernanny had 13 only this season as well. I do know that they ordered a 7th season for next season (I guess 13 more episodes).
tvcrazed 06-01-2010, 02:27 PM I just checked FUTON. He does list 14 eps. I didnt realize they stopped ordering 22 eps.
Du Mont 06-01-2010, 03:04 PM 5 seconds is nothing for a new show. You have to explain. A 5 second spot is good as a reminder for a hit. Five second spots can sometimes be effective as teasers...past early 5-second promos for shows like 'FlashForward' and 'Jericho' probably helped in creating anticipation, just as the 5-seconder for 'Hawaii Five-O' is probably doing so this year (it has the advantage of leveraging the catchy theme music).
The ABC 5-seconders are designed to generate web traffic to ABC.com to see their clip-highlights of the new fall programs. Given the brief footage seen that is miniaturized (on a laptop), I would doubt that these promos are creating any meaningful awareness of title, concept, actors for non-ABC.com-driven viewers...what can laptop footage of a scene with Mr. Michael Chiklis tossing a frisbee possibly convey about 'No Ordinary Family'?
tvcrazed 06-01-2010, 03:36 PM yes but those shows are 4 months away. DOWNFALL is 3 weeks away and as I've mentioned, it's their Tues anchor against the biggest hits of Summer -AGT and HELLS KITCHEN. Now is past the time of 5 second teasers. I wasn't complaining about ABC airing 5 second teasers of NOF during the season finales.
Pavan 06-25-2010, 04:15 PM There will be TWO half-hour ABC affiliate fall preview specials in late August (can air anytime between Saturday, August 28 through Sunday, Sept. 19).

Pavan, any indication yet as to whether ABC is continuing with the use of 'The Buzz Hunters' concept for their fall preview affiliate specials?
Pavan 06-26-2010, 02:49 PM No idea of the name yet. Too early.
Pavan 06-29-2010, 12:49 AM 30 second No Ordinary Family promo is airing during Downfall tomorrow night at 9pm ET/PT on ABC (and a 15 second one, too)! Also, Better Together promos premiere during the Wednesday comedies (3 times during 8:30-10pm shows).
As we found out on Saturday during the World Cup, No Ordinary Family premieres Tuesday, Sept. 28 on ABC.
Pavan 07-02-2010, 04:57 PM Premiere date for My Generation will be announced via promo tomorrow during ABC's coverage of the World Cup! I'm guessing Thursday, Sept. 23.
Detroit 1-8-7 premiere date will be announced via promo soon, too. I believe on Tuesday.

Pavan 07-22-2010, 04:30 PM The following is President of ABC News, David Westin's announcement of Bill Weir joining Nightline as an anchor and Martin Bashir leaving next month. It is expected that Bill will do some double-duty next month between Nightline and Good Morning America Weekend until his replacement at GMA Weekend is announced. Here is Westin's blurb:
I'm pleased to announce that Bill Weir will be joining Terry Moran and Cynthia McFadden as a Nightline anchor. Since joining us in 2004, Bill has done some of our most innovative reporting from every conceivable venue, both as co-anchor of weekend GMA and for all of our other programs and platforms. He has traveled the globe covering breaking news and uncovering global trends, including his coverage of Afghanistan last January where he came under fire with American troops, his in-depth reports on the economic rise of China and India, and the primetime hours he's done on topics ranging from the rise and fall of General Motors to the pursuit of happiness around the world. Bill has been at the forefront of our adoption of all that new technology makes possible, often shooting his own material in the field and embracing new forms of reporting now possible in the digital world.
Under the leadership of James Goldston, Nightline has done what few imagined possible five years ago: It has combined groundbreaking and important journalism with an appeal to the audience that has led it to grow while others in its time period have declined. I'm confident that the addition of Bill to James' extraordinary team will ensure Nightline's success in the years to come, while at the same time the entire division continues to benefit from Bill's contributions.
As Martin Bashir just announced to the Nightline staff, he will be leaving ABC News next month for a position at NBC News. Martin has been an important part of the successful Nightline effort. All of us owe him a debt of gratitude for his many contributions to ABC News during his six years here, and I know that all of us wish him well.
Please join me in congratulating Bill on his new job and thanking Martin for his service to ABC News.

Better With You only has 0:15 promos airing so far during the comedies and The Whole Truth and Body of Proof have not gone beyond those 0:05 bumpers from early June. I'll post the good ones when available.
Pavan 08-09-2010, 08:44 PM ABC has announced that they have renewed Shark Tank for a second season! 8 new episodes will be ordered and Jeff Foxworthy joins the sharks for at least 3 episodes. Production is beginning in the fall, so I would guess we will see it on Fridays in early 2011. They also have one leftover episode from this season to air.

Just wondering about Shark Tank, do you think at this stage of the game they might as well just keep that last episode of season 1 and carry it over to season 2? Or, at least, put that last episode at 8 leading into the season premiere (whenever that is) at 9?
benjamoon 08-12-2010, 12:50 AM "The Whole Truth" looks better than I thought it would be, but it's hard to tell if it will avoid being a generic legal drama
"Body of Proof" looks ok... I'm not a big fan of medical dramas in general though
and "Better with You"... has yet to look even REMOTELY funny in any of its promos. Yuck.

tvcrazed 08-20-2010, 03:30 PM Monday is 4 weeks to the new season. I'd assume starting Sunday or Monday ABC will start promote returning shows. I am guessing DWTS promo teasing the announcement next Monday will start during Bachelor Pad. I am Guessing GREYS will start Thurs. Maybe that new DH video will start Sun?
Pavan 08-20-2010, 11:36 PM Returning show promos for the comedies, Home Edition and Castle have started. Yes, you're right DWTS announcement promos start on Monday during Bachelor Pad. I don't see any other returning series promos listed yet. Possibly will start Aug. 30?
Pavan 08-25-2010, 11:15 AM Grey's new season promos (30 seconds) start Thursday during all three shows and Desperate Housewives promos (1 minute) start Sunday during the movie.
Also, the ABC fall preview specials will air nationally as well (in addition to the local airings):

Pavan 08-26-2010, 05:53 PM The first Dancing with the Stars: Results Show will now be on Tuesday, Sept. 21 with a special two-hour airing from 8-10pm. The scheduled second performance show is no longer airing on this night, so this means everyone is dancing on Monday, Sept. 20 from 8-10:02.
The normal Results Shows start a week later (Tuesday, Sept. 28) at 9 after the premiere of No Ordinary Family.
tvcrazed 08-27-2010, 07:45 PM The first Dancing with the Stars: Results Show will now be on Tuesday, Sept.
One hour for the results show is already a stretch. They can't have a results show for 2 hours without another hook. Here's what I am guessing and it's just a guess. The Tuesday show is another performance show AND results show. This way the dancers will do a ballroom and latin dance the first week. But viewers will vote on the Monday show and the lowest vote getter Monday won't get to perform Tuesday and will be 1st eliminee. The whole night Tuesday they'll announce the next to perform and the drama will ramp up until there's two left. One will perform and one will go home. The votes from Tues will be added to next Monday and then the one with the combined lowest votes from both show goes home next Tues.
It's just a guess. If Tues is not another performance show, they'll have to have another hook b/c it can't just be a regular results show for 2 hours. Also ABC wants a lead in to Detroit premiere and results shows always are lower rated than Mon shows, and against all those premieres, a regular results shows, one that is extra padded, will be destroyed. So if it's not another performance show, it'll have to be something special in addition to results, like maybe a DWTS all star special.
tvcrazed 08-31-2010, 02:20 PM Beyond bewildered at how they are just stretching a results show to 2 hours (per their press release). Even AI never did this. With all those big premieres on other nets, they are asking to be clobbered. Regular results shows don't do well compared to the Monday show. A bloated results show when there's mega competition on every other net is asking for 4th place. Viewers aren't stupid. I hope they have something else up their sleeve that hasn't been announced yet.

Pavan 09-02-2010, 05:32 PM Sunday, Sept. 26 update:
The season premiere of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition will now air as two one-hour episodes on Sunday, September 26, 2010 in the 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM ET/PT hours. As a result, the season premiere of America's Funniest Home Videos will now air on Sunday, October 3, 2010 at 7:00 PM ET/PT.
Pavan 09-05-2010, 12:33 AM Grey's promo kept getting pulled the last week or so, but as of now it is still on for tomorrow (Sunday):
Sunday, September 5, 2010
1:00pm ABC Afternoon Movie: She's the Man

:05 The Whole Truth (Sept. 22)

I don't know which will be local promos, so your cable company can preempt those local spots. I know those last two promos (5 second bumpers) during The Gates are for sure local, so local stations can preempt them for local spots. Hopefully the Grey's spots are not local, but they will be for sure airing starting Monday during The Bachelor Pad and Dating in the Dark (not posting Monday's promo list until Monday, because it can change).
Pavan 09-07-2010, 10:18 AM David Westin will step down at the end of this year after 13 years as President of ABCNews:
Dear Colleague,
A month ago I told Bob Iger and Anne Sweeney that the time has come for me to step down as President of ABC News. Leading you has been a great privilege and a solemn responsibility -- a responsibility that I tried to fulfill for over thirteen years by doing what I believed was best for this important news organization. I will root for your continued success long after I am gone.
I’ve always admired those few who know when it’s time to move on. This is the right time for me. Over the last nine months, we’ve put in place new anchors on all of our programs. At the same time, we went through a very difficult transformation made necessary by changes in our business and its economics. I am confident ABC News is better positioned for the future than it has been at any time since I came here in March of 1997.
As rewarding as I’ve found my time here, there are some other things I want to do professionally -- things that I cannot explore while fulfilling my responsibilities here. I’m announcing my decision now so that I can pursue those possibilities, something I couldn’t do in fairness to all of you until I’d told you of my plans to step down. I have agreed to remain your leader through the end of the year to ensure that Anne has the time she needs to find the right successor and that there is an orderly transition. So, I’m not going anywhere for the time being. I will need your support during this interim period to make sure that we continue to move forward.
I have only the highest regard for the company of which we are a part, for its leadership, and – most important – for all of you. I am grateful for your letting me be part of this great organization for so long.
David
tvcrazed 09-07-2010, 11:48 AM NBC clearly not wasting new UnderCovers on Thanks Eve as they're skedding the new Shrek special. Any chance ABC won't waste new eps that night. Based on what we've discussed before, I assume not, but just wondering if things might change this year.
Pavan 09-07-2010, 12:46 PM Shrek is a Halloween special for NBC. I don't know yet about ABC Thanksgiving Eve, too early to tell.
Pavan 09-07-2010, 01:18 PM Looks like ABC is still on track to launch Secret Millionaire/Body of Proof on Fridays. Hearing late October with more info to come after all the launches. It depends on how everything goes, so they can be held still for mid-season for other nights.

Sorry I meant the Kung Fu Panda special which is on Thanks Eve. They're preempting Community and 30 Rock the 28th for Shrek which should give them originals well into December.
Would be cool for them to run Charlie Brown Thanksgiving at 8p, Fizbo ep of MF at 9p, maybe another MF rerun at 9:30 (bet their nightly avg would be same as all orginals), but I expect all orginals as usual.

Late October is really smart, b/c they'll potentially have a couple weeks (last 2 of Sep) to know how their schedule is faring and they'll still have opportunity to use to fill in for during the week or for midseason like you suggested
Pavan 09-07-2010, 02:53 PM Plus they are very high on Secret Millionaire/Body of Proof. One show that episodes (post-pilot) came out way better than expected is Detroit 1-8-7. I think ABC is going to push it it more as a result. I think V is going to air Tues at 9 at the end of November after Dancing is over leading into Detroit. Probably think ABC will have 1 or 2 weeks of originals for No Ordinary Family/Detroit as well for Tuesdays in December to go along with V.

Both those shows seem to have tons of potential to me, which is why I think they could yield them big results during the week.
I wonder/hope if the net will air 1 week of reruns after the first 5 weeks. Sweeps starts 10/28, I assume. If they don't take a break, the Thursday shows will have aired 10 eps by end of sweeps. I assume they want at least one week in early Dec of new eps. Wed comedies are preempted b/c of CMA and if they take off Thanks eve (I assume they won't) they can air 10 eps by Dec 7th. If they take off another week, they can air 10 eps by Dec 14th. I think they need to strech out originals better in Dec.
yankeesrj12 09-07-2010, 04:24 PM Shrek is a Halloween special for NBC. I don't know yet about ABC Thanksgiving Eve, too early to tell.
So NBC has a Shrek Halloween special and ABC has a Shrek Christmas special? What?!
Pavan 09-07-2010, 05:43 PM Yes, I would guess ABC Thursday would be repeats on Oct. 21 so they can go through Dec. 9. Plus they won't air on Thanksgiving Thursday. If no preemption on Oct. 21, then the Thursday dramas will air have fall finales on Dec. 2.
tvcrazed 09-07-2010, 06:39 PM Just a random comment: I think ABC should up the order for Wipeout from 18 to 24 eps for next summer.
I assume they're gonna renew Bachelor Pad and use it same way as this Summer.
Probably some kind of new realtionship show for 10p Monday Summer. Suggestion: They should try updating Love Connection which was a big daytime hit for many years. Would be cool to include same sex couples now.

9:00pm No Ordinary Family (R, 9/28 pilot)
I'm guessing sitcom repeats will in that TBD, perhaps the first two The Middle of the season?
Pavan 09-16-2010, 06:47 PM Due to today's tragedy in Baltimore at John Hopkins Hospital, ABC stations have an option NOT to air the Grey's Anatomy two-hour season finale encore (which dealt with a hospital gunman). Anyway, the TBD for Oct. 1 has been filled:

8:00pm Modern Family (9/29 R)
8:30pm Better With You (9/29, R)

NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- ABC needs to pull a desperate housewife out of its fall schedule.
In 2004, after suffering a drop in upfront ad sales thanks to an overdependence on game show "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire," ABC greenlit "Lost" and "Desperate Housewives," which fueled its resurgence. This fall, ABC's hoping for a similar jolt. The network has grown reliant on a group of aging stalwarts and that has ad buyers concerned.
ABC can't afford to lose any viewers of its aging 'Grey's Anatomy.' How bad has it gotten? Even ratings-challenged NBC, no longer so far behind ABC in terms of performance, has been taking potshots. For the 2009-2010 prime-time broadcast season, ABC saw its average viewership come in third, behind CBS and Fox, according to Nielsen. More crucial, perhaps, is its viewership in the demographic coveted by advertisers -- people between the ages of 18 and 49. ABC nabbed an average of 2.692 million viewers, Nielsen said, while NBC, boosted by its broadcasts of the Winter Olympics, captured an average of 2.686 million viewers between 18 and 49 -- not too far apart.
Couple that with ABC's recent spate of executive turnover -- ABC news chief David Westin has indicated he will leave by the end of 2010, and the network has parted ways with both Stephen McPherson, the man who devised its new fall schedule, and Michael Benson, one of the executives who was supposed to market its new shows to the masses -- and it will be a year of rebuilding.
Pavan 09-23-2010, 03:48 PM Not sure if I posted ABC weekend afternoon airings:
Sunday, September 26, 2010
4:00-6:00pm ET/2:00pm-4:00pm PT ABC Movie: Dreamer: Inspired by a True Story
Sundays, October 17, 24, & 31, 2010

8:00pm Modern Family (R, 10/13)
8:30pm The Middle (R, 10/13)
9:00pm Detroit 1-8-7 (R, 10/12)
If The Whole Truth and My Generation don't end up working out, meaning going down in the ratings more (I hope not, especially for My Generation), ABC should do this come November:
Wednesdays at 10pm: V
Thursdays at 8pm: Secret Millionaire (they only have 6 episodes, so not sure what they would do after, perhaps Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition? I'd rather that air on Sundays giving Desperate or Home Edition a 6 week break.)
I would lauch Body of Proof in between the Dancing with the Stars: The Finals and Castle on Monday, Nov. 22 at 9pm as a special preview and then move it to Tuesdays at 9pm the following week (Nov. 30) in between No Ordinary Family and Detroit 1-8-7 (if they both are working, and yes I know airing three rookies is a risk, but NOF and 1-8-7 might have built up an audience by then). Holiday specials can air 8-10pm on Mondays in December before The Bachelor returns in January.

It's pretty obvious that Body of Proof and Secret Millionaire won't be airing on Fridays afterall. I bet ABC will continue airing comedy/freshman drama repeats until Primetime:WWYD? with maybe Supernanny at 8pm returns in November. Body of Proof would probably work either Tuesdays at 9pm after DWTS, Wednesdays at 10pm, or Thursdays at 8pm. I think it's most likely to go Thursdays at 8pm. Competing against comedies on CBS and NBC and Bones on FOX would probably be best. And, airing with Grey's Anatomy is definitely an upside.
Meanwhile. I bet we'll see Off the Map go to Wednesdays at 10pm in January, but until then, I'm not sure what they'll do. LOLA will most likely crush TWT next week. Secret Millionaire will probably air on Mondays or Tuesdays after DWTS.
Pavan 09-28-2010, 03:22 PM So I have been told that on other sites people are saying ABC's final ratings for last night will go down .8 in 18-49 from the prelim due to NFL preempting in Milwaukee/Green Bay. It won't be that high. I think they are confused because ABC went down a lot once last year because BOTH teams were on ABC affiliates for the "Farve Bowl" on Monday, Oct. 5. That is 3 markets: Milwaukee, Green Bay, and Minneapolis/St. Paul. Check out the numbers for yourself:
Prelim numbers for October 5, 2009 (which factored in NFL in Milwaukee, Green Bay, and Minneapolis/St. Paul):
ABC 15.74 million, 3.6/9 18-49
8:00pm DANCING WITH THE STARS 17.78 million and 4.0/10 18-49
10:00pm CASTLE (w/2 min DWTS) 11.64 million and a 3.0/7 18-49
FINALS
Monday, October 5, 2009
ABC 9.2/14.1, 14.06, 3.1/7.5, 3.9/9.0 (PREEMPTED FOR MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL ON WBAY GREEN BAY, WISN MILWAUKEE, AND KSTP MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL)
8:00PM DANCING WITH THE STARS 10.7/16, 16.35, 3.5/8, 4.5/10
10:02PM CASTLE 6.1/10, 9.23, 2.2/6, 2.8/7
ABC went down a lot because it was preempted not only in Green Bay/Milwaukee but in Minneapolis/St. Paul as well.
Prelim numbers for December 7, 2009 (which factored in NFL in Milwaukee and Green Bay):
ABC 7.45 million, 2.2/6 18-49
8:00PM SANTA CLAUS IS COMIN' TO TOWN -REPEAT 8.04 million and 2.7/7 18-49
9:00PM FIND MY FAMILY 5.9 million and 1.8/4 18-49
10:00PM CASTLE 8.41 million and 2.3/6 18-49
FINALS:
Monday, December 7, 2009
ABC 4.3/6.7, 6.88, 2.0/5.3, 2.4/5.7 (PREEMPTED IN GREEN BAY AND MILWAUKEE FOR NFL MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL)
8:00PM SANTA CLAUS IS COMIN' TO TOWN -REPEAT 4.1/6, 7.6, 2.5/7, 3.0/7
9:00PM FIND MY FAMILY 3.5/5, 5.23, 1.5/4, 1.8/4
10:00PM CASTLE 5.1/9, 7.8, 2.1/5, 2.4/6
The drops (not really drops since they count NFL in the ratings for these stations) for last night will be probably similar to Dec. 7, when only Green Bay/Milwaukee was preempted, down .2 overall for the night in 18-49. So ABC last night did a 4.3 in prelim 18-49, it will likely be a 4 or 4.1 in finals.
PASS THIS LINK ON TO WHEREVER PEOPLE SAID THIS. THEY DID NOT SAY ANYTHING ABOUT MINNEAPOLIS LAST TIME WHEN MAKING COMMENTS ABOUT GREEN BAY.
Pavan 09-28-2010, 07:41 PM Change for Friday:
Friday, October 1, 2010
8:30pm The Middle (R)
[A repeat of Better With You is no longer scheduled on this date.]
Also...I was correct with the little drops only from the prelim numbers for ABC:
http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/showthread.php?t=273677
And both DWTS and Castle were up from last week's premeires even in viewers (Castle was also up in 18-49). Amazing.

Amazing.
Was expecting that change.
It strikes me funny that ABC was specific in airing No Ord Fam at 8 when there is no doubt it would do better at 9p and prob be #1, yet on Friday they are airing it at 9. Although I think they should re run this on Friday this week, so at least The Middle is a better lead in.
Speaking of - I hope after this week they stop rerunning MF on Fri. Based on what you said they only get 3 airings (unless that deal changed) and they are blowing 2 of them in one week and it only got them a 1.2, which they could get with Wife Swap and save the MF.
Also, rather baffled that there are zero promos for Better With You this week. I know they were on GMA and the View, but there are tons of promos for The Whole Truth (although I think that's because they expect it to tank this week and when they pull it, then can say we promoted it)
After this week I'd return WWYD to Fri at 9p (even a rerun) will help 20/20 and strengthen the night (which they need for weekly avg). At 8p if the NOF rerun does okay maybe rerun again for few weeks at 8p although last year they didnt rerun V on Fri cause they wanted audiences to know to watch at Tues at 8 and This year competition much steeper at 8p Tues (still think NOF would have owned 9p or Sun 8p), so I'd return Wife Swap to Friday at 8 which will get 1-1.2 and they can be competetive on Fri again.
Pavan 09-29-2010, 12:24 PM I think ABC plans to air encores on Fridays until Oct. 22. I guess on Oct. 29 we will see It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown at 8 (where else can it air really?) and the season premiere of Primetime: WWYD at 9pm for the first Friday in sweeps? We are def. not going to see Body of Proof now on Fridays and most likely Secret Millionaire as well (I heard the plan was for them to launch Oct. 22 or 29). Probably Supernanny returns the following week at 8pm on Fridays.
I think the NOF pilot encore will do well Friday. Hope whoever didn't watch it, watches it, because it is a great pilot. Better With You got promos in GMA/ ABC Daytime the last two days. And today as well along with promos during The Middle tonight. I think it will do fine with or without promos. The Whole Truth got a lot of promos last night only, mainly during Detroit. Hopefully it goes up. Detroit is more promising though and ABC execs are loving the upcoming episodes (in fact raving starting next week).
Pavan 10-01-2010, 04:04 PM Like the final Friday encore night:
Friday, October 22, 2010
8:00pm Modern Family (R, 10/20)
8:30pm The Middle (R, TBD)
9:00pm 20/20 (all-new, special time)
[20/20 will also air in its regular 10pm time slot on this date.]
For those wondering, final Thursday before sweeps (Oct. 21), ABC is all-new with Grey's and Private (and My Generation if it is still on).
icecream 10-01-2010, 04:27 PM I think ABC plans to air encores on Fridays until Oct. 22. I guess on Oct. 29 we will see It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown at 8 (where else can it air really?)Thursday at 8 will likely be open by then.
icecream 10-01-2010, 07:47 PM ABC cancels My Generation.
http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2010/10/abc-cancels-my-generation-after-two-episodes.html
Pavan 10-02-2010, 01:20 PM If I were ABC, I'd so something like this:
Thursdays
8:00PM Grey's Anatomy (previous week repeat) until 10/21; It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown (10/28); Secret Millionaire (effective Nov. 4, maybe on Thanksgiving (11/25) have a three-episode repeat marathon from 8-11pm)
Fridays
Effective immediately (10/8)
8:00PM No Ordinary Family (Tuesday repeat)
9:00PM Primetime: What Would You Do? (repeats for now, preempted on 10/22 for 20/20 Special)
[New episodes can air starting 10/29 for WWYD)
Now if The Whole Truth gets pulled in the next few weeks or less, this is what ABC should do:
Wednesdays
9:30PM Modern Family (R)
10:00PM Cougar Town (all-new)
10:30PM Cougar Town (R)
[Then possibly bring in Happy Endings and Mr. Sunshine in November somewhere here, but it will be hard to do that since Nov. 10 is CMA's and Nov. 24 is Thanksgiving Eve...really tough, so ABC is just better off airing repeats of MF/CT at 9:30 & 10:30 until Jan)
What about V and Body of Proof? Either could air Tuesdays at 9 after DWTS is over (Nov. 30), I would guess V would be the choice and maybe hold Body of Proof for early 2011.
Pavan 10-05-2010, 12:31 AM Official: Encore episodes of Grey’s Anatomy are scheduled to air on Thursdays, October 7 and 14 at 8pm leading into an all-new episode at 9.
Thursday, October 7 and 14, 2010
8:00pm Grey's Anatomy previous week (R)
[My Generation is canceled and had its last telecast in this slot on Sept. 30. Programming for Oct. 21 and on has not been announced yet.]
Friday, October 8, 2010
9:00pm No Ordinary Family (R, 10/6)
[Replaces the My Generation pilot encore.]
Pavan 10-05-2010, 11:51 AM Last night there were preemptions on ABC in Boston and Manchester, NH for Monday Night Football simulcasts. Dancing with the Stars aired at 1:35am on these two stations, while Castle will air 1:05am (1:35am on the other station) tonight. So the final ratings will drop some from the preliminaries.
Last time New England played on MNF was on Nov. 30, 2009 and this is what happened:
PRE-LIM:
ABC 8.14 million and 2.4 18-49 (PREEMPTED IN BOSTON AND MANCHESTER, NH FOR NFL MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL)
8:00PM HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS -REPEAT 9.64 million, 2.9/8 18-49
8:30PM SHREK THE HALLS -REPEAT 10.01 million, 3.2/8 18-49
9:00PM FIND MY FAMILY 7.85 million, 2.3/5 18-49
10:00PM CASTLE -REPEAT 6.75, 1.9/5 18-49
FINALS:
ABC 4.3/6.6, 7.37, 2.2/5.4, 2.5/5.8 (PREEMPTED IN BOSTON AND MANCHESTER, NH FOR NFL MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL)
8:00PM HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS -REPEAT 4.7/7, 9.2, 2.8/7, 3.3/8
8:30PM SHREK THE HALLS -REPEAT 4.5/7, 9.15, 2.9/7, 3.3/7
9:00PM FIND MY FAMILY 4.3/6, 6.95, 2.0/5, 2.3/5
10:00PM CASTLE -REPEAT 4.0/7, 6.01, 1.6/4, 2.0/5
It looks like it will be a .2 or .3 drop in 18-49 tonight for ABC tonight from the prelim ratings (as with last week). Not too bad. Plus the year ago game was with the Saints-Pats. This was Dolphins-Pats. Last week ABC went from a prelim 4.3 to a final 4.1, still in first place despite the station preemptions.
tvcrazed 10-05-2010, 12:10 PM If ABC drops .3 it will at best tie CBS for first
Even before Football DWTS is off .5 from last week. Why are there always these huge drops yet CBS remains stable or has more minimal drops.
Pavan 10-05-2010, 03:12 PM Tuesday, November 2, 2010
8:00-9:30pm Dancing with the Stars: The Results - 200th Episode Celebration Part 2 (part one airs the night before from 8-10pm within the performance show)
9:30pm-11pm ABC News Special: Vote 2010
[No Ordinary Family and Detroit 1-8-7 are preempted on this night and DWTS is at a special time of 8pm and expanded to 90 minutes.]

tvcrazed 10-08-2010, 12:03 PM Just putting it out there: WIPEOUT reruns Thurs at 8p the next 2 weeks would get them a 2 and help them win the night.

Friday, October 15, 2010
9:00pm 20/20 (special time)
[Detroit 1-8-7 encore is no longer scheduled. 9pm 20/20 was originally scheduled for Oct. 22. 10pm edition still airs as always.]
Effective Friday, October 22, 2010
9:00pm Primetime: What Would You Do? (best of on 10/22; all-new season of 11 episodes starts 10/29)
Friday, October 29, 2010
8:00pm It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown

What about V and Body of Proof? Either could air Tuesdays at 9 after DWTS is over (Nov. 30), I would guess V would be the choice and maybe hold Body of Proof for early 2011.
So I posted this last week and ABC almost did all of this. Nice. Wednesdays at 10 is the only thing that hasn't changed yet, and I think that will change come November with specials and comedy repeats. Starting in January, I would turn the entire night into comedies with additions of Happy Endings and Mr. Sunshine somewhere on the night. No drama works for ABC at 10pm anyway on this night it seems. Go for the comedies. They'll do 2s at least.
Thursdays at 8 starting 11/4 still isn't announced though, but hoping it is Secret Millionaire, as I suggested. This hour needs to be a reality series for the rest of the season, whether it is SecMill, EM: Weight Loss Edition or even Shark Tank. I'd rather air V Tuesdays starting Nov. 23, with the premiere airing at 10 after the DWTS Grand Finale. The following week, V can air every Tuesday at 9pm following No Ordinary Family. And as I predicted, Body of Proof will be held for early 2011. Maybe in March on Tuesdays at 10? Off the Map should air Sundays at 10 in March.
tvcrazed 10-09-2010, 07:47 PM Whatever they do for Thursdays I assume will be announced shortly as they'll need to start promoting this week. Let's say Sec Millionaire blows up (and even if it gets a 2.5 I'd assume theyd want more). Wouldnt they want to rush back into production and produce more? I assume they want some kind of set 8p Thu show. That's been a hole for them for a while now and the right reality show that works could finally plug that hole.
tvcrazed 10-11-2010, 03:25 PM Stuart Levine of Variety seems pretty sure Sec Milliionaire is going on Friday. His direct quote was "looks like Friday". I wonder if ABC has any plans for Million Dollar Mind Game or Em:WLE on Thursday
Pavan 10-11-2010, 03:36 PM Like I said, that is what I have a feeling they will do, with V on Thursdays. Do I like that? No. I hope I'm wrong and they go with my suggestion.
tvcrazed 10-11-2010, 03:40 PM Variety and EW have also made the point that it makes the most sense to go with Sec Milli or reality, so I am sure they see many in the biz think that they should do it. I just don't get why they wouldn't try the reality route. V has big comp with BONES, TBBT AND The Vampire Diaries. Honestly if they dont do Sec Mill on Thurs, I'd rather they try it on Sun as it cant do much worse than EM. plus On Friday School Pride is going for the exact same audience. Sometime this season they need to try something else Sun at 8p and the remaining EM:HE can be used on Sundays in Summer where there's less competition.
Pavan 10-11-2010, 03:48 PM Well nothing is announced yet, so we can't judge.
tvcrazed 10-11-2010, 03:57 PM I was only speaking hypothetically based on yours and Stuart Levine's comments. Also, I haven't understood (since May) leaving Sundays completely as is, and based on 3 weeks of ratings for EM:HE I don't think it's wrong of me to suggest something new there at some point soon. That's why I said IF SM doesn't end up on Thurs, It would make more sense, to me, to be used for a Sunday tryout.
Pavan 10-11-2010, 04:37 PM No surprise here:
Thursay, October 21, 2010
8:00pm Grey's Anatomy (previous week encore)

I'm wondering if ABC will up the B&S order back to 22 anytime soon. I highly doubt ABC is going to leave it at 18 with the number of holes they'll need to fill. They need B&S somewhere on the schedule, and it's still a very strong performer. Either ABC will leave it on Sundays all season, or we'll see Off the Map Sundays at 10pm eventually with B&S moving elsewhere.
Pavan 10-11-2010, 05:24 PM 18 Bothers and Sisters episodes + 13 Off the Map episodes = 31. If they plan on still having Off the Map still Sundays at 10, they won't need more B&S. And they are not going to move it. It's fine on Sundays. The only holes they need fixing are Wednesdays at 10 and Thursdays at 8. They need to be patient on Tuesdays at 10, where nothing is doing great anyway. Fridays will be fine once they have a line-up airing with WWYD anchoring the night.
JulieSomoski 10-11-2010, 10:18 PM 18 Bothers and Sisters episodes + 13 Off the Map episodes = 31. If they plan on still having Off the Map still Sundays at 10, they won't need more B&S. But they have Brothers & Sisters doing well (it's actually up in the ratings this season), and they'll likely have Off the Map doing well (my guess is it'll either be a breakout success or another modest hit, ala B&S/Private Practice). Why have them share a slot? I'd think it would be smarter to just up B&S to 22 and add a few more eps to OtM's order
Pavan 10-12-2010, 12:19 AM There are 35 weeks to a season. Why would they need more if they have 13 for Off the Map? There will already be like 3-4 weeks off in December.
Pavan 10-12-2010, 12:23 PM Just like my post on 9/28:
So I have been told that on other sites people are saying ABC's final ratings for last night will go down .8 in 18-49 from the prelim due to NFL preempting in Minneapolis. It won't be that high. FINALS
Monday, October 5, 2009
ABC 9.2/14.1, 14.06, 3.1/7.5, 3.9/9.0 (PREEMPTED FOR MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL ON WBAY GREEN BAY, WISN MILWAUKEE, AND KSTP MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL)
8:00PM DANCING WITH THE STARS 10.7/16, 16.35, 3.5/8, 4.5/10
10:02PM CASTLE 6.1/10, 9.23, 2.2/6, 2.8/7
ABC went down a lot because it was preempted not only in Minneapolis/St. Paul but in Green Bay & Milwaukee as well (and it was Farve's return to Green Bay). It won't be that high this time, like I said on 9/28:
http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/showpost.php?p=4475654&postcount=113
ABC will likely go down from prelim 3.8 to 3.6. Not the half a point we saw on 10/5/09.
Pavan 10-12-2010, 01:04 PM I'm posting this a week in advance, so this news spreads fast. ABC is preempted in Nashville next week (10/18) for MNF simulcast. And that is not major! Proof from last year:
11/23/09
PRE-LIM
ABC 15.88 million, 3.4/9 18-49 (PREEMPTED IN NASHVILLE FOR NFL MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL)
8:00PM DANCING WITH THE STARS 20.49 million, 4.1/10
9:30PM FIND MY FAMILY 12.9 million, 2.9/7
10:00PM CASTLE 10.46 million, 2.7/7
FINALS
ABC 10.1/15.7, 15.77, 3.4/8.8, 4.4/10.5 (PREEMPTED IN NASHVILLE FOR NFL MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL)
8:00PM DANCING WITH THE STARS 12.9/19, 20.41, 4.0/10, 5.5/13
9:30PM FIND MY FAMILY 8.3/13, 12.76, 2.9/7, 3.6/8
10:00PM CASTLE 6.6/11, 10.31, 2.7/7, 3.2/8
ABC remained at the same 18-49 rating and slight drops in total viewers. So expect that next week from prelim to finals when Nashville is preempted on ABC.
And once again, this week the final drop from prelim will be a .2 or .3 at most overall. Heck last week for BOSTON, a bigger market than Minneapolis, ABC was only down .2 overall from the prelim numbers. I have been right on every week on this...trust me.
Zedman2 10-13-2010, 08:08 AM ABC moving summer staple 'Wipeout' to winter
Competition series to get its first run during regular season
By James HIbberd
Oct 13, 2010, 07:00 AM ET
ABC is moving its summer reality stable "Wipeout" to the big leagues, giving the Endemol USA-produced obstacle-course competition series its first run during the regular TV season.
Beginning in January, "Wipeout" will return with a "winter wonderland"-themed course, complete with slippery ice and such new stunts as the Spanker Sleds, the Wipeout Ski Lift and the Polar Bear Run.
The network has ordered eight episodes, which will be considered part of the show's recent fourth season. "Wipeout" averaged 9.2 million viewers and a 3.2 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic during its Tuesday run in the summer.
The move gives ABC additional hole-plugging ammo during midseason.
" 'Wipeout' is one of Endemol's most successful global hits, and it's exciting to see the brand expanding," Endemol USA chairman David Goldberg said. "I'm thrilled that fans of the summer version will now be able to get their fix of laughs and wipeouts set in a winter wonderland."

tvcrazed 10-13-2010, 08:17 AM A little worried about this, I think one of the things that helps it do as well in Summer is because it's not on all year. I dont think AGT would do as well if it was on all year. The Bachelorette is lower in Summer than The Bachelor is in Winter. I have always applauded ABCs restraint because the obvious thing to do is run it during the season. Maybe just being used for Jan/Feb won't be too bad. I hope that doesnt mean there will be less eps in Summer
Pavan 10-13-2010, 10:36 AM Thursdays at 8 in Jan/Feb? Winter Wipeout is 8 episodes. Regular summer episodes will have 16:
ABC ANNOUNCES WINTER “WIPEOUT” SET TO PREMIERE IN JANUARY
The Big Balls are shivering in anticipation because this January, ABC’s “Wipeout” is back with a brand new “Winter Wonderland” course, complete with slippery ice, frosty snow and numerous avalanches of Wipeouts. Cold climate-loving contestants will bundle up as they compete on all-new stunts such as the Spanker Sleds, the Wipeout Ski Lift and the Polar Bear Run. So cozy up by the fire with a cup of hot chocolate, and join us for a winter edition that is sure to “Wipeout” your winter blues. This new winter series will be in addition to the summer series of season four, bringing the season episode order to 24 episodes.
“’Wipeout’ is one of Endemol’s most successful global hits, and it’s exciting to see the brand expanding,” said David Goldberg, Chairman of Endemol USA. “I’m thrilled that fans of the summer version will now be able to get their fix of laughs and wipeouts set in a winter wonderland.”
“Wipeout” is hosted by John Anderson (ESPN’s “SportsCenter,”), John Henson (E! Entertainment’s “Talk Soup”) and co-hosted by Jill Wagner.
In Wipeout, 24 energetic, new contestants of all ages, shapes and sizes go head to head through four rounds of demanding but hilarious obstacle courses to win the title of “Wipeout Champion” and the $50,000 grand prize. In the end, only one contestant will be victorious, while everyone else will Wipeout!
“Wipeout” executive producers are Matt Kunitz (“Fear Factor”) and Scott Larsen. Shye Sutherland, Kevin Wehrenberg, Trice Barto and J. Rupert Thompson are co-executive producers. The series is produced by Endemol USA. David Goldberg is the chairman of Endemol North America.
tvcrazed 10-13-2010, 11:19 AM I dont know why they just dont order 30 eps and have 22 for Summer. Even a 26 order would be better. They were producing 26 EM:HE and I'd assume thats way more complicated
tvcrazed 10-13-2010, 11:21 AM With the way Tuesdays are shaking out, I feel they need some reality hit there (not sure which one). NOF was down again and I strongly believe in that show, but come December just adding V to the mix feels like it will just be another low rated night, even though it makes sense on paper.
Pavan 10-13-2010, 11:27 AM Only options for Winter Wipeout are Thursdays at 8 and Tuesdays at 8. If Tuesdays at 8, they would have No Ordinary Family move to 9pm. If it's Thursdays at 8, then we know V isn't coming here and Secret Millionaire is airing in Nov/Dec. I'm fine with either move.
I agree about the episode total, but perhaps a few of those are two-hour specials (like the Blind Date one we had this summer) and they count as one episode.
Pavan 10-13-2010, 12:09 PM As announced last night, there will be an ABC News special on the Chilean miners tonight and Supernanny returns Nov. 5:

[The Whole Truth is preempted on this night.]
Fridays, Effective Friday, November 5, 2010
8:00pm Supernanny (all-new season)
Comments: This probably means Secret Millionaire is now Thursdays at 8 starting Nov. 4, but V still could air there, though it is more likely for Tuesdays once Dancing ends.
tvcrazed 10-13-2010, 03:06 PM Any chance ABC is replacing some of TWT promo with PP promos tonight? There seems to be a good promotable ep this week and the only promo it gets is at 9:55 on Thu. Hell they even promote B&S on Wed and no PP. They gave many slots to TWT this week when even if it was gonna air everyone knows its done come sweeps. The lack of promos for BWY and PP with the plethora of TWT promos makes me scratch my head.

Pavan 10-14-2010, 02:37 PM MY PREDICTION since now we know what ABC is doing in Nov/Dec on Thurs at 8:
Mondays starting November 29 for 4 weeks:
8:00pm Skating with the Stars (wt, would launch Nov. 22 at 9 following DWTS: The Finals)
- The Bachelor would take the slot in January. Castle encores from 9-11pm on Dec. 13/20.
Tuesdays starting November 30 for 4 weeks:
8:00pm Second Night of Holiday Specials (like Charlie Brown Christmas, etc)
9:00pm No Ordinary Family (would move to this hour)
10:00pm Detroit 1-8-7
- Winter Wipeout would take the Tuesdays at 8 hour in January/February. V would launch in January at 10 (don't think it is wise now to launch Nov. 30).
Wednesdays, starting in January
10:00pm Detroit 1-8-7 (new night)
Thursdays starting in January
8:00pm Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition
- Holiday specials in Nov/Dec in this slot. Secret Millionaire is reportedly going to Sun at 8 starting March 6.
Not sure about the new comedies. There is not much room in January. I think Body of Proof and Off the Map are certainly not launching until March.
spunkygirl 10-14-2010, 03:28 PM Well it looks like neither V or Secret Millionaire is getting the Thursday at 8pm slot it seems starting Nov. 4:
Thursday, November 18, 2010
8:00pm A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving
Thursday, December 2, 2010
8:00pm Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town
Thursday, December 9, 2010
8:00pm Shrek the Halls
8:30pm Disney Prep & Landing
I guess specials/repeats will air at 8pm on Nov. 4 and 11 during sweeps? I hope they encore Charlie Brown Thanksgiving on Wednesday, Nov. 24. I am assuming Secret Millionaire will take the Thurs at 8pm slot come January?
Yay! Charlie Brown & SCICTT are my two favorites :D
benjamoon 10-14-2010, 03:51 PM ABC is run by people who don't know how to schedule. They've let dying shows last in timeslots that should be given to new shows for too long and then constantly launch new shows in slots that fail (Weds 10pm, Thurs 8pm). Now the only drama that premiered strong (No Ordinary Family) is falling apart. It was FOURTH in the demo, behind The Biggest Loser, on Tues.
They should make some bold scheduling moves like CBS did this fall. Here's what I would do for midseason
Mondays
8:00 The Bachelor/Dancing with the Stars
10:00 Body of Proof
-- It's time to let "Castle" fly on its own. Use the "Dancing" lead-in to launch a promising new drama.
Tuesdays
before DWTS comes back
8:00 No Ordinary Family
9:00 V
10:00 Detroit 1-8-7
after DWTS comes back
8:00 Dancing with the Stars Results
9:00 Mr. Sunshine
9:30 Cougar Town
10:00 Detroit 1-8-7
-- Branch out the comedies and give them the "Dancing" lead-in. "Cougar Town" squanders too much of "Modern Family"'s lead-in.
Wednesdays
8:00 The Middle
8:30 Better With You
9:00 Modern Family
9:30 Happy Endings
10:00 Private Practice
-- "Better With You" may not make it but if it does, send "Cougar Town" to Tuesdays and try a new comedy after their biggest hit comedy. "Private Practice" doesn't deserve a "Grey's" lead-in anymore. It can give a try on Weds at 10, it can't do worse than the occupants over the last year have
Thursdays
8:00 Wipeout/No Ordinary Family
9:00 Grey's Anatomy
10:00 Off the Map
-- "No Ordinary Family" might have a chance on a slightly less competitive 8pm shot, although I think it should go to Sundays at 8 (like it ORIGINALLY should have). "Off the Map" would be perfectly compatible with "Grey's"
Fridays
8:00 ? (Secret Millionaire, Supernanny, Wife Swap, Wipeout, V(?))
10:00 20/20
-- Ehh whatever fits. Either reality shows or burn offs. I would like to see "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" go to 8pm Friday and as mentioned, "No Ordinary Family" to Sundays
Saturdays
whatever
Sundays
7:00 AFHV
8:00 Extreme Makeover: Home Edition
9:00 Desperate Housewives
10:00 Castle
-- "Castle" should be given a chance away from "Dancing" and I think it would be smart to send it to Sundays. "Brothers & Sisters" can wrap up its season before "Castle" slides over
Pavan 10-14-2010, 04:22 PM No Ordinary Family is "falling apart" yet you're leaving it on at the same time on Tuesdays in your suggestion? It hasn't tumbled like The Event and you'll see NOF level off now and stay in the 2.3-2.7 range (unless it moves to 9, then it will be higher). Sorry but those changes are way too many and ABC is fine on Thursdays, Mondays and Sundays at 10 right now, so why change it? What's the point in moving them around? Only moving Castle makes sense, but to Wednesdays at 10. Thursdays at 8 should be reality from Jan-May, there is too many scripted series in that hour. There is no point in moving No Ordinary Family there. It's either Tuesday at 9 or Sunday at 8, and I would rather it be Tues at 9. Scheduling the two mid-season comedies is the hardest thing I think. I would prefer them all on one night because it is great counter-programming to CBS/NBC at 10. I can see them moving Detroit here in January, though.
CBS's "bold" moves hasn't really helped them on Mondays and Thursdays, I think. Sundays are better than last fall because of Undercover Boss. Wednesdays at 8pm is the only slot they changed that they are up vs. last season, but the 10pm replacement isn't strong. Fridays is pretty much even thanks to Medium tanking at 8. They should have just kept Ghost Whisperer instead. Thursdays at 8 they are either even or a bit down because of Shat My Dad Says.
Pavan 10-14-2010, 04:41 PM Dancing with the Stars S11 finale times:
Monday, November 22, 2010
8:00pm-9:01pm Dancing with the Stars: The Finals
[TBD will air at 9pm. My guess: Strictly Ice Dancing.]
Tuesday, November 23, 2010
9:00pm-11:00pm Dancing with the Stars: Grand Finale
[Detroit 1-8-7 is preempted at 10pm on this night.]
- With these times, I don't think V launches now in November. I was assuming it would launch Nov. 23 after DWTS, but DWTS is 9-11pm instead of 8-10. V probably will air on Tuesdays at 10 starting in January. And this probably means No Ordinary Family will not move to 9pm in November, since the DWTS finale starts at 9, so maybe it moves in December with holiday specials as its lead-in? I'm guessing Detroit moves to Wednesdays at 10 in January and it will have plenty of originals to air in December on Tuesdays, if needed, since it is preempted three times (Nov. 2, 9 and 23). Updated prediction: http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/showpost.php?p=4481018&postcount=154

In regards to NOF on my schedule, I left it there because I didn't find anywhere better for it until the spring, when I moved it to Thursdays. You'll have to forgive me if I'm skeptical that YOU think it's leveled off. I don't think it's done dropping yet. You also thought it might rise (according to the blog) both in Week 2 and Week 3 and it certainly didn't do that. Just like "The Event" for NBC, it's not anywhere close to the hit ABC was hoping for. I'm not sure Thurs at 8pm is a great option, I think the best choice is Sunday at 8pm (again, where it should have been the whole time).
I disagree about the comedies at 10pm. I don't know what the answer is for that hour, and I guess it may be worth a shot, but I don't see comedies working at 10pm. Especially if one of those is "Cougar Town" which would just fall off the map in that hour. I thought last spring and still think that Tuesday at 9 is a perfect place. It would be great counter programming even when FOX has what will likely be a weakened "American Idol" there.
And I think CBS's bold moves have positioned them well for the future. They have moved some of their dying dramas (CSI: Miami, CSI: NY) and even cancelled some still decent performers (Ghost Whisperer, Cold Case). Even if the current crop of new shows doesn't catch on (and they're ALL catching on more than ANY of ABC, NBC, and FOX's new offerings), they are giving high profile slots to new titles which will help them stay dominant for years because they will hit on some of them. And moving "The Big Bang Theory" to Thursday at 8pm may have dampened its ratings a tad but they are laying the foundation for what could eventually be a strong second night of comedy.
ABC on the other hand seems content to continue to let dying shows follow their biggest hits. They could have used "Desperate Housewives" and "Grey's Anatomy" as a launching pad for new shows but now those two show are declining and they've let "Private Practice" and "Brothers & Sisters" pull mediocre numbers in these plum slots forever.
Pavan 10-14-2010, 06:20 PM There is a better place for NOF: Tuesdays at 9. Much better than moving it so fast to another night. 90% of the time a new night for a very new series, doesn't work (Life on Mars saw that happen). And The Event started higher than NOF and was more highly touted everywhere this summer (and everything new on NBC did pretty poorly). I don't see NOF dropping this week. If it does, then I'm wrong. 2.3 is still higher than The Event from Minday, and that show doesn't have to face Glee/NCIS. They should move it to 9pm starting Oct. 26. At least there is positive reaction to NOF's episodes every week, something that can't be said for shows like The Event and Hawaii Five-0. CBS has to be disappointed in that show's performance, as it is doing lower numbers than CSI: Miami, which you called "dying?" I don't think that was close to dying. The original CSI is more dying than that show. The CBS moves are not all that good as people think they are. The only thing I see them working at in the future is the Thursday comedy block from 8-10, but that will be hard to do without a second hit on the night, which means something from Monday would have to move (like Mother) to anchor an hour. Obviously CBS has had the most success this fall so far because they have placed all of their new shows behind their huge shows (Big Bang, Criminal Minds, Two and a Half Men), but they haven't come close to the original timeslot holders like Big Bang, CSI Miami and CSI NY. They would have been just fine leaving everything as it is and just moving Big Bang/Survivor instead of CSI Miami, CSI NY, too. Something like this:
Mon - same as now with Mike & Molly, but CSI Miami at 10
Tues - same
Wed - Survivor/Criminal Minds/CSI NY
Thurs - same with Big Bang
Fri - Medium/Defenders/Blue Bloods - still have a problem with Medium over Ghost, though
Sun - 60 Min/Race/Undercover Boss/Hawaii Five-0
How many times has Grey's Anatomy and LOST been used to launch new series? So many times. And there has been nothing consistent out of that. Six Degrees, Big Shots, etc. Private Practice is consistent at least. Not sure how you think they are mediocre, because both B&S and Private are still among the highest rated 10pm shows in 18-49 for 10pm with a 3.0 average... And Grey's is declining? Last I checked it is one of the top shows for scripted TV.
benjamoon 10-14-2010, 06:43 PM ^^^ I know you see the world through ABC-colored glasses but I take issue with a few thoughts. First of all, I am not aware of all these positive reactions to No Ordinary Family. Last I checked, the pilot got underwhelming reviews and I haven't seen a ton of buzz for it. From my own personal standpoint, I enjoy The Event WAY more than No Ordinary Family. (And I'm not saying that because I just blindly love or hate any network, "Detroit 1-8-7" is my favorite new drama and "The Event" is second while "Mike & Molly" is my favorite new comedy, which hits three of the networks).
Also, the 2.3 is higher than The Event, that's true, but The Event is also in its fourth week. Take a look at this:
Demo performance (Weeks 1-3 of the show)
The Event:
Week 1 - 3.6
Week 2 - 2.9
Week 3 - 2.4
No Ordinary Family
Week 1 - 3.2
Week 2 - 2.7
Week 3 - 2.3
So EACH week it has been lower than The Event in the demo. I wouldn't be one bit surprised if NOF's Week 4 is lower than the 2.2 that The Event got this week. This is not to tout the ratings of The Event, which are clearly disappointing but to point out that "No Ordinary Family" has been very disappointing as well. And it's true that there isn't the NCIS/Glee competition but FOURTH in the demo? Behind "The Biggest Loser"? That shouldn't happen. And it's not like Mon 9pm is easy with competition from DWTS, Two and a Half Men, and Monday Night Football on ESPN.
"Hawaii Five-0" is certainly pulling lower numbers than CBS hoped, but you're comparing it to "CSI: Miami"'s fall numbers when it dropped tremendously in the spring. Last fall, it would get around 13 million viewers and a high 3/low 4 in the demo but by May, it was getting around 10 million and a high 2/low 3. That's a big drop, that's why it's dying. That's why it was smart to move the two CSI spinoffs before any more bleeding happened and they have already strengthened Friday 9pm and Sunday 10pm. They were weakening in their current slots but can still be strong elsewhere.
CBS could easily move towards a two hour comedy block on Thurs if "Mike & Molly" can pull it together. They could use M&M and Mother for the 8pm slot, Men and Big Bang for the 9pm slot, and the 8:30/9:30 could be a combination of Rules of Engagement, $#*! My Dad Says, Mad Love, and new shows. They have really positioned themselves well. They aren't leaving old shows to wither away in the same slots, it's a pre-emptive strike to ultimately strengthen the network.
I'm not saying everything would work out fine and dandy for ABC if they moved Private Practice and Brothers & Sisters, but why not try? Retention out of the shows that come before them has always been mediocre at best even if the overall numbers aren't bad. Right now, "Grey's" is still strong (not close to what it used to be), but in a few years Desperate Housewives, Grey's, and Brothers & Sisters will be gone or nearly gone and ABC won't have anything to replace it with if they can't launch successful new shows. And to launch successful new shows, they need to have good timeslots, not constantly getting launched Thurs at 8pm or Weds at 10pm.
I agree that CBS's new shows are getting the best numbers because they're in the best slots but that's SMART for them. They can't have the CSI franchise shows run forever, and they're thinking ahead.
Pavan 10-14-2010, 07:37 PM So No Ordinary Family was FOURTH in the demo this week. It's not like it was crushed by The Biggest Loser. TBL got a 2.4 at 8 and a 2.7 at 9. And NOF beat it the previous two weeks. That is not the point. The point is it would be much better in another slot, like Tuesday at 9, where it would do better in a higher rated time period (where The Event is). The Event should be better as it is airing in a higher HUT slot.
As for the NOF comments. I see a lot of positive comments for that show on Twitter from critics and fans. And I watch The Event, too. I like Jason Ritter and have watched all of his other shows (Joan of Arcadia and The Class). But it isn't better than NOF, to me. NOF is more mainstream and for everyone, like The Middle.
You keep saying ABC won't have anything to replace their shows with (Desperate/Grey's are still among the top series)...well do you think Mike & Molly can be the Monday at 9pm anchor? Two and a Half Men is closer to ending than Grey's or Desperate. I seriously doubt it can do even 3s without Men. The only show CBS placed after a big hit that worked was Big Bang after Two and a Half Men.
Back to some scheduling news...just booked:

9:00pm-11:00pm Castle (R, two-hour)

[Regular 10pm airing is still airing.]

8:00-11:00pm ABC Monday Movie of the Week: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
benjamoon 10-14-2010, 07:48 PM So No Ordinary Family was FOURTH in the demo this week. It's not like it was crushed by The Biggest Loser. TBL got a 2.4 at 8 and a 2.7 at 9. And NOF beat it the previous two weeks. That is not the point. The point is it would be much better in another slot, like Tuesday at 9.

I agree that NOF is more mainstream than The Event but I don't think it's better. I actually find it kind of boring. And I just don't see it gaining an audience, it might level off where it is or slightly lower but even a move to 9pm wouldn't help much, IMO.
And I think it's too early to tell about "Mike & Molly." You wouldn't have thought "The Big Bang Theory" could anchor a night at this point in its freshman season either.
Zedman2 10-14-2010, 07:49 PM http://www.deadline.com/2010/10/secret-millionaire-gets-midseason-sunday-slot-and-oscar-promo-push-on-abc/
'Secret Millionaire' Gets Midseason Sunday Slot And Oscar Promo Push On ABC
EXCLUSIVE: Secret Millionaire's prospects at ABC are getting better by the minute. First, the network pulled the new reality series from the low-profile Friday 8 PM slot where it was originally scheduled. Now I hear it is giving it Extreme Makeover: Home Edition's Sunday 8 PM time period for a six-episode midseason run starting March 6. That is the Sunday after the Academy Awards, with ABC planning to heavily promote Secret Millionaire during the awards broadcast.
For ABC, which has no football, the Oscars are the most-watched telecast of the year and the biggest possible promotional platform for its shows. Additionally, ABC has asked Secret Millionaire producer Zodiak USA to begin casting on a new cycle, an indication that the network is looking to order more episodes beyond the original 6.
ABC's Sunday 8 PM slot has already become synonymous with feel-good reality programming thanks to Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, so it is considered perfectly suited for the similarly-inspirational Secret Millionaire. The move will avoid airing Home Edition repeats and, after the 6-week hiatus, the veteran home-rebuilding show will return to its Sunday slot with originals. But, with Home Edition aging and its ratings suffering serious erosion this season, it is not inconceivable to look at Secret Millionaire's airing on Sunday as a trial run for a possible permanent spot there in the future.
Based on the Channel 4 series, Secret Millionaire follows successful U.S businessmen who spend a week in the country’s poorest areas and at the end of their stay reveal their true identity and give deserving people in the community hundreds of thousands of dollars of their own money. Secret Millionaire started gaining support among ABC executives when they began to see cuts at the beginning of the summer, with its fan base at the network growing with every delivered episode. After he joined ABC in August, new president Paul Lee, who is British and reportedly a fan of the original U.K. series, also liked it, and talk started about finding a better spot on the schedule for the show and giving it a proper launch. The ABC version of Secret Millionaire is said to be different from the one that ran as a strip on Fox in 2008. While Fox's series went more for shock value in depicting poor people's plight, the ABC has an emphasis on the emotional experience. It is faithful to the original but is faster-paced, and the actual giving is a lot more prominent.
With its new time slot assignment, Secret Millionaire will air on the same night as CBS' similarly-themed Undercover Boss. Both originated in the U.K. but Millionaire preceded Boss by 3 years. Zodiak USA's Grant Mansfield, who, as managing director of RDF U.K. oversaw the production of every episode of the original Secret Millionaire, is executive producing the ABC adaptation with Claire O'Donohoe, Natalka Znak and Leslie Garvin. Paul Osborne is co-executive producer.
Pavan 10-14-2010, 08:21 PM Interesting about Secret Millionaire. I like test runs and resting of shows better than just moving the previous show out right (that worked with Grey's when it was given the Sunday 10pm slot to test with Boston Legal resting). I can see ABC doing this with Private Practice and having Off the Map get a trial run in March or something.
Anyway, some Monday updates and a Thursday update if you didn't see it above earlier:
Monday, December 13, 2010
9:00pm-11:00pm Castle (R, two-hour)
Thursday, December 16, 2010
8:00pm A Charlie Brown Christmas (plus all-new seven-minute short from Prep & Landing: Operation Secret Santa.)

8:00-11:00pm ABC Monday Movie of the Week: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
From Nov. 22-Dec. 20 I bet Skating with the Stars airs. Maybe a preview on Monday at 9 after the DWTS: The Finals, then air the next four weeks on Mondays at 8 with maybe the finale (episode six) the next night on Tuesday, Dec. 21?
benjamoon 10-14-2010, 08:32 PM Interesting about Secret Millionaire. I like test runs and resting of shows better than just moving the previous show out right (that worked with Grey's when it was given the Sunday 10pm slot to test with Boston Legal resting).
We agree on something! haha. I would like to see some trial runs too. Another good choice would be letting Body of Proof get a shot on Mondays after DWTS. Let "Castle" be new every week during The Bachelor's run then give it a 6 week rest. If Body of Proof hits, then maybe think about permanently moving Castle.
JulieSomoski 10-14-2010, 09:34 PM Apparently, Brothers & Sisters, No Ordinary Family, and Off the Map are getting additional script orders (of 4), which I'm sure will eventually lead to additional episode orders. So, it seems like B&S is getting the full season I thought it would, and since OTM is also getting an extended season (I'm not sure what it had in the first place), I highly doubt we'll see those 2 sharing a timeslot. My guess is B&S will stay on Sundays all season (especially now that Secret Millionaire could rejuvenate the night, and airing right before Undercover Boss, that's a likely possibility), with Off the Map going elsewhere.
But, what they'll do I have no idea. Honestly, the predictions you guys have given are all over the place. They could really do anything, but I think we'll see Off the Map end up somewhere in January, with Body of Proof likely held off until March (probably in place of Detroit).
Pavan 10-15-2010, 02:56 AM Another Thanksgiving Beyonce concert is airing this year. Last year ABC did decent with Beyonce: I Am Yours. This year it is Beyonce and the World:
Thursday, November 25
9:30-11pm Beyonce and the World
All the world's a stage for international superstar Beyonce when ABC presents her biggest hits performed across six continents at the world's greatest venues.
In her second ABC Thanksgiving night special, Beyoncé shows viewers what it takes to mount a huge extravagant concert production night-after-night, while travelling the world – from Croatia to Abu Dhabi to Africa, Australia and China – to perform 90 concerts with her famously all-female band.
During the special, Beyoncé sings duets with husband Jay-Z and engages backstage with special guests like Lady Gaga and Rihanna, who come to see her perform. It's all captured on film by Beyoncé's crew, along with choreographic moves, costumes and life back-stage throughout the tour.
Much of the video for this special was directed by Beyoncé herself, who brings family members into the act with news of their latest endeavors in retail, Gospel Music, and songwriting (Beyoncé performs younger sister Solange's song "Why Don't You Love Me").
With previously unseen material from thousands of hours of intimate coverage, viewers will see Beyoncé as her tour members see her – unfiltered, real, living a life at full throttle, without compromise.
Pavan 10-15-2010, 01:12 PM As I thought, Skating with the Stars gets Mondays at 8 starting in late November and V returns to Tuesdays in January. I'll have exact time and dates for everything in a bit, but here are the press releases:

SEASON PREMIERE
SEASON TWO OF “V” WILL PREMIERE JANUARY 4, 2011, ON ABC
“V,” the thrilling drama series about the world’s first alien encounter that captivated viewers last season, will make its highly-anticipated season premiere on TUESDAY, JANUARY 4 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on ABC.
Simultaneously appearing over every major city in the world, the Visitors (or V’s) arrived offering us the wonders of their technology and promoting peace. While the world quickly embraced the V's as saviors, an FBI Counter Terrorist Agent, and others making up the resistance group called The Fifth Column, quickly discovered that the Visitors are not who they said they were. Will humanity stop being fooled and realize the Visitors true intentions before it becomes too late and they take over Earth?
"V," which received an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Special Visual Effects For A Series, stood as television's No. 1 new drama during the 09-10 TV season in the key Adult 18-49 sales demographic, delivering substantial year-to-year improvement in both of its Tuesday time periods (8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.). “V” finished No. 1 in both time periods among key Men (M18-34/M18-49).
Season 2 will feature more character and lizard reveals, more details about the V’s mythology, while along the way featuring even more action and more plot twists. Viewers can expect a roller coaster ride week to week.
“V” stars Elizabeth Mitchell as Erica Evans, Morris Chestnut as Ryan Nichols, Joel Gretsch as Father Jack, Charles Mesure as Kyle Hobbes, Logan Huffman as Tyler Evans, Laura Vandervoort as Lisa, with Morena Baccarin as Anna and Scott Wolf as Chad Decker. New recurring stars for this season include Jane Badler as Diana, Oded Fehr as Eli Cohn, Jay Karnes as Chris Bolling and Bret Harrison as Dr. Sidney Miller.
“V” is produced by HDFilms in association with Warner Bros. Television. The executive producers are Scott Rosenbaum, Steve Pearlman and Jace Hall.

8:00pm Winter Wipeout (all-new, 8 episodes)
tvcrazed 10-15-2010, 01:55 PM All the outlets reporting it, have SWTS results show Tues at 8
tvcrazed 10-15-2010, 02:01 PM Kinda surprised that WIPEOUT is not going to Tues. As is, Tuesday is 3 lower rated shows at best. Tuesdays need WIPEOUT more than Thursdays.
Only thing I can think of is that ABC will see how NOF does in coming weeks and if it doesnt pick up WIPEOUT will go Tues and NOF will get moved either Sun or Thurs, although I don't think ABC shoudl air anything but reality Thurs at 8p
tvcrazed 10-15-2010, 02:12 PM So according to FUTON as you predcicted Pavan, more holiday specials Tues at 8, no results show
Pavan 10-15-2010, 02:35 PM Yeah, no results show for Skating with the Stars. Just the finale is Tuesday at 8 on Dec. 21. Holiday specials on Nov. 30, Dec. 7 and 14...just edited the titles in above.
It is interesting that 9:30pm is TBD on Monday, Nov. 29 and Dec. 6. I guess Wipeout is Thurs at 8 starting Jan. 6. ABC is still mulling Tuesdays on having V at 8 and NOF at 9, though starting Jan. 4. And they are still mulling to change NOF's time to 9pm even before Nov. 30. Perhaps Oct. 26 or Nov. 9.
tvcrazed 10-15-2010, 02:47 PM Yeah, no results show for Skating with the Stars. Just the finale is Tuesday at 8 on Dec. 21. Holiday specials on Nov. 30, Dec. 7 and 14, but I don't know what yet so it's TBD.
It is interesting that 9:30pm is TBD on Nov. 29 and Dec. 26 or Nov. 9.
The fact that they havent announced WIPEOUT Thurs makes me think these things are still in flux based on NOF performance in next few weeks. Surprised they made all these announcements this early.
Its only two weeks for Mondays 9:30 could always go with comedy rerun
Pavan 10-15-2010, 02:55 PM If they keep NOF at 8pm before Nov. 30: they will have aired 8 episodes through and including Nov. 23. Probably will be new on Nov. 30 and Dec. 7 only for a total of 10 episodes aired in the first half.
If they change NOF to 9pm before Nov. 30: they will have aired 7 episodes through Nov. 23 (preempted on 11/23 for DWTS finale). So then they can be new on Nov. 30, Dec. 7 and 14 for a total of 10 episodes aired in first half.
Hopefully it is the latter and the time changes to 9pm on Oct. 26 or Nov. 9 (Nov. 2 it is preempted either way). I assume Detroit 1-8-7 (since it is preempted three times in sweep), will be all-new on Nov. 30, Dec. 7 and 14.
Pavan 10-15-2010, 03:30 PM Another tidbit...The Bachelor 15, premieres Monday, Jan. 3 as we know, will have its season finale on Monday, March 14, 2011. So that is 11 weeks, which includes the Women Tell All on March 7. Dancing with the Stars 12 would start March 21.
tvcrazed 10-15-2010, 03:45 PM Can I just say publicly that I am so impressed with Paul Lee already. He's already addressing the things many of us have said for years re: extending the reality cycles etc. All his moves of late really impress me. Whether it works or not his December sked is the best ABC has had in years. He's made moves to make the network as competetive as possible. I'm impressed. That is all

Zedman2 10-18-2010, 09:52 PM http://www.deadline.com/2010/10/abc-trims-v-order-to-10-episodes/
I hear the order of ABC's sophomore sci-fi drama V is being reduced from 13 to 10 episodes for scheduling reasons. ABC last week announced that V will return January 4 and will air in Dancing with the Stars' result show slot at 9 PM on Tuesdays, following fellow sci-fi drama No Ordinary Family. That gives V a 12-episode window until the spring season premiere of Dancing on March 29, but I hear the period is expected to include 2 preemptions, leading to V's order getting trimmed. Since the series is still filming, V producers will adjust the storyline for a proper season ending.

I don't think we'll see it again after Oct 27. I'm glad to see "Detroit 1-8-7" getting an airing back. It is BY FAR the best new drama on ABC this year.
Cyrax 10-23-2010, 05:47 AM Could you please list all the remaining dates of 2010 that still have original Castle episodes scheduled? Those preemptions got confusing.
Also, is the sitcom block preempted on Nov. 10/17/24?
Pavan 10-23-2010, 10:22 AM Castle is new every week through and including Nov. 15. It is preempted on Nov. 22 and 29. Not sure about Dec. 6 yet, and Dec. 13/20 are two-hour repeats.
Sitcom block is only preempted on November 10 for the CMA's. It is all-new on Nov. 17 and 24.
tvcrazed 10-23-2010, 10:32 AM If Skating with The Stars works (there's no guarantee), they should re-run the premiere Thanksgiving Fri from 8-10, but wait until Tuesday after the premiere to announce it.
If it does well, ABC should either a) make it two hours every Monday of its run or b) run the previous week at 8 and new ep at 9 (the weeks that it is one hour) as it will be competing with The Singing Bee.

JulieSomoski 10-23-2010, 02:07 PM Did ABC learn nothing from last year? Here come more series lows on November 24th.
I agree. This is absolutely absurd. All 3 of their comedies hit series lows last year on this night, and they still remain the series lows for all 3. What is ABC thinking scheduling new episodes on this date again? They really need to save new episodes for later on in the season. Repeats or a movie would be better used here.

Well ABC never learns from their mistakes lol
Look at Weds 10pm!
Pavan 10-23-2010, 03:00 PM ABC completely realizes they are down on Thanksgiving Eve, but they cannot do anything about it. It is sweeps and affiliates want fresh programming with their regular series (it's all about ad sales, more than ratings!). I have brought it up a number of times. At least the comedies do OK, a few years ago Pushing Daisies/Private Practice/Dirty Sexy Money did way worse and hurt them in the weeks after. The comedies bounced back quickly.
All of the networks are all-new on Thanksgiving Eve with regular programming but NBC.
Pavan 10-26-2010, 12:16 AM ABC ANNOUNCES SERIES PICK-UPS
NEW SERIES “BETTER WITH YOU” AND “NO ORDINARY FAMILY”

And both sisters could surely learn something about relationships from their long-married parents. With three very different relationships, is it free thinkers vs. over-thinkers, or will each couple begin to see things a little bit differently? ”Better with You” stars JoAnna Garcia as Mia, Jennifer Finnigan as Maddie, Josh Cooke as Ben, Jake Lacey as Casey, with Kurt Fuller as Joel and Debra Jo Rupp as Vicky. The series is created by Shana Goldberg-Meehan and executive-produced by Goldberg-Meehan and Greg Malins. The show is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Silver and Gold Productions and Warner Bros. Television.
Superbowl 10-26-2010, 12:23 AM I am very happy "Better With You" was picked up. Good show that is growing on me every week.
Pavan 10-26-2010, 12:55 AM Confirmed episode count for these shows that were picked-up:
Better With You: 22 (9 more added)
No Ordinary Family: 22 (9 more added)
Brothers & Sisters: 22 (4 more added)
Detroit 1-8-7: 18 (5 more added)
The Whole Truth will not go beyond its 13 episodes. And the other ABC returning series are mostly 23-24 episodes, like last year.
Pavan 10-26-2010, 12:24 PM Heads up! Off the Map is premiering soon on ABC (probably January). Promo premieres this Thursday during Grey's Anatomy. Be on the look out. There might be a premiere date and time even.

It has to be Wednesdays at 10pm. Unless...ABC moves Castle to that timeslot and puts Off the Map Mondays at 10pm.
I'd imagine Body of Proof will go to Thursdays at 8pm or Tuesdays at 10pm then, probably in March.
Cyrax 10-27-2010, 06:36 AM Tuesday 10 pm would be better for Body of Proof, it really has no chance against Bones, for being similar to it.
MrCleveland 10-27-2010, 07:16 AM If "No Ordinary Family" gets canceled...then ABC will have a 30min gap like they had last year and I call that..."The Friends Syndrome".
Why?
8pm-Friends
8:30pm-Weak Sitcom
9pm-Seinfeld/Frasier
See the pattern? This is what happened in the 90's on NBC. But from what I'm hearing, "No Ordinary Family" is a hit...but not a success....
Pavan 10-27-2010, 10:48 AM No Ordinary Family is not a sitcom, MrCleveland, it's a one-hour family drama. I think you meant Better With You. Both have been picked-up for the full season, though, so they are not going anywhere.

Yeah...that's what I mean....
I don't watch Prime-Time TV....
Pavan 10-28-2010, 07:05 PM Looks like the Off The Map promo for tonight that was scheduled during tonight's Grey's has been pulled. Sorry.

tvcrazed 10-29-2010, 12:05 PM Time to rethink rerunning GREYS the next 2 weeks. Great Pumpkin only got a 2.2, its lowest number and even with a 1 point higher lead in GREYS dipped further and got beaten by THE OFFICE. ABC next Thursday won't be pretty. Oh and it wouldnt hurt to run more than :15 promos that start on Monday while DH gets promos starting Mon or Tues. Makes no sense.
Before anyone says well NBC comedies were all Haloween themed, so what. GREYS shouldnt get beaten by THE OFFICE
Pavan 10-29-2010, 12:17 PM So The Office wasn't pumped up by the better lead-ins? It will be back to its 3.4 or less next week. I think the 8pm hour being higher this week proves that Grey's is not lead-in dependent. Also, World Series probably didn't have any effect on Grey's. Maybe the reason for lower than normal ratings was because Grey's had a "different" type of episode. While it was great stuff, it's not what its normal viewers are accustomed to. Great quality usually doesn't mean great ratings, unfortunately. I saw a lot of feedback last night on the Grey's FB page and abc.com saying they were disappointed with the documentary style. And why won't next Thursday be pretty? It'll be higher than than last week's (Oct. 21) numbers. Private Practice has a HUGE episode that will be promoted a ton.
Great Pumpkin had a 2.0 I believe last year, so it was up from last season.

tvcrazed 10-29-2010, 12:29 PM Greys isnt lead in dependent but its still been trending down the last 2 weeks. The Office had a 3.1 lead in with the 30 Rock live ep, that didnt make it beat GREYS. I'd chalk it all up to the doc ep except GREYS was already down significantly last week. Last night it tied THE OFFICE and at 9:30 was .3 away from CSI.
Great Pumpkin 2.0 Wed was the 2nd airing. The first, the night before had a 2.7. Tonight is the second airing.
GREYS dropped at the half 3.9-3.7 - something it never does, clearly people didnt like the ep which is unfortunate since it was great but I guess people didnt like format. Still applaud them for doing it.. What I meant by not pretty next week is- the reuns are getting a 1.2 at best (so they'll already be down a point at least 8p next week). They should have had a better plan in place by now instead of those reruns. LIke I've said before Wipeout reruns could get a 2. Since this ep was not as liked in first run a rerun next thrus at 8 will probably be lower and since GREYS has trended down these last 2 weeks, theres no guarantee it will actually go up.
Yes next week PP has a special ep and it looks like ABC might promote it for a change, still no gurantee it will pop.
I am so curiuous why ABC promotes Sunday incessantly and barely promotes Thurs, especially this week. They actually have far more comeptition on Thurs.
Pavan 10-29-2010, 12:35 PM So The Office didn't beat Grey's then. It tied it. Greys always goes up in the second half-hour, so there is the reason why it was lower than The Office overall. It got a 3.9 in the first half and a 3.7 in the second half. It always goes up in the second half, so it would have been a 4.0+ for the hour. Thus, it would have beaten The Office if it had gone up its usual percentage in the second half. I think it was the documentary style that did that. It was quality television but many normal TV viewers are not used to that.
You're right about Great Pumpkin. It had two airings last year, like it did this year. I guess tonight it will be higher. Who knows with Nielsen. I don't like airing it on back-to-back nights. And about next week, it will be higher than Oct. 21 so the rerun at 8 can do the 1.2 or whatever because Grey's/Private will be higher than Oct. 21 for sure.
tvcrazed 10-29-2010, 12:35 PM They should scrap that rerun and put in a special even some kind of kind of GREYS special behind the scnes or something because if the regular ep dropped at the half the rerun which doesnt get more than a 1.2 could get under a 1.
tvcrazed 10-29-2010, 12:40 PM And about next week, it will be higher than Oct. 21 so the rerun at 8 can do the 1.2 or whatever because Grey's/Private will be higher than Oct. 21 for sure.
With all due respect, there is no guarantee it will be higher next week. It was a 4.0 last week. Even if PP gets a bump, there is no guarantee GREYS will and why even show the rerun again, if people were checking out in the middle of this one - something they never do.
CSI has been closer to GREYS the last 2 weeks and last night THE OFFICE was too. I appreciate your positive spin, but you can be sure ABC is concerned. There was a wide lead at start of season, the last 2 weeks it has diminished. Theres no guarentee next week it will miraculously reappear and 8p is a bigger problem next week. GREYS is usually strongest in Fall. If its already trending down like this, post Jan is gonna be tough and we dont even know what FOX will do yet. I still think GLEE or IDOL is coming to Thurs.
tvcrazed 10-29-2010, 12:58 PM Not to beat a dead horse but Private Practice got a 2.7 with zero promotion. CBS promotes THE MENTALIST regualrly. Im not saying that PP would suddenly get a 3.5 but maybe people would tune if they sold it and it could bump up a .2. Similarly in addition to ABC barely promoting GREYS this week, when it did it was a :15 that hardly sold the specialness of the ep. Obviously some people didnt like it, but theres a lot of positive feedback to it as well online. If they had a :30 running and running a lot who knows some other people might have checked it out. My point is they barely promoted it and after the dip last week, they should have. Seriously why does EM:HE need all the promos it gets all week. It's not even cracking a 2.5. Last season finale of GREYS rose highly and ABC ran great promos and ran the hell out of them. Obviously last nights ep didnt provide that kind of a promotional hook. I guess I just dont understand their promotoional priorities.
Modern Family and ABC Wednesday got great promos this week and they all bumped up, but even if new people tuned in for the Haloween theme, they knew to because they saw the promos.
Promos dont always translate into ratings, but they dont hurt and you need to seell your biggest and most important shows .
Pavan 10-29-2010, 12:58 PM I guess we'll see then. I think Grey's will be higher than a 4.0 and Private higher than a 2.7. Grey's could have been this week if not for the second half drop. I don't mind the rerun next week. Maybe the viewers who tuned out in the second half will tune in at 8:30 for the Grey's pre-tune in. It's not likely the encore will have the drop in the second half because of the pre- tune-in. Financially for Thursday they are better off airing the Grey's encore than any other repeat (Wipeout). They already have specials lined up elsewhere where they need it a bit more (Wed at 10).
BTW, Santa Clause 2 and 3 will air Sunday, Dec. 19. Just edited it in the previous update. See full list: http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/showpost.php?p=4481014&postcount=153
And Grey's was barely promoted this week? I saw a ton of promos on all of their shows, but they were mostly 15 seconds. It was still promoted, though.
tvcrazed 10-29-2010, 01:14 PM I watch enough ABC to know it wasn't promoted before Monday and when it was they were :15 which is so quick and in this case didn't convery the uniqueness of this ep.
I could pick so many things it could have replaced - The Whole Truth promos, DH promos on Tuesday, EM:HE. There are certain things they cant control and certainly Nielsen numbers seem so random at times, but they can control promotion.
I get that a GREYS rerun brings in more money, I honestly do. But I also think their whole night suffers currently and for Sweeps, I think they should aim higher. But hopefully you're right.
tvcrazed 10-29-2010, 01:17 PM BTW, Santa Clause 2 and 3 will air Sunday, Dec. 19. Just edited it in the previous update. .
I guess Dec 12th will be some kind of 2 hour EM:HE
ruballo12 10-29-2010, 07:11 PM do u know if the first santa clause will air on here also??
Pavan 10-29-2010, 07:40 PM No, only Santa Clause 2 and 3. They haven't had the rights to part one in quite sometime, but ABC Family has gotten rights and will air it this year.
yankeesrj12 10-29-2010, 09:52 PM I watch enough ABC to know it wasn't promoted before Monday and when it was they were :15 which is so quick and in this case didn't convery the uniqueness of this ep.

Does a show like Grey's Anatomy even need promotions? I mean, come on, the show has been in the same timeslot for years. If fans want to watch it, they know when it airs. Grey's Anatomy is just facing the decline of a show in its later seasons.

benjamoon 11-02-2010, 02:46 PM foolish foolish foolish ABC
How many times are they going to launch a new drama on Weds at 10pm? I realize Off the Map may bit a bit more of a self-starter than The Whole Truth or Happy Town, but still. It's not a guaranteed slam dunk. Move an underachieving drama (*cough*Brothers and Sisters*cough*Private Practice*cough*) there and give a new drama a chance!
It's almost like ABC doesn't WANT their new dramas to succeed. They keep using Weds 10pm and Thurs 8pm and failing. They launch No Ordinary Family in a timeslot where it's getting crushed. Just silly moves from the alphabet network...
tvcrazed 11-02-2010, 03:09 PM Well I agree with you about the scheduling of NOF which still baffles me, but in ABCs defense regarding 10p, they have 3 nights that are working. If they moved PP or B&S to Wed at 10p theres a chance it could flop and the new show not do well either. If they were in a better position, I agree, a risk miught be worth taking but at this point I think they're doing the right thing. If Off The Map is gonna work, it should work here, out of CT, they're both female skewing and it is counter programming to the other shows at 10p.
Pavan 11-02-2010, 04:02 PM Agreed, tvcrazed. They have three 10pm shows that do well and are among the top 10pm series on TV in 18-49 in Castle, Private Practice, and Brothers & Sisters averaging over a 2.7 (only others are Five-0, The Mentalist, and whenever it airs on time CSI: Miami). Too risky to move those--especially in the middle of a season. It's not just copy and paste, and bam you have same numbers they have in their current slots. I personally would have launched Off the Map Thurs at 10, with Private taking a breather for a bit (not moved!). I would have tried the comedies at 10, but it all depends on how the episodes of Mr. Sunshine and Happy Endings are coming out. You can't just schedule them without seeing episodes.
I think Off the Map has a chance (plus they are high on it, ordering 6 more episodes after seeing scripts/post-pilot episodes). It's not like The Defenders and Law & Order: LA are tearing it up in the ratings. Good counter-programming with Off the Map, which Shonda Rhimes is a part of it, so you bet it will get a heavy promo push (starts this Thursday during Grey's). If it were Body of Proof airing Wed at 10, then that would be "foolish" to go up against two other crime dramas. Off the Map or the comedies were the best bet I think. I think the comedies would have been better way to go, but I don't know how Sunshine/Happy are coming out yet. I think Off the Map will be fine, though. I'm guessing around the same area of their other 10pm hits.
I'm hoping No Ordinary Family gets a special time of 9pm airings on Nov. 9 and 16., before its three special airings at 9 starting Nov. 30.
Cyrax 11-02-2010, 04:14 PM ABC Sunday will be repeats on Sunday, Nov. 28. Thus, it looks like ABC Sunday will be all-new on Sunday, Dec. 5 and Sunday, Dec. 12 this season.
What about November 21, is it all-new?
tvcrazed 11-02-2010, 04:17 PM 11/21 are the AMA's
Cyrax 11-02-2010, 04:20 PM 11/21 are the AMA's
Ah yes, indeed. I got confused because it's not on Pavan's list and I wasn't sure that both CMA and AMA aired on the same network. ;)
tvcrazed 11-02-2010, 04:24 PM Agreed, tvcrazed. They have three 10pm shows that do well and are among the top 10pm series on TV in 18-49 in Castle, Private Practice, and Brothers & Sisters averaging over a 2.7 (only others are Five-0, The Mentalist, and whenever it airs on time CSI: Miami). Well said and I really like your "cut and paste" analogy. That is a perfect and succint way to explain it. I am sure ABC is thinking why bench PP when its one of their 3 perfomers and this way, there's only one new slot to promote and worry about. I actually think if OTM is gonna work, it would work here. Plus like you said ABC will promote the hell out of it. It's being given a chance, it's not like other offerings in that hour (even if CBS moves CM spinoff here, its totally different).
About NOF, those post DWTS airings are not being helped because the first night CBS has as big or bigger lead in with Rudolf. NBC is using MITWI at 8p to lead into TBL starting Dec 7th. Honestly their best shot to see if it can stablize will be next few weeks with DWTS as a lead in. Its not gonna get any easier after DWTS wraps.
mtlguy 11-02-2010, 05:54 PM If CM: Suspect Behavior is in the same slot, there will be 2 Mark Gordon show facing each other...just an interesting fact. I think Off The Map has a very good chance there. PP was launched on Wednesday and did well at 9pm, no reason 10pm won`t
Pavan 11-02-2010, 06:14 PM Update: Happy Feet is airing the day after Thanksgiving from 8-10. They don't have Polar Express this year it seems. It isn't listed in their available movies (see earlier in this thread for specials/movies).

8:00pm-11:00pm ABC Saturday Movie of the Week: The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe
See post #153 for the updated schedule, as always.
tvcrazed 11-02-2010, 06:31 PM Bummer rhat THE WHOLE TRUTH isnt on Sat in December. Hopefully they just save em for Summer, because if they air them in Dec on Wed Im expecting less than 1. It got a 1.1 last week. I just dont think it help CT when its lead out is virtually non existent.
Zedman2 11-02-2010, 07:49 PM Any word on when ABC is airing Disneys' 'Phineas and Ferb's Christmas Vacation'?
tvcrazed 11-02-2010, 09:30 PM A great dancer just went home. Really bummed with DWTS results.
Skating with The stars cast, EW says that pros wont be revealed for at least a week. No Household names so no Johnny Weir or Evan Lysachek.
Pavan 11-03-2010, 01:31 AM Phineas and Ferb's Christmas Vacation is on ABC Family on Monday, Dec. 20 at 7. I didn't think ABC was airing it? As of now, it's not scheduled.
Skating with the Stars announcement:
ABC ANNOUNCES ALL-STAR CAST OF STARS READY TO HIT THE ICE
AS “SKATING WITH THE STARS” PREMIERES,
MONDAY, NOVEMBER 22 ON ABC
An amazing cast of stars -- including a Grammy® nominated rock star, a bona fide “Housewife,” a daytime diva, an Olympic champion skier, a super-suave actor, and an actress who graced some of the past decades’ most unforgettable films – will compete each week on the spectacular ice rink in the sensational two-hour series premiere of “Skating with the Stars,” MONDAY, NOVEMBER 22 (9:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.
All six couples will take to the ice with their professional partner for the first time in front of a live audience on MONDAY, NOVEMBER 22 (9:00-11:00 p.m., ET), with couples performing high-paced ice dancing moves and dazzling figure skating routines. Couples will need to be perfectly in sync since the unforgiving ice will show no mercy for the slightest mistake. The couple with the lowest ranking following the judges’ scores and votes from the public for their performance will be sent home the following week.
The six celebrities hitting the stunning ice rink this season, as announced tonight by “Dancing with the Stars” hosts Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke during the live “Dancing with the Stars Results,” show are:
REBECCA BUDIG – Daytime Emmy Award nominee and fan favorite Rebecca Budig returned to the role of Greenlee Smythe in December 2009 on “All My Children.” Ms. Budig has also made many guest appearances and served as co-host for ABC’s “The View.” Budig’s credits include host for WE’s “Full Frontal Fashion,” host for ABC Family’s “The Bachelor” after show round ups, and ABC’s “Hope & Faith.” Most recently she starred in “The Perfect Child,” “The Beast,” “Out of Practice” and “CSI.”
BETHENNY FRANKEL – Bethenny Frankel has a knack for making healthy food taste delicious, a talent that has elevated her to national prominence as a celebrated natural food chef, the creator of the sought-after Skinnygirl Margarita, The New York Times best-selling author of “Naturally Thin” and “The Skinnygirl Dish,” and a spokesperson for Pepperidge Farm. Frankel attended the National Gourmet Institute for Health and Culinary Arts. Her wit, wisdom and humor first came to national attention when she was named first runner-up on NBC’s “The Apprentice: Martha Stewart.” Network executives next put her center stage on Bravo’s hit series “The Real Housewives of New York” for three seasons. Her next series, the spin-off “Bethenny Getting Married?” premiered with the highest ratings ever in Bravo history. She currently resides in New York City with her husband, daughter and dog Cookie.
JONNY MOSELEY– Jonny Moseley has amassed an impressive list of titles and medals as a skier, but it is his ability to bring a crowd to its feet that defines his career. In his quest to deliver the ultimate performance, Jonny has combined the discipline required of an Olympic athlete, the ability to thrill required of a X-Games athlete and the creativity and imagination required of a free-skier. Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico in 1975, Jonny hit snow for the first time when his family relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1978. In 1993 he was selected to the US Ski Team and after narrowly missing a spot on the 1994 Olympic team, Jonny began preparing himself for the 1998 Olympic Games. In 1997 Jonny put school on hold and became a full time skier. He won the first two World Cup events of the 1997/1998 season, and secured a spot on the US Olympic team. Jonny arrived in Nagano, Japan in February of 1998 and one week later won the first American gold medal of the Games with what had become his signature move, the 360 mute-grab. In 2006, Jonny achieved another of his goals and graduated from UC Berkeley. In 2007, he was inducted into the US National Ski Hall of Fame and became the narrator of the Warren Miller films. He continues to do his weekly radio show on Sirius Satellite Radio and various TV work and he is proud to represent Sprint and act as Chief Mountain Host at Squaw Valley, USA.
VINCE NEIL – International superstar, accomplished businessman and heartfelt philanthropist, Vince Neil exemplifies all things rock and roll. Vince’s unmistakable voice leads some of the greatest rock songs of this generation, including “Shout At The Devil,” “Home Sweet Home,” “Girls, Girls, Girls,” “Dr. Feelgood,” “Kickstart My Heart,” “Same Ol Situation,” and the recent “Saints of Los Angeles,” which was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2009 for Best Hard Rock Performance. With 15 years between his last solo album, Vince Neil released his solo cd Tattoos & Tequila, followed by his New York Times bestselling book of the same name. Neil continues to expand his latest entrepreneurial efforts, which include Feelgoods Rock Bar and Grill in West Palm Beach and Las Vegas; Vince Neil Ink, a Las Vegas based tattoo parlor and apparel shop with two locations; Tres Rios tequila; The Skylar Neil Memorial Foundation (www.skylarneil.org), a tribute to Vince’s daughter, whom he lost to cancer in 1995 which has raised over $2 million to help combat childhood cancer, and his latest venture, Vince Neil Aviation. In addition to selling 80 million records around the world as the frontman for Mötley Crüe, he began a career as a solo artist in 1993. With one loafer in the world of business and a steel toe boot heavily planted in rock n’ roll, Vince Neil is the epitome of a modern rock star living the luxury lifestyle continuing to create current music, writing, finding new businesses that interest him, and giving back through his foundation.
BRANDON MYCHAL SMITH – Brandon Mychal Smith plays super-suave Nico Harris in the Disney Channel sitcom “Sonny With A Chance.” He also recently starred as Stubby in the Disney Channel Original Movie "StarStruck." In 2006, Smith won a Family Television Award and a Young Artist Award for his portrayal as Tayshawn in the Emmy Award-nominated television movie "The Ron Clark Story" opposite Matthew Perry. His other film credits include "Gridiron Gang" opposite Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and "Weapons" with Nick Cannon. Smith landed a role in the 2002 season finale of "The District," and has since guest-starred on several popular television shows including ABC's "The Forgotten," Disney Channel's "That's So Raven" and "Phil of the Future," "The Shield," "Bones" and "Without a Trace." Born May 29, 1989, Smith is an avid roller skater. He makes his home in Los Angeles and is very close with his parents and younger sister Kimberly.
SEAN YOUNG – Sean Young has starred in some of the most iconic movies of all time, from “Blade Runner” with Harrison Ford to “No Way Out” with Kevin Costner, to “Ace Ventura” with Jim Carrey. She has brought her passion for acting and creating characters to the small screen as well, where she is currently starring as the devious Meggie McLaine in “The Young and The Restless”. While no stranger to splashy headlines and a perennial mainstay of the gossip mills over the years, Young takes it all in stride. Sean has also recently starred in a number of independent movies, “The Republic”, “Random Encounters” and most recently “The Black Dove” which she just finished shooting in Cincinnati. A trained dancer in her youth studying at the American Ballet in New York, she hopes to bring the love she has for dancing and incorporate it into her new adventure, “Skating with the Stars”.
“Skating with the Stars” is produced by BBC Worldwide Productions. Izzie Pick (“Dancing with the Stars,” and the UK’s “Strictly Come Dancing”) and Phil Edgar Jones (“Big Brother,” and “Celebrity Big Brother”) serve as executive producers. Paul Osborne (“I’m a Celebrity…Get me Out of Here!,” and “Secret Millionaire”) will serve as co-executive producer. Alex Rudzinski (“Dancing with the Stars”) will direct.
Zedman2 11-03-2010, 06:32 AM Phineas and Ferb's Christmas Vacation is on ABC Family on Monday, Dec. 20 at 7. I didn't think ABC was airing it? As of now, it's not scheduled.
A Disney Channel press release noted it would be airing on ABC, date TBD, in addition to ABC Family. I've noted ABC Family has already scheduled it, so I was wondering if you had heard anything from ABC.
I've copied an excerpt of the press release here:

“PHINEAS AND FERB”
In the special extended edition of “Phineas and Ferb Christmas Vacation,” Phineas and Ferb want to show Santa how grateful they are for the work that he does every year at Christmas time by transforming the city of Danville into a giant shimmering thank you card and building a rest stop for Santa to relax in between delivering presents. However, when Dr. Doofenshmirtz develops a Naughty-inator that coats the entire Tri-state area in a cloud of naughtiness, Christmas is threatened to be cancelled, so it’s up to Phineas and Ferb to convince Santa’s elves that they really have been nice and save Christmas. The extended edition featuring the new song “What Does He Want?,” performed by Candace, premieres FRIDAY, DECEMBER 3 (8:30-9:10 p.m. ET/PT) on Disney Channel. Disney XD will air the special extended edition of “Phineas and Ferb Christmas Vacation” on SATURDAY, DECEMBER 4 (8:00-8:45 p.m. ET/PT). Dates for its telecast on ABC Family and ABC-TV will be announced shortly
Pavan 11-03-2010, 11:06 AM Interesting. The only dates really available are in week of December 20 -- possibly Tuesday, Dec. 21 at 9, Thursday, Dec. 23 at 8 or Christmas Eve (or Thurs. Dec 16 at 9, but I am hoping for the original Santa Clause movie here, if they can air that now since ABC Family has it now). Maybe ABC will pair it with the new Mickey's Christmas Special that is premiering on ABC Family?

Coming in 2011:
ABC ANNOUNCES “EXPEDITION IMPOSSIBLE”
New Global Competition Series from Executive Producer Mark Burnett
Casting Underway for Contestants to Compete in the Greatest Adventure of Their Lives
ABC has announced “Expedition Impossible,” the next evolution in high adventure and human drama. The series will feature teams of ordinary people doing the extraordinary as they compete in the biggest adventure of their lives.
In “Expedition Impossible,” teams of three will solve problems while racing across deserts, over mountains and through rivers. Each week a new stage of the expedition will be revealed. Will teams crumble under the pressure of having to think clearly in the wilds of the great outdoors, or will they work together to get through and complete their adventures? After ten stunning legs of competition, one team will cross the finish line first to claim victory.
“We think the ABC audience will respond to this incredibly fun show, which is equal parts extreme competition, teamwork and strategy, featuring unique landscapes and different cultures,” said John Saade and Vicki Dummer, senior vice presidents, Alternative Series, Specials and Late Night, ABC Entertainment Group. “We look forward to collaborating again with Mark Burnett and his team to create an epic series.”
“I love high adventure television, and I am so excited to be working with ABC in bringing an epic ‘Indiana Jones’-style experience to the viewers,” said executive producer Mark Burnett.

Mark Burnett and Lisa Hennessy serve as executive producers. Both the television show and format will be distributed internationally by Mark Burnett International Distribution.
Pavan 11-05-2010, 10:08 AM Last year's Thanksgiving episode ("Fizbo") of Modern Family is airing on Thanksgiving night on ABC at 9pm, so now we know the episode. This is the episode Eric Stonestreet won the Emmy for.
tvcrazed 11-05-2010, 10:17 AM I had a feeling. Honestly Thanks Eve is such low viewing. Id rather they saved it for either another scheduled Wed rerun OR Wed 11/24. I know they "have" to air originals there, but its a shame this "classic" ep is being wasted on low rated Thanksgiving when I bet there are some new fans that have never seen it and would do better than a regular rerun. Id rather they rerun a The MIddle Thanksgiving here and conserve the MF. Its not even Sweeps anymore. They just reference Thanksgiving. Its really all about Lukes party. Oh well.

Phineas & Ferb Christmas Vacation might be for a Saturday afternoon, at around noon or 1, that's where it aired last year.
Pavan 11-05-2010, 02:58 PM Dec. 6 TBD from 9:30-11 is filled:
Monday, December 6, 2010
9:30pm Modern Family (R, tbd)
10:00pm Castle (all-new, fall finale)
Zedman2 11-05-2010, 07:18 PM Phineas & Ferb Christmas Vacation might be for a Saturday afternoon, at around noon or 1, that's where it aired last year.
It's never aired on ABC before. Last year was the premiere on Disney Channel and Disney XD.
tvcrazed 11-05-2010, 08:17 PM Barbara Walters has a new special In Jan about her heart surgery. If ABC comedies are new Jan 5th, I wouldnt be surprised to see that at 10p that night or a rerun of GREYS fall finale.
Pavan 11-06-2010, 12:53 AM Couple of December repeats/original news:
Castle: preempted Nov. 29, all-new Dec 6, repeats Dec. 13/20
No Ordinary Family/Detroit: all-new Nov. 30, Dec. 7, repeats Dec. 14/21/28
ABC comedies: repeats on Dec. 1, all-new on Dec. 8, repeats Dec. 15/22/29
Grey's/Private: all-new Dec. 2, preempted Dec. 9, repeats Dec. 16/23
ABC Friday: all-new Dec. 3, 10, 17
Desperate/Brothers & Sisters: repeats Nov. 28, all-new Dec. 5/12 (AFV is new on Dec. 5 but a repeat on Dec. 12; Home Edition is new on Dec. 5 but TBD on Dec. 12)
The Whole Truth is slated to be all-new Dec. 1, 8 and 15. Not sure about Dec. 22.
tvcrazed 11-06-2010, 12:59 AM why do you think only 8 new AFV in Fall?
Are they doing fewer EM this year?
Pavan 11-06-2010, 01:01 AM No clue. Don't know yet if EM: HE is new or repeat on Dec. 12. I would think all-new.
tvcrazed 11-06-2010, 01:32 AM Whatever they do, they should not waste new eps of DH or B&S on Sunday Jan 2nd. I think its a waste on Thanks eve too, but Jan 2nd is not sweeps
tvcrazed 11-07-2010, 03:01 PM Thinking about ABC sun and Thurs:
Sun: Assuming ABC will run 5 eps of the dramas in Jan/Feb, March 6th should see the premiere of Sec Millionaire and for 4 weeks (all of March) new eps of the dramas. It was reported that ABC was asking for more SM eps but I dont know if thats for next season. Assuming they only have the 6 for this year, April 10th should be the finale. 4 weeks in April ABC will need to give the dramas off. For Apr 3rd and 10th, they could have 2 hours EM:HE from 9-11p. The last 2 weeks (after SM run ends) it could be from 8-10 OR Easter Sunday maybe The Ten oOmmandments b/c I honestly wonder how much they get for EM:HE these days with those depressed numbers. Either way, the dramas would come back for 4 weeks of May Sweeps. B&S would have 3 eps left (22 ep order). Assuming DH has a 24 ep order they have a 2 hour finale on May 22nd.
Thu: I am assuming that there are 3 new weeks of the dramas in Jan with the last week reruns and after 4 weeks of sweeps that takes them to 17 eps. The first 2 weeks of March I expect reruns. March 17th I am assuming March Madness begins. That's the nigth I think ABC will premiere EM:Weight Loss Edition, followed by new eps of the dramas. Same for March 24th. Assuming ABC has a 2 hour finale for GREYS, there are no more new GREYS til sweeps (4 weeks). I read that the producers of EM:WLE have so much footage they asked ABC for 2 hoiur eps. So the next 4 weeks (the rest of their run) There can be 2 hour eps from 8-10p. Assuming PP has a 24 ep order, for the first 2 weeks a new PP will follow at 10p and then the last 2 weeks some sort of GREYS rerun at 10 (or special). April 28th Dramas retuns and 8p is a ?
