NBC PICKS UP 'UNDERCOVERS,' FROM J.J. ABRAMS AND JOSH REIMS, AS FIRST NEW SCRIPTED SERIES FOR 2010-11 SEASON
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - May 3, 2010 - NBC has issued its first scripted series pickup for the 2010-11 season with the order of the drama "Undercovers" from acclaimed writer/producer/director J.J. Abrams ("Star Trek," "Fringe," "Lost," "Alias") and executive producer/writer Josh Reims ("Brothers and Sisters"), it was announced today by Angela Bromstad, President, Primetime Entertainment, NBC and Universal Media Studios.
"We have tremendous confidence in this promising series and feel this is a great way to kick off our upcoming Upfront development announcements," said Jeff Gaspin, Chairman, NBC Universal Television Entertainment. "J.J. has delivered another signature series, along with our partners at Warner Bros., and we couldn't be happier."
"Having J.J. on our creative team is a great reason for celebration," said Bromstad. "In 'Undercovers,' J.J. and Josh have found a breakout couple that is rich in character and brimming with romance and action. We feel he's found the perfect cast."
Abrams serves as co-writer, executive producer - and also directs - his first direction of a TV series pilot since "Lost." "Undercovers" is a sexy, fun, action-packed spy drama that proves once and for all that marriage is still the world's most dangerous partnership. Outwardly, Steven Bloom (Boris Kodjoe, "Tyler Perry's Madea's Family Reunion," "Soul Food," "Resident Evil: Afterlife") and his wife, Samantha (Gugu Mbatha-Raw, "Doctor Who," "Bonekickers"), are a typical married couple who own a small catering company in Los Angeles and are helped by Samantha's easily frazzled younger sister, Lizzy (Jessica Parker Kennedy, "Smallville").
Secretly, the duo were two of the CIA's best spies until they fell in love on the job five years ago and retired. When fellow spy and friend Nash (Carter MacIntyre, "American Heiress") goes missing while on the trail of a Russian arms dealer, the Blooms are reinstated by boss Carlton Shaw (Gerald McRaney, "Deadwood") to locate and rescue Nash. The pair is thrust back into the world of espionage as they follow leads that span the globe -- and Steven and Samantha realize that this supercharged, undercover lifestyle provides the excitement and romance that their marriage has been missing. Also starring is Ben Schwartz (NBC's "Parks and Recreation").
"Undercovers" is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Bad Robot Productions and Warner Bros. Television. The pilot was written by J.J. Abrams & Josh Reims and directed by Abrams. Abrams, Reims and Bryan Burk ("Fringe," "Lost, "Alias") are the executive producers.

NBC PICKS UP THREE NEW SERIES FOR 2010-11 SEASON WITH 'THE EVENT,' 'OUTSOURCED' AND 'LOVE BITES'
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - May 7, 2010 - NBC has given series pickups for its 2010-11 season to the dramatic thriller "The Event," the comedy "Outsourced" and the romantic anthology series "Love Bites."
The announcement was made today by Angela Bromstad, President, Primetime Entertainment, NBC and Universal Media Studios.
"Each of these three series reflects a unique point of view and distinct style of quality that fits perfectly with NBC's dedication to rebuilding the schedule," said Bromstad. "These series showcase excellent writing and casting, and represent the kind of scripted programming our network and studio are committed to producing."
"The Event" is an emotional high-octane conspiracy thriller that follows Sean Walker (Jason Ritter, "The Class"), an Everyman who investigates the mysterious disappearance of his fiancee, Leila (Sarah Roemer, "Disturbia"), and unwittingly begins to expose the biggest cover-up in U.S. history. Sean's quest will send ripples through the lives of an eclectic band of strangers, including: newly elected U.S. President Martinez (Blair Underwood, "Dirty Sexy Money"); Sophia (Emmy Award nominee Laura Innes, "ER"), who is the leader of a mysterious group of detainees; and Sean's shadowy father-in-law (Scott Patterson, "Gilmore Girls"). Their futures are on a collision course in a global conspiracy that could ultimately change the fate of mankind.
Ian Anthony Dale ("Daybreak") and Emmy winner Zeljko Ivanek ("Damages") also star in the ensemble drama.
"The Event" is a production of Universal Media Studios and Steve Stark Productions. Stark ("Medium," "Facing Kate") serves as executive producer, Nick Wauters ("The 4400," "Eureka") is creator/co-executive producer and Jeffrey Reiner ("Friday Night Lights," "Trauma") is the director/executive producer.
"Outsourced" is a comedy where the Midwest meets the exotic East in a hilarious culture clash. The series centers on the all-American company Mid America Novelties that sells whoopee cushions, foam fingers and wallets made of bacon -- and whose call center has suddenly been outsourced to India. Todd Dempsy (Ben Rappaport, off-Broadway's "The Gingerbread House") is the new company's manager who learns that he's being transferred to India to run the operation.
Overwhelmed, Todd discovers that his new staff needs a crash course in all things American if they are to understand the U.S. product line and ramp up sales from halfway around the world. But as strange as America seems to his eclectic sales team, Todd soon realizes that figuring out India will be more than a full-time job. Rizwan Manji ("Privileged"), Sacha Dhawan (BBC's "Five Days II"), Rebecca Hazlewood (BBC's "Doctors"), Parvesh Cheena ("Help Me Help You"), and Anisha Nagarajan (Broadway's "Bombay Dreams") also star as members of Dempsy's off-shore team; Diedrich Bader ("The Drew Carey Show") and Jessica Gower (Network Ten's "The Secret Life of Us") additionally star.
"Outsourced" is produced by Universal Media Studios. Robert Borden ("The Drew Carey Show" and "George Lopez") is executive producer/writer. Ken Kwapis ("The Office") developed the project through his company, In Cahoots, and serves as executive producer/director. Alex Beattie serves as co-executive producer.
From Emmy Award-winning writer-producer Cindy Chupack ("Sex and the City"), "Love Bites" is an hour-long romantic comedy anthology series featuring three loosely connected, modern stories of love, sex, marriage and dating. Each episode contains multiple vignettes, all illuminating the theme of love with an edgy, irreverent spin.
Becki Newton ("Ugly Betty") stars as Annie and Jordana Spiro ("My Boys") stars as Frannie, the last two single girls standing after all of their friends get married. Annie is an infectiously bubbly optimist and Frannie is an always-a-bridesmaid realist. Their story will anchor the series, while other romantically-challenged characters will come and go each week.
The pilot's guest cast includes Jennifer Love Hewitt ("Ghost Whisperer"), Greg Grunberg ("Heroes"), Craig Robinson ("The Office"), Jason Lewis ("Sex and the City"), Lindsay Price ("Lipstick Jungle"), Larry Wilmore ("The Daily Show"), Charlyne Yi ("Knocked Up"), Pamela Adlon ("Californication"), Stacy Galina ("Hidden Hills"), Brian Hallisay ("Privileged"), Kyle Howard ("My Boys") and Steve Howey ("Bride Wars").
"Love Bites" is a production of Universal Media Studios and Working Title Television, which is a new division of Working Title Films (the U.K. production company behind box office hits including "Love Actually," "Bridget Jones's Diary" and "Four Weddings and a Funeral"). Chupack is creator, executive producer and writer. Emmy Award-winning producer-director Marc Buckland ("My Name Is Earl") also is executive producer and directs the pilot. Eric Fellner, Tim Bevan and Shelley McCrory from Working Title Television are executive producers. "Love Bites" is Working Title Television's first U.S. commission.

NBC PICKS UP NEW DRAMA SERIES 'CHASE,' FROM JERRY BRUCKHEIMER, FOR 2010-11 SEASON
Drama Becomes NBC's Fifth New Scripted Series Announced for New Season
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - May 10, 2010 - NBC has picked up its fifth scripted series pilot for the 2010-11 season in "Chase," a new drama from Emmy Award-winning executive producer Jerry Bruckheimer ("CSI" franchise, "The Amazing Race," "Pirates of the Caribbean" films) and executive producer Jennifer Johnson ("Cold Case").
The announcement was made by Angela Bromstad, President, Primetime Entertainment, NBC and Universal Media Studios.
"Chase" joins previously announced "Undercovers," "The Event," "Love Bites," and "Outsourced" as the fifth new scripted series currently announced for NBC's new season with additional pickups yet to be announced.
"'Chase' has all the undeniable elements of a thrill ride that you would expect from a Jerry Bruckheimer action series," said Bromstad. "Equally important, it also features a great cast. Kelli Giddish is a breakout star as the lead."
"Chase" is a fast-paced drama that drops viewers smack into the middle of a game of cat-and-mouse as a team of U.S. marshals hunts down America's most dangerous fugitives. Kelli Giddish ("Past Life") stars as U.S. Marshal Annie Frost, a cowboy boot-wearing deputy whose sharp mind and unique Texas upbringing help her track down the violent criminals on the run.
Cole Hauser ("K-Ville"), Amaury Nolasco ("Prison Break"), Rose Rollins ("The L Word") and Jesse Metcalfe ("Desperate Housewives") also star as members of Frost's elite team.
"Chase" is produced by Bonanza Productions Inc., in association with Jerry Bruckheimer Television and Warner Bros. Television. Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman ("CSI" franchise, "The Amazing Race," "Cold Case") and Johnson serve as executive producers, while KristieAnne Reed is co-executive producer. David Nutter ("The Mentalist," "Without a Trace" "The X-Files") directed and is executive producer of the pilot which was written by Johnson.

NBC ANNOUNCES PICKUP OF NEW COMEDY SERIES 'PERFECT COUPLES' FOR 2010-11 SEASON
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - May 12, 2010 - NBC has green-lit the new romantic comedy "Perfect Couples" for its 2010-11 season, it was announced today by Angela Bromstad, President, Primetime Entertainment, NBC and Universal Media Studios.
"Perfect Couples" joins previously announced "Chase," "Undercovers," "The Event," "Love Bites," and "Outsourced" as the sixth new scripted series currently unveiled for NBC's new season with additional pickups yet to be announced.
"Jon and Scott are hugely talented writer-producers and they've really delivered with 'Perfect Couples,'" said Bromstad. "The comedy includes a cast of three distinctive couples who share the same issues and will draw viewers in with their relatable stories."
"Perfect Couples" depicts the misadventures of three engaging couples as they struggle to find out what makes the ideal relationship -- and how to maintain it through humorous trial-and-error. The series explores their heroic journey in search of the perfect relationship without destroying each other in the process.
Dave (Kyle Howard, "My Boys") and Julia (Christine Woods, "Flash Forward") are the relatable, normal couple, but Julia's hope of remaining the cool, low-maintenance chick is tested by Dave's attempts to keep both his wife and his needy best friend Vance (Dave Walton, NBC's "100 Questions") equally happy. Vance, along with the neurotic Amy (Mary Elizabeth Ellis, "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia"), are the high-passion, high-drama couple who bring out the best and worst in each other.
The third duo features Rex (Hayes MacArthur, "She's Out of My League"), a reformed party guy, and, and his wife, Leigh (Olivia Munn, "Attack of the Show"), who considers herself as the group's mother hen. Believing that they are relationship experts, Rex and Leigh have attended every class and seminar on relationships -- and regard themselves as the "perfect couple."
Jon Pollack ("30 Rock") and Scott Silveri ("Friends") are the executive producers while Andy Ackerman ("Seinfeld," "The New Adventures of Old Christine") is the director. The series is produced by Universal Media Studios.

NBC ANNOUNCES PICKUPS FOR NEW DRAMA 'LOLA' ('LAW & ORDER: LOS ANGELES') AND RETURNING 'LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT' AND 'LAW & ORDER' ENDS ITS HISTORIC RUN ON NBC MAY 24
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - May 14, 2010 - NBC has picked up the new drama "LOLA" ("Law & Order: Los Angeles") as well as renewed "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" for the 2010-11 season. In addition, NBC will end its historic and record-tying "Law & Order" when the mothership series concludes its 20th season on Monday, May 24 (10-11 p.m. ET).
The announcements were made today by Angela Bromstad, President, Primetime Entertainment, NBC and Universal Media Studios.
Jeff Gaspin, Chairman, NBC Universal Television Entertainment said, "The full measure of the collective contributions made by Dick Wolf and his 'Law & Order' franchise over the last two decades to the success of NBC and Universal Media Studios cannot be overstated. The legacy of his original 'Law & Order' series will continue to make an impact like no other series before."
Bromstad added: "'Law & Order' has been one of the most successful franchises in the history of television, which is why it is so critical that we continue this important brand and our relationship with Dick Wolf and his team with 'LOLA' and 'Law & Order: SVU.'"
The brainchild of creator and Emmy Award winner Wolf, "Law & Order" has spawned one of the most successful brands in primetime television. It is the 1997 Emmy Award winner for Outstanding Drama Series and the record holder for the most consecutive (11) nominations in that category for a primetime series (tied with "Cheers" and "M*A*S*H"). It premiered on September 13, 1990, and eventually tied "Gunsmoke" as the longest-running drama series in television history.
The new "LOLA" ("Law & Order: Los Angeles") is a procedural crime drama that will follow the theme and storylines similar to the "Law & Order"-brand series on the streets of Los Angeles. The series, from executive producer Dick Wolf and Blake Masters ("Brotherhood"), is a Wolf Films production in association with Universal Media Studios. Casting and pre-production work are continuing.
In its current 11th season, "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" has delivered a 2.9 rating, 8 share in adults 18-49 and 9.3 million viewers overall. "Law & Order: SVU" is NBC's #1 scripted series this season in total viewers. Since moving to Wednesdays (10-11 p.m. ET) on March 3, "SVU" is #1 in the time period in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and other key ratings categories and has improved on NBC's average rating in the hour during the traditional 2008-09 season by 29 percent in adults 18-49.
"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" is a hard-hitting and emotional series from NBC's "Law & Order" brand as it chronicles the Special Victims Unit of the New York Police Department, the elite squad of detectives who investigate sexually based crimes. The drama follows Detective Elliot Stabler (Emmy Award nominee Christopher Meloni), a seasoned veteran, and his partner, Detective Olivia Benson (Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner Mariska Hargitay), whose difficult past is the reason she joined the unit.
Captain Donald Cragen (Dann Florek) oversees the unit while Detective John Munch (Richard Belzer, "Homicide: Life on the Street") brings his acerbic wit and street-honed investigative skills to the team. Munch's partner, Detective Odafin "Fin" Tutuola (Ice-T), adds his unique sense of humor and investigative experience. Forensic psychiatrist, George Huang (B.D. Wong) and Medical Examiner Melinda Warner (Tamara Tunie) uncover forensic evidence.
"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" is a Wolf Films production in association with Universal Media Studios. Wolf is creator and executive producer; Neal Baer ("ER," "China Beach"), Ted Kotcheff ("Fun with Dick and Jane," "Weekend at Bernie's") and Jankowski are executive producers.
"Law & Order: Criminal Intent" continues to air in its ninth season on USA Network.

NBC ADDS TO NEW SCRIPTED LINEUP WITH FOUR NEW SERIES -- 'THE CAPE,' 'OUTLAW,' 'HARRY'S LAW' AND 'FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS' - AND RENEWS 'CHUCK' FOR FOURTH SEASON IN 2010-11
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - May 14, 2010 - NBC has issued pickups for four more new scripted series with dramas "The Cape," "Outlaw," "Harry's Law" and the comedy "Friends With Benefits" - while renewing the action-comedy series "Chuck" for a fourth season -- all for the 2010-11 season. The announcement was made today by Angela Bromstad, President, Primetime Entertainment, NBC and Universal Media Studios.
"The addition of these four inventive series to our new scripted lineup demonstrates a wide spectrum of creative stories," said Bromstad. "We are featuring popular, top-flight stars along with a strong pedigree of successful writer-producers. Likewise, 'Chuck' has proven its enduring appeal and we love the new creative direction that Josh and Chris have taken the show."
The four new series join previously announced "LOLA' ("Law & Order: Los Angeles"), "Perfect Couples," "Chase," "Undercovers," "The Event," "Love Bites" and "Outsourced" as the new scripted series that NBC has revealed for its new season.
"The Cape" is a one-hour drama series starring David Lyons ("ER") as Vince Faraday, an honest cop on a corrupt police force, who finds himself framed for a series of murders and presumed dead. He is forced into hiding, leaving behind his wife, Dana (Jennifer Ferrin, "Life on Mars") and son, Trip (Ryan Wynott, "Flash Forward"). Fueled by a desire to reunite with his family and to battle the criminal forces that have overtaken Palm City, Faraday becomes "The Cape" his son's favorite comic book superhero -- and takes the law into his own hands. Rounding out the cast are James Frain ("The Tudors") as billionaire Peter Fleming - The Cape's nemesis - who moonlights as the twisted killer: Chess; Keith David ("Death at a Funeral") as Max Malini, the ringleader of a circus gang of bank robbers who mentors Vince Faraday and trains him to be The Cape; Summer Glau ("Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles") as Orwell, an investigative blogger who wages war on crime and corruption in Palm City; and Dorian Missick ("Six Degrees") as Marty Voyt, a former police detective and friend to Faraday.
"The Cape" is a Universal Media Studios and BermanBraun production from executive producer/creator Thomas Wheeler ("Empire"), executive producer/director Simon West ("Con Air"), the executive producing team of Gail Berman and Lloyd Braun ("Mercy") and executive producer Gene Stein ("Accidentally on Purpose").
Starring Emmy Award winner Jimmy Smits ("NYPD Blue," "West Wing"), "Outlaw" is a new drama from executive producer John Eisendrath ("Alias," "Felicity," "Playmakers"). Cyrus Garza (Smits) is a Supreme Court justice who abruptly quits the high-level position. A playboy and a gambler, Garza had always adhered to a strict interpretation of the law until he realized the system he believed in was flawed. Now that he's quit the bench and returned to private practice, he's determined to represent "the little guy" and use his inside knowledge of the justice system to take on today's biggest legal cases. And he's making plenty of powerful people unhappy along the way. Jesse Bradford ("West Wing"), Carly Pope ("24"), Ellen Woglom ("Californication") and David Ramsey ("Dexter") also star.
"Outlaw" is a Universal Media Studios production along with Conaco productions. Eisendrath is executive producer along with Terry George ("Hotel Rwanda," "Reservation Road"), Conan O'Brien, Jeff Ross and David Kissinger ("Andy Barker, P.I."). "Outlaw" is written by Eisendrath and directed by George.
Emmy Award-winning creator David E. Kelley ("The Practice," "Boston Legal") brings his unique storytelling to "Harry's Law," a series about fate and the people it brings together, starring Academy Award winner Kathy Bates ("Misery," "About Schmidt").
Harriet (Bates), Matthew (Ben Chaplin, "Me and Orson Welles") and Malcolm (Aml Ameen, "Kidulthood") couldn't be any more different. Harriet is a curmudgeonly ex-patent lawyer who, having just been fired from her cushy job, is completely disillusioned with her success and looking for a fresh start. Her world unexpectedly collides with Malcolm's -- a young man trying to figure out life. When he finds out Harriet is a lawyer, he begs her to represent him in an upcoming criminal case. Matthew, a dreamer at heart and also recently fired from his job as a high school teacher, is introduced to Harriet through Malcolm, a previous student of his. When these three cross paths, they realize they're all looking for a fresh start. Now, the most unlikely of people are starting a law practice in the most unlikely of places -- a rundown shoe store. "Harry's Law" also stars Brittany Snow ("Hairspray") as Harriet's assistant, Jenna Backstrom and Beatrice Rosen ("Dark Knight") as Eve, a high school French teacher.
"Harry's Law" is produced by Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with David E. Kelley Productions and Warner Bros. Television. David E. Kelley ("Boston Legal," "The Practice") and Bill D'Elia ("Boston Legal," "The Practice") serve as executive producers. D'Elia also serves as director.
From Oscar and Emmy winner Brian Grazer ("A Beautiful Mind," "Arrested Development"), "Friends With Benefits" is a half-hour comedy revolving around a group of twenty-something singles as they navigate the difficult, and often confusing, world of dating. Ben Weymouth (Ryan Hansen, "Party Down") is on the hunt for the perfect woman who meets his unique set of standards, while his best friend, Sara Maxwell (Danneel Harris, "One Tree Hill"), is just looking for a man to settle down with and raise a family. Ben and Sara have fallen into the habit of turning to each other for moral and physical support as they wait for Mr. and Ms. Right to arrive. Their friend Aaron (Fran Kranz, "Dollhouse"), a romantic at heart, doesn't approve of Ben and Sara's complicated friendship, but he, along with womanizer Hoon (Ian Reed Kesler) and straight shooter Riley (Jessica Lucas, "Cloverfield"), are all distracted with their own dating trials and tribulations.
David Nevins ("Lie to Me," "Arrested Development") joins Grazer as executive producer for Imagine Television. Also serving as executive producers are David Dobkin ("Wedding Crashers"), who directs the pilot, writers Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber ("(500) Days of Summer"), and Jeff Kleeman. "Friends With Benefits" is a production of 20th Century Fox Television, Imagine Television and Big Kid Pictures.
Now in its third season that concludes with a two-hour season finale on Monday, May 24 (8-10 p.m. ET), "Chuck" is averaging a 2.4 rating, 6 share in adults 18-49 and 6.6 million viewers overall. "Chuck's" ratings increase significantly when all time-shifted viewing is added to its results, growing this season by an average of 22 percent in its 18-49 rating and more than 1.1 million persons in total viewers when going from its "live plus same day" to its "live plus seven day" results from Nielsen Media Research.
Zachary Levi ("Less Than Perfect") stars in the title role as a regular guy working at a Buy More electronics store who becomes the government's most vital secret agent. This season, Chuck was transformed into the Intersect 2.0 after another data download into his brain. This time around, he not only knows government secrets, but he also is well equipped with deadly fight skills. Chuck has the potential to become a real agent and gets a helping hand from one of the CIA's top agents and his dream girl Sarah Walker (Yvonne Strahovski, "Gone").
The ever stoic Colonel John Casey (Adam Baldwin, "My Bodyguard," "Firefly") returns with an unlikely new partner, Chuck's best friend, Morgan Grimes (Joshua Gomez, "Without a Trace"). Also starring are: Sarah Lancaster ("What About Brian?") as Chuck's ever-supportive sister Ellie and Ryan McPartlin ("Living with Fran") as Devon Woodcomb (also known as "Captain Awesome"), Ellie's husband. Chuck's Buy More team consists of Big Mike (Mark Christopher Lawrence, "The Pursuit of Happyness") and the Nerd Herd, which includes Lester (Vik Sahay, "Time Bomb") and Jeff (Scott Krinsky, "The O.C.").
"Chuck" is co-created by Josh Schwartz ("The O.C.," "Gossip Girl") and Chris Fedak, and is executive-produced by Schwartz, McG ("Charlie's Angels," "We Are Marshall"), Fedak, Allison Adler and Matthew Miller. "Chuck" is produced by College Hill Pictures, Wonderland Sound and Vision, in association with Warner Bros. Television.

MONDAYS
8:00 pm 'Chuck'
9:00 pm 'THE EVENT' (NEW!)
10:00 pm 'CHASE' (NEW!)
I rather like the way they've put together this night with original young-skewing programming which should do better than this seasons 2.05 A18-49 average for Monday nights. 'Chuck' should do better in the fall than this spring, especially if NBC gives us a run of the best of seasons 1-3 'Chuck' encores sometime this summer.
Monday 2010-11 NBC A18-49 Prediction: 2.5-2.7
TUESDAYS
8:00 pm 'The Biggest Loser'
10:00 pm 'Parenthood'
NBC has averaged 3.10 A18-49s in 2009-10, and should be able to maintain it. The missed opportunity for the Peacock was the chance to use the 9:30-10 pm "hammock" to launch one of their new comedies, either 'Friends With Benefits' or perhaps 'Next'.
Tuesday 2010-11 NBC A18-49 Prediction: 3.0
WEDNESDAYS
8:00 pm 'UNDERCOVERS' (NEW!)
9:00 pm 'Law & Order: Special Victims Unit'
10:00 pm 'LAW & ORDER: LOS ANGELES' (NEW!)
I have misgivings about what NBC has put together for Wednesdays. In the 2009-10 season, NBC has averaged 2.16 A18-49s and I don't see it doing any better. While the Bad Robot production 'Undercovers' looks good on paper, I question the decision to launch it in the low-HUT Wednesday 8-9 pm hour (kind of a mini-Saturday hour) where I think it will founder. The 9-10 pm 'L&O:SVU' averaged 2.03 in A18-49, while the 10-11 pm 'L&O:SVU' averaged 2.63 in A18-49. I would have left it at the later slot, and put 'L&O:LA' to Fridays. On Wednesdays, I can't see 'L&O:LA' doing much above a 2.0 A18-49, probably coming third in the hour.
Wednesday 2010-11 NBC A18-49 Prediction: 1.9
THURSDAYS
8:00 pm 'Community'
8:30 pm '30 Rock'
9:00 pm 'The Office'
9:30 pm 'OUTSOURCED' (NEW!)
10:00 pm 'LOVE BITES' (NEW!)
This night will probably fall off a bit from 2009-10's 2.56 A18-49 average, largely because 'The Office' and '30 Rock' are showing their age. I like the positioning of the dramedy anthology 'Love Bites' at 10 pm, and hope that it does better than the similarly-themed 'Cupid' did at 10 pm for ABC on Tuesdays last year.
Thursday 2010-11 NBC A18-49 Prediction: 2.3
FRIDAYS
8:00 pm 'Who Do You Think You Are?' / 'SCHOOL PRIDE' (NEW!)
9:00 pm 'Dateline NBC'
10:00 pm 'OUTLAW' (NEW!)
While NBC's first place 2009-10's 1.93 A18-49 average was skewed a bit by three nights of 'Winter Olympics' coverage, the Peacock seems to have found a profitable mix of programming for the night. 'Who Do You Think You Are?' and 'Dateline' should perform at similar levels to this season, and Mr. Conan O'Brien's 'Outlaw' at 10 pm is an interesting counterprogramming choice to ABC's '20/20' that could get 'Vegas'-like numbers for NBC. But sadly, winning Fridays these days is as meaningless as triumphing on Saturdays.
Friday 2010-11 NBC A18-49 Prediction: 1.8
SATURDAY
8:00 pm 'Parenthood' Encores (carryover)
9:00 pm 'LAW & ORDER: LOS ANGELES' / 'CHASE' / 'UNDERCOVERS' Encores alternating (likely)
10:00 pm 'Law & Order: Special Victims Unit' (carryover)
11:30 pm 'Saturday Night Live'
NBC's 1.73 A18-49 average was skewed by three nights of 'Winter Olympics' and an NFL playoff game, so it will fall-off quite a bit this season. NBC has become CBS on this night given their demonstrated love of encore programming. Perhaps these encores are part of the withering of the 'Law & Order' franchise? Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Saturday 2010-11 NBC A18-49 Prediction: 1.1
SUNDAY
7- 8:15 pm 'Football Night in America' (first half-hour sustaining)
8:15-11:30 pm 'NBC Sunday Night Football'
SUNDAY (midseason, March 2011)
7:00 pm 'Dateline NBC'
8:00 pm 'Minute to Win It'
9:00 pm 'The Celebrity Apprentice' (2 hours)
Nothings changing on this nights, so NBC should be able to maintain its 2009-10 3.97 A18-49 average, deducting a bit for the lack of three nights of 'Winter Olympics'.
Sunday 2010-11 NBC A18-49 Prediction: 3.5
Mr. Television 05-16-2010, 03:31 PM NBC actually looks like they have some good new shows for a change. Sadly I think most of them will fail. I also don't understand why we need another L&O. The franchise is dying. SVU will probably be ending after next year as well.

NEW YORK CITY -- May 16, 2010 - NBC announced today its 2010-11 primetime schedule that is highlighted by five new comedies, seven new drama series and one new alternative program, including shows from such innovative hit-makers as J.J. Abrams, Jerry Bruckheimer and David E. Kelley, among others.
The high-quality series include new comedies such as "Outsourced," "Love Bites," "Perfect Couples," "Friends With Benefits" and "The Paul Reiser Show." The new dramas are "The Cape," "Harry's Law," "Outlaw," "Undercovers," "The Event," "Chase" and "Law & Order: Los Angeles."
The schedule features all-drama lineups on Mondays and Wednesdays and five comedies on Thursdays. Tuesdays will continue to combine the similar appeal of "The Biggest Loser" with "Parenthood," and Fridays will team "Who Do You Think You Are?" and the new series "School Pride" with "Dateline NBC" and the new legal drama "Outlaw."
NBC will also broadcast a 35th anniversary "Saturday Night Live" special that will celebrate the iconic late-night series' long and eventful run on NBC since 1975.
The announcements were made by Jeff Gaspin, Chairman, NBC Universal Television Entertainment, and Angela Bromstad, President, Primetime Entertainment, NBC and Universal Media Studios.
"This new schedule brings NBC back to basics with its commitment to quality scripted programming," said Gaspin. "Our new shows are distinctive and feature a combination of the biggest talent, the brightest new stars and the strongest auspices in television. With this new schedule, we're poised to take the next step toward our long-term goals with a lineup that has stabilized and has been building solid momentum through the second half of the season."
"Our team has been working tirelessly to achieve our ambitious goals and we are so pleased to see that these new series demonstrate tremendous upside for NBC," said Bromstad. "We feel that this development season introduces shows that will become part of the great programming legacy of our network."

"Dateline NBC" continues at 9-10 p.m. with its compelling personal stories. The workweek ends with "Outlaw," a new courtroom drama featuring Emmy winner Jimmy Smits as a former U.S. Supreme Court justice.

New Dramas
‘THE EVENT’ -- "The Event" is an emotional, high-octane conspiracy thriller that follows Sean Walker (Jason Ritter, "The Class"), an Everyman who investigates the mysterious disappearance of his fiancée, Leila (Sarah Roemer, "Disturbia"), and unwittingly begins to expose the biggest cover-up in U.S. history. Sean's quest will send ripples through the lives of an eclectic band of strangers, including: newly elected U.S. President Martinez (Golden Globe nominee Blair Underwood, "Dirty Sexy Money"); Sophia (Emmy Award nominee Laura Innes, "ER"), who is the leader of a mysterious group of detainees; and Sean’s shadowy father-in-law (Scott Patterson, "Gilmore Girls"). Their futures are on a collision course in a global conspiracy that could ultimately change the fate of mankind. Ian Anthony Dale ("Daybreak") and Emmy winner Željko Ivanek (“Damages”) also star in the ensemble drama. “The Event” is a production of Universal Media Studios and Steve Stark Productions. Stark (“Medium,” “Facing Kate”) serves as executive producer, Nick Wauters ("The 4400," "Eureka") is creator/co-executive producer and Jeffrey Reiner (“Friday Night Lights,” “Trauma”) is the director/executive producer; Evan Katz (“24”) also is an executive producer. http://www.nbc.com/the-event/
‘UNDERCOVERS’ – Acclaimed writer/producer/director J.J. Abrams (“Star Trek," "Fringe," "Lost," "Alias") serves as co-writer, executive producer – and also directs – his first direction of a TV series pilot since “Lost” in “Undercovers” with executive producer/writer Josh Reims (“Brothers and Sisters”). “Undercovers” is a sexy, fun, action-packed spy drama that proves once and for all that marriage is still the world's most dangerous partnership. Outwardly, Steven Bloom (Boris Kodjoe, “Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Family Reunion,” “Soul Food,” "Resident Evil: Afterlife") and his wife, Samantha (Gugu Mbatha-Raw, “Doctor Who,” “Bonekickers”), are a typical married couple who own a small catering company in Los Angeles and are helped by Samantha’s easily frazzled younger sister, Lizzy (Jessica Parker Kennedy, “Smallville”). Secretly, the duo were two of the CIA’s best spies until they fell in love on the job five years ago and retired. Also starring is Ben Schwartz (NBC’s “Parks and Recreation”). "Undercovers" is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Bad Robot Productions and Warner Bros. Television. The pilot was written by J.J. Abrams & Josh Reims and directed by Abrams. Abrams, Reims and Bryan Burk ("Fringe," "Lost, "Alias") are the executive producers. http://www.nbc.com/undercovers/
‘THE CAPE’ – "The Cape" is a one-hour drama series starring David Lyons ("ER") as Vince Faraday, an honest cop on a corrupt police force, who finds himself framed for a series of murders and presumed dead. Rounding out the cast are James Frain ("The Tudors") as billionaire Peter Fleming -- The Cape's nemesis -- who moonlights as the twisted killer: Chess; Keith David ("Death at a Funeral") as Max Malini, the ringleader of a circus gang of bank robbers who mentors Vince Faraday and trains him to be The Cape, Summer Glau ("Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles") as Orwell, an investigative blogger who wages war on crime and corruption in Palm City; and Dorian Missick ("Six Degrees") as Marty Voyt, a former police detective and friend to Faraday. "The Cape" is a Universal Media Studios and BermanBraun production from executive producer/creator Thomas Wheeler (“Empire”), executive producer/director Simon West (“Con Air”), the executive producing team of Gail Berman and Lloyd Braun (NBC’s “Mercy), and executive producer Gene Stein (“Accidentally on Purpose”). http://www.nbc.com/the-cape/
‘CHASE’ – “Chase” is a fast-paced drama from Emmy Award-winning executive producer Jerry Bruckheimer (“CSI” franchise, “The Amazing Race,” “Pirates of the Caribbean” films) and executive producer Jennifer Johnson (“Cold Case”) that drops viewers smack into the middle of a game of cat-and-mouse as a team of U.S. marshals hunts down America's most dangerous fugitives. Kelli Giddish (“Past Life”) stars as U.S. Marshal Annie Frost, a cowboy boot-wearing deputy whose sharp mind and unique Texas upbringing help her track down the violent criminals on the run. Cole Hauser (“K-Ville”), Amaury Nolasco (“Prison Break”), Rose Rollins ("The L Word”) and Jesse Metcalfe (“Desperate Housewives”) also star as members of Frost’s elite team. “Chase” is produced by Bonanza Productions Inc., in association with Jerry Bruckheimer Television and Warner Bros. Television. Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman (“CSI” franchise, “The Amazing Race,” "Cold Case”) and Johnson serve as executive producers, while KristieAnne Reed is co-executive producer. David Nutter (“The Mentalist,” “Without a Trace” “The X-Files”) directed and is executive producer of the pilot that was written by Johnson. http://www.nbc.com/chase/
‘OUTLAW’ -- Starring Emmy Award winner Jimmy Smits ("NYPD Blue," "The West Wing"), "Outlaw" is a new drama from executive producer John Eisendrath ("Alias," "Felicity," "Playmakers"). Cyrus Garza (Smits) is a U.S. Supreme Court justice who abruptly quits the high-level position. A playboy and a gambler, Garza had always adhered to a strict interpretation of the law until he realized the system he believed in was flawed. Now that he’s quit the bench and returned to private practice, he’s determined to represent “the little guy” and use his inside knowledge of the justice system to take on today’s biggest legal cases -- and he's making plenty of powerful people unhappy along the way. Jesse Bradford ("The West Wing"), Carly Pope ("24"), Ellen Woglom ("Californication") and David Ramsey ("Dexter") also star. “Outlaw” is a Universal Media Studios production along with Conaco productions. Eisendrath is executive producer along with Terry George ("Hotel Rwanda," "Reservation Road"), Conan O'Brien, Jeff Ross and David Kissinger ("Andy Barker, P.I."). "Outlaw" is written by Eisendrath and directed by George. http://www.nbc.com/outlaw/
‘HARRY’S LAW’ – Emmy Award-winning creator David E. Kelley (“The Practice,” “Boston Legal”) brings his unique storytelling to “Harry’s Law,” a series about fate and the people it brings together, starring Academy Award winner Kathy Bates (“Misery,” “About Schmidt”). Harriet (Bates), Matthew (Ben Chaplin, “Me and Orson Wells”) and Malcolm (Aml Ameen, “Kidulthood”) couldn’t be any more different. Harriet is a curmudgeonly ex-patent lawyer who, having just been fired from her cushy job, is completely disillusioned with her success and looking for a fresh start. Her world unexpectedly collides with Malcolm’s -- a young man trying to figure out life. When he finds out Harriet is a lawyer, he begs her to represent him in an upcoming criminal case. Matthew, a dreamer at heart and also recently fired from his job as a high school teacher, is introduced to Harriet through Malcolm, a previous student of his. When these three cross paths, they realize they’re all looking for a fresh start. Now, the most unlikely of people are starting a law practice in the most unlikely of places--a rundown shoe store. “Harry’s Law” also stars Brittany Snow (“Hairspray”) as Harriet’s assistant, Jenna Backstrom and Beatrice Rosen (“Dark Knight”) as Eve, a high school French teacher. “Harry’s Law” is produced by Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with David E. Kelley Productions and Warner Bros. Television. David E. Kelley (“Boston Legal,” “The Practice”) and Bill D’Elia (“Boston Legal,” “The Practice”) serve as executive producers. D’Elia also is the director. http://www.nbc.com/harrys-law/
‘LAW & ORDER: LOS ANGELES’ – The new “Law & Order: Los Angeles” is a procedural crime drama that will follow the theme and storylines similar to the “Law & Order”-brand series on the streets of Los Angeles. The series, from executive producer Dick Wolf and Blake Masters “(“Brotherhood”), is a Wolf Films production in association with Universal Media Studios. Casting and pre-production work are continuing. http://www.nbc.com/law-and-order-los-angeles
New Comedy Series
‘PERFECT COUPLES’ -- “Perfect Couples” depicts the misadventures of three engaging couples as they struggle to find out what makes the ideal relationship -- and how to maintain it through humorous trial-and-error. The series explores their heroic journey in search of the perfect relationship without destroying each other in the process. Dave (Kyle Howard, “My Boys”) and Julia (Christine Woods, “Flash Forward”) are the relatable, normal couple, but Julia's hope of remaining the cool, low-maintenance chick is tested by Dave’s attempts to keep both his wife and his needy best friend Vance (David Walton, “Heist”) equally happy. Vance, along with the neurotic Amy (Mary Elizabeth Ellis, “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”), are the high-passion, high-drama couple who bring out the best and worst in each other. The third duo features Rex (Hayes MacArthur, “She’s Out of My League”), a reformed party guy, and, and his wife, Leigh (Olivia Munn, “Attack of the Show”), who considers herself as the group’s mother hen. Believing that they are relationship experts, Rex and Leigh have attended every class and seminar on relationships -- and regard themselves as the “perfect couple.” Jon Pollack (“30 Rock”) and Scott Silveri (“Friends”) are the executive producers while Andy Ackerman (“Seinfeld,” “The New Adventures of Old Christine”) is the director. The series is produced by Universal Media Studios. http://www.nbc.com/perfect-couples/
‘OUTSOURCED’ – “Outsourced” is a comedy where the Midwest meets the exotic East in a hilarious culture clash. The series centers on the all-American company Mid America Novelties that sells whoopee cushions, foam fingers and wallets made of bacon -- and whose call center has suddenly been outsourced to India. Todd Dempsy (Ben Rappaport, off-Broadway's “The Gingerbread House”) is the new company’s manager who learns that he’s being transferred to India to run the operation. Rizwan Manji (“Privileged”), Sacha Dhawan (BBC’s “Five Days II”), Rebecca Hazlewood (BBC’s “Doctors”), Parvesh Cheena (“Help Me Help You”), and Anisha Nagarajan (Broadway’s “Bombay Dreams”) also star as members of Dempsy’s off-shore team; Diedrich Bader (“The Drew Carey Show”) and Jessica Gower (Network Ten’s “The Secret Life of Us”) additionally star. “Outsourced” is produced by Universal Media Studios. Robert Borden (“The Drew Carey Show” and “George Lopez”) is executive producer/writer. Ken Kwapis (“The Office”) developed the project through his company, In Cahoots, and serves as executive producer/director. Alex Beattie serves as co-executive producer. http://www.nbc.com/outsourced/
‘THE PAUL REISER SHOW’ -- “The Paul Reiser Show” is a new single camera comedy from Emmy and Golden Globe nominated comedian-author-producer-actor Paul Reiser (“Mad About You”) and writer-producer Jonathan Shapiro (“Life”). The show stars Paul Reiser as…Paul Reiser. It's been a few years since Paul's hit TV series went off the air. Since then, he's been enjoying the quiet life at home with his lovely wife and kids and generally minding his own business. Lately, however, Paul has been thinking that it's time he did something new, something meaningful. As to what that next thing might be, he has no idea. In his quest to figure it out, Paul is helped and hindered by his new "friends." Like most men his age, Paul didn't choose these friends. They're the husbands of his wife's friends, the dads of kids that his boys go to school with. Thrown together by circumstance, Paul and his friends form an unlikely comradeship -- and a horrible basketball team. In addition to Reiser, Ben Shenkman (“Angels in America”) stars as Jonathan, Omid Djalili (“The Infidel”) as Habib, Duane Martin (“All of Us”) as Fernando, Andrew Daly (“MADtv”) as Brad, Amy Landecker (“A Serious Man”) as Claire, Brock Waidmann as Zeke and Koby Rouviere (“Greenberg”) as Gabe. The pilot is executive produced and written by Reiser and Shapiro, produced by Craig Knizek (“Mad About You”), Merri Howard (“Cold Case”) and Peter Safran (“Heist”), and directed by Bryan Gordon (“Curb Your Enthusiasm”). “The Paul Reiser Show” is a production of Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Nuance Productions and Warner Bros. Television. http://www.nbc.com/the-paul-resier-show/
‘FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS’ -- From Oscar and Emmy winner Brian Grazer (“A Beautiful Mind,” “Arrested Development”), “Friends With Benefits” is a half-hour comedy revolving around a group of twenty-something singles as they navigate the difficult, and often confusing, world of dating. Ben Weymouth (Ryan Hansen, “Party Down”) is on the hunt for the perfect woman who meets his unique set of standards, while his best friend, Sara Maxwell (Danneel Harris, “One Tree Hill”), is just looking for a man to settle down with and raise a family. Ben and Sara have fallen into the habit of turning to each other for moral and physical support as they wait for Mr. and Ms. Right to arrive. Their friend Aaron (Fran Kranz, “Dollhouse”), a romantic at heart, doesn’t approve of Ben and Sara's complicated friendship, but he, along with womanizer Hoon (Ian Reed Kesler) and straight shooter Riley (Jessica Lucas, “Cloverfield”), are all distracted with their own dating trials and tribulations. David Nevins (“Lie to Me,” “Arrested Development”) joins Grazer as executive producer for Imagine Television. Also serving as executive producers are David Dobkin (“Wedding Crashers”), who directs the pilot, writers Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber (“(500) Days of Summer”), and Jeff Kleeman. “Friends With Benefits” is a production of 20th Century Fox Television, Imagine Television and Big Kid Pictures. http://www.nbc.com/friends-with-benefits/
New One-Hour Comedy Series
‘LOVE BITES’ – From Emmy Award-winning writer-producer Cindy Chupack (“Sex and the City”), “Love Bites” is an hour-long romantic comedy anthology series featuring three loosely connected, modern stories of love, sex, marriage and dating. Each episode contains multiple vignettes, all illuminating the theme of love with an edgy, irreverent spin. Becki Newton (“Ugly Betty”) stars as Annie and Jordana Spiro (“My Boys”) stars as Frannie, the last two single girls standing after all of their friends get married. Annie is an infectiously bubbly optimist and Frannie is an always-a-bridesmaid realist. Their story will anchor the series, while other romantically-challenged characters will come and go each week. The pilot's guest cast includes Jennifer Love Hewitt (“Ghost Whisperer”), Greg Grunberg (“Heroes”), Craig Robinson (“The Office”), Jason Lewis (“Sex and the City”), Lindsay Price (“Lipstick Jungle”), Larry Wilmore (“The Daily Show”), Charlyne Yi (“Knocked Up”), Pamela Adlon (“Californication”), Stacy Galina (“Hidden Hills”), Brian Hallisay (“Privileged”), Kyle Howard (“My Boys”) and Steve Howey (“Bride Wars”). “Love Bites” is a production of Universal Media Studios and Working Title Television, which is a new division of Working Title Films (the U.K. production company behind box office hits including “Love Actually,” “Bridget Jones's Diary” and “Four Weddings and a Funeral”). Chupack is creator, executive producer and writer. Emmy Award-winning producer-director Marc Buckland (“My Name Is Earl”) also is executive producer and directs the pilot. Eric Fellner, Tim Bevan and Shelley McCrory from Working Title Television are executive producers. “Love Bites” is Working Title Television’s first U.S. commission. http://www.nbc.com/love-bites/
New Alternative Series
‘SCHOOL PRIDE’ – From executive producers Cheryl Hines ("Curb Your Enthusiasm") and Denise Cramsey ("Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" and "True Beauty"), “School Pride" is a proactive, alternative series that tells the stories of communities coming together to renovate their aging and broken public schools. While transforming the school, the community also restores its sense of value and school pride. The cameras follow students, teachers and parents as they roll up their sleeves and rebuild their own schools, concluding with the unveiling of a brand new, completely transformed school. They are motivated by a quartet of community organizers and personalities -- SWAT Commander Tom Stroup, interior designer Susie Castillo (“House of Payne”), comedian and former substitute teacher Kym Whitley (“Til Death”) and political correspondent Jacob Soboroff ("AMC News”). Together, the team of experts will lead the community through the makeover process. Months later, cameras will revisit the school to discover the lasting effects of the transformation -- a renewed sense of school pride and an increase in student achievement scores. "School Pride" is produced by Horizon Alternative Television. http://www.nbc.com/school-pride/
tbswatcher 05-16-2010, 05:35 PM Okay I guess I'll be watching NBC only on Monday from 8:00pm to 10:00pm. Chuck is one of my favorite shows and The Event sounds pretty cool.
benjamoon 05-16-2010, 05:37 PM My thoughts:
MONDAY
8-9 p.m. - “Chuck”
9-10 p.m. - “THE EVENT”
10-11 p.m. - “CHASE”
--- NBC needed a revamp on this night and they succeed from 9-11. "Chuck" is still a weak start to the night... I'm kinda surprised it was left in such a high profile time slot to start off the fall. Out of the two new shows, I think "Chase" has a better chance of survival as "The Event" sounds a bit too high concept to me. It will probably have a big draw initially that will be hard to sustain whereas "Chase" sounds like a good 10pm show that can compete with "Castle" and "CSI: Miami" or a new CBS drama. My biggest concern for this night is that these male-oriented shows are competing with "Monday Night Football" in the fall.
TUESDAY
8-10 p.m. - “The Biggest Loser”
10-11 p.m. - “Parenthood”
--- Just as I predicted, they leave Tuesday in tact. I do agree that they could have tried a comedy at 9:30pm because I don't think "Parenthood" depends too much on its lead-in. Expect more of the same from these two shows but NBC had so many holes to fill and this night was relatively stable
WEDNESDAY
8-9 p.m. - “UNDERCOVERS”
9-10 p.m. - “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit”
10-11 p.m. - “LAW & ORDER: LOS ANGELES”
--- Not a fan of the moves here at all. I'm OK with "Undercovers" at 8pm - it sounds like a fun 8pm drama - but I really don't like SVU moving to 9pm especially in favor of LOLA. "SVU" was dying a quick death at 9pm Wednesdays in the fall, especially against CBS powerhouse "Criminal Minds" but it's shown some signs of life after moving back to 10pm following the Jay Leno debacle. Now it's back to 9pm which I think will weaken both SVU and the 10pm hour because I don't think people are in the mood for more L&O even if its in a new city. Probably the worst scheduled night.
THURSDAY
8- 8:30 p.m. - “Community”
8:30-9 p.m. - “30 Rock”
9-9:30 p.m. - “The Office”
9:30-10 p.m. - “OUTSOURCED”
10-11 p.m. - “LOVE BITES”
--- Exactly as I predicted, although I don't love everything about it. I DO love "30 Rock" finally getting out of the 9:30 slot that it has done nothing with for years. I also like "Love Bites" at 10pm - it makes sense for me to keep things lighthearted and in an unconventional way. "Love Bites" could be the answer for NBC in this timeslot. What I do not like is "Outsourced" - although I predicted that it would get this slot, I think it sounds TERRIBLE. It seems destined to have a niche audience much smaller than NBC's already low rated shows on this night and I think some will find the concept offensive. The question here is when "Outsourced" crashes and burns (which I think it will), what happens to 9:30pm? Does "Parks & Rec" come there? Or a new comedy? Or does "30 Rock" move back?
FRIDAY
8-9 p.m. - “Who Do You Think You Are?”/”SCHOOL PRIDE”
9-10 p.m. - “Dateline NBC”
10-11 p.m. - “OUTLAW”
--- "Who Do You Think You Are" did decently here and "Dateline" is a staple. I am all for scripted programming on Fridays but "Outlaw" will probably die a quick death. It doesn't sound compelling enough to make anyone want to stay home on a Friday night and watch. I predict "Outlaw" will be one of the first casualties for next season. I would have put "Minute to Win It" somewhere here and kept Sundays open in midseason. "School Pride" actually sounds more like a companion for WDYTYA than a replacement but oh well. It will probably do decently for a Friday night reality show standard.
SATURDAY
Encore programming
--- I would love to see networks try on Saturdays again but that sounds like a job for CBS, NBC has more pressing needs
SUNDAY
7- 8:15 p.m. - "Football Night in America"
8:15-11:30 p.m. - "NBC Sunday Night Football"
--- Of course, I am READY for the 2010 Football Season! Why is it still months away?
SUNDAY (beginning March 2011)
7-8 p.m. - “Dateline NBC”
8-9 p.m. - “Minute to Win It”
9-11 p.m. - “The Celebrity Apprentice”
--- What is the plan for Jan & Feb? Anyway, why does "Apprentice" have to be 2 hours? I wish NBC would try something a little more bold here.
MIDSEASON SHOWS
--- "The Cape" doesn't sound amazing, I am not interested in yet another David E. Kelley legal drama but I hear Kathy Bates is good in this one. "Perfect Couples" sounds promising - sort of a singles version of "Modern Family." I love Paul Reiser but his self titled show only sounds ok. I'll give it a chance just because of him though. "Friends with Benefits" could go either way, but it sounds a little close to "Friends" just in single camera form. NBC must be thinking about another comedy hour somewhere with three new comedies and "Parks & Rec" on deck.
TO SUM UP (my opinion):
At least they tried with Mondays, we'll see how the new shows do. Tuesdays are good except I would try a comedy at 9:30. Wednesdays are poorly thought out, Thursdays are good except I would try a different new comedy at 9:30, Fridays are ok but "Outlaw" will die quickly. Saturdays and Sundays to be expected
Best Chance for Success: Undercovers, Chase, Love Bites
Most Likely to Fail: Outsourced, Outlaw
Most Appealing New Drama: Undercovers
Most Appealing New Comedy: Perfect Couples
Mr. Television 05-16-2010, 06:24 PM The Event, Chase and Undercovers sound like good shows. I don't know if the Event or Chase will make it though. Two new shows smack in the middle of ABC and CBS's hit prime-time lineups. And men will be watching MNF. If I plan to watch them, I'll have to use my DVR. I'm very glad Chuck is back but it won't do anything on Mondays at 8. As for SVU, I'm about ready to quit watching it. It was a chore trying to catch it opposite Criminal Minds and Modern Family. I still have about 4 episodes I haven't watched yet.
benjamoon 05-16-2010, 07:01 PM Just caught some sneak peeks of the pilots on spoilertv.com... "Undercovers" looks GREAT, "Love Bites" looks like it could be funny, "Outlaw" was surprisingly interesting, "Outsourced" looks as bad as I thought it would be, nothing too special about "Chase," "The Event," and "Harry's Law"
of course its hard to judge on a minute or two of footage but those were my first impressions
mgsports 05-16-2010, 08:18 PM Good one but Saturday's shouldn't be repeats.
Pavan 05-17-2010, 12:57 AM I think I said it on Twitter, but NBC messed up again. But expected. The predicted schedule I did would have made more sense. Chuck leading into two new dramas on Monday is terrible, especially with MNF opposite those male-skewing dramas. I guess leaving Parenthood on Tuesdays at 10 was fine. I like the Undercovers scheduling and I think it could work depending on what Fox/CBS/ABC do, but then two hours of Law & Order is idiotic. LOLA would have been better for Friday. And I said it on the blog prediction last week, the Thursday 8pm hour needs new blood (something more broad like Perfect Couples or Friends with Benefits) and they go with 30 Rock in an earlier slot? Love Bites is a one-hour comedy, so on paper it makes sense at 10 after comedies--but it is not going after the same audience as the 8-10pm comedies. As of now, my first bet for cancelation is Love Bites. Fridays is fine, older skewing stuff.
Cactus Jack 05-17-2010, 01:26 PM The rest sound good though, Ill check em out like I usually do LOL
The Strip sounded awesome, but maybe people didnt like the pilot , which sucks
TVgeek14 05-17-2010, 04:01 PM I`m watching the NBC trailers for Fall 2010 and so i will give my inital reaction
The Cape - Looks very interesting. Premise looks good but some acting a bit off.
Chase - Another one of those "Shows". These "Shows" are known to be ratings shows which ultimately fail. Past Life,Forgotton and FlashForward.
The Event - LOVE IT. Hopefully they will promote the hell out of this show and it will be The Next LOST and Not The Next Flashforward.
Friends With Benefits - "Meh". Characters seem interesting but in the end its just a comedy with nothing interesting about it. Just friends finding love.
Harry`s Law - While it seems very interesting,Brittany Snow`s character is unappealing. NOT BRITTANY SNOW,BUT HER CHARACTER.
Love Bites - The idea is interesting, different episode different story. So its an anthology love series. I`m tempted to give this a try.
Outlaw - BORING! Law & Order Wannabe. Uninteresting characters and Uninteresting Story. No wonder it was shafted to Fridays.
Outsourced - Honestly. I found this pretty funny. No really it has some pretty good jokes and some funny characters. Worth a shot and good slot After The Office.
The Paul Reiser Show - Unfunny but slightly appealing.
Perfect Couples - Its Love Bites with a cast. Granted it is pretty decent but its nothing spectacular or amazing. But i think if given a solid timeslot and good promotion, maybe it could go well.
School Pride - BOORINGISH. Nothing i am interested in. I would maybe grab a bulldozzer after Arnold Schwarztnegger`s cute speech in the end and smash down the building. I would then say "I`ll Be Back...For Episode 2". Now that would be entertainment.
Undercovers - Anything JJ Abrams gets his hands on is going to be great. Judging by the trailer,NBC have a winner. Chemistry between Husband & Wife is great and theres one character that reminds us of a character from Alias.
Overall some hits and some misses but judging by the looks of it. Its a step up from last season.

Pavan 07-01-2010, 07:30 PM NBC has pulled Love Bites from the fall schedule due to "production issues" and will air it in midseason instead. The Appentice will air Thursdays at 10pm instead.
Maybe The Apprentice will be third in its timeslot and Trump will still say he is the #1 show on TV.
NBC UNVEILS NEW EDITION OF 'THE APPRENTICE' ON THURSDAYS (10-11 P.M. ET) AS DONALD TRUMP RETURNS TO PUT AMERICA BACK TO WORK
New Version Will Offer the Opportunity of a Lifetime to 16 Candidates Who Have Been Hit Hard by Economy
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - July 1, 2010 -- NBC will debut the newly revised edition of its previously announced "The Apprentice" series on Thursdays (10-11 p.m. ET) beginning this Fall.
NBC and Donald Trump want to put America back to work -- and after a long wait, the boardroom will be open again for candidates who have lost their jobs as the network showcases an updated version of the popular original alternative series "The Apprentice," with Trump returning to preside.
"Love Bites," the hour-long romantic comedy anthology series that was previously scheduled for Thursdays (10-11 p.m. ET) beginning this Fall, will premiere later during the 2010-11 season.
"Everyone at the network loves 'Love Bites,' but for a number of reasons, it now makes sense to showcase the comedic anthology series a little later in the new season," said Mitch Metcalf, Executive Vice President, Program Planning & Scheduling, NBC Entertainment. "We're extremely fortunate to have a potent show such as the new and contemporary version of Donald Trump's 'The Apprentice' ready to step into the slot and keep our Thursday lineup moving forward from a position of strength."
Trump will give the opportunity of a lifetime to 16 new candidates ranging in age -- all of whom have been hit hard by the current economic downturn. These will include talented and bright prospects who have lost their jobs with no hope in sight as well as recent college graduates who currently have few if any prospects. Joining Trump will be boardroom advisers Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump and George Ross. Also included among the advisers will be a more focused group of business guest executives in the revolving chair -- both relevant to the tasks at hand and to the corporate employment environment.
The new season of "The Apprentice" -- which just finished shooting this week in New York City -- promises to be an engaging and fresh look at the changing face of corporate America. It will showcase what has turned out to be an incredible cast of candidates, all vying to become "The Apprentice" and all deserving of a fresh start to their careers.
Times have changed since "The Apprentice" first premiered in 2004. Instead of the high-flying rewards enjoyed by winning teams in previous seasons, Trump has re-directed the focus to more meaningful rewards aimed at improving the lives of the candidates. As a result, winning Project Managers will be rewarded with one-on-one meetings with some of America's best-known business leaders and CEOs.
The winner will land a job within The Trump Organization with a six-figure salary.
"The Apprentice" is produced by Mark Burnett Productions in association with Trump Productions LLC. Mark Burnett and Donald Trump are executive producers.

The changes are smart moves by NBC - sampling "Outlaw" and "Parenthood" after AGT is a good move, as "Outlaw" will need help against "Blue Bloods" and "Parenthood" could use help too
Although I think CBS has the best fall schedule in terms of where they put shows, I think NBC has the most exciting pilots. Aside from "Outsourced" which looks terrible, I'm intrigued by every single pilot
James28 08-12-2010, 03:38 PM You know something? NBC already had a TV series named "Chase" in the 1973-74 season. It was produced by Stephen J. Cannell and starred Mitch Ryan, Wayne Maunder, and Reid Smith.

yay for The Event! Don't care too much about the other two. I don't think "Outsourced" will get the whole season at 9:30 Thurs though.
"Chase" has grown on me a lot over the last couple weeks, I'd like to see it do better but it's tanking right now
Pavan 10-18-2010, 06:15 PM NBC ORDERS FULL-SEASON PICKUPS FOR NEW SERIES 'THE EVENT,' 'LAW & ORDER: LOS ANGELES' AND 'OUTSOURCED'
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - October 18, 2010 - NBC has given full-season pickups to three of its new Fall 2010-11 series, "The Event," "Law & Order: Los Angeles" and "Outsourced." The announcement was made by Angela Bromstad, President, Primetime Entertainment, NBC and Universal Media Studios.
"We are pleased with the quality of 'The Event,' 'Law & Order: Los Angeles' and 'Outsourced,' and feel they are an important part of helping to re-build our schedule and our studio pipeline," said Bromstad. "We believe in these new series and the creative auspices behind them."
Through October 11, "The Event" has averaged a 3.0 rating, 7 share in adults 18-49 and 9.1 million viewers overall in "most current" averages from Nielsen Media Research. "The Event" has generated a 30 percent improvement in the time period versus year-ago "most current" results for NBC in 18-49 rating (with a 3.0 rating vs. a 2.3) and a 47 percent increase in total viewers (9.1 million vs. 6.2 million). On a percentage basis, "The Event" was the most time-shifted new series in adults 18-49 during premiere week from among the ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox primetime lineups, with 35 percent of "The Event's" "live plus seven day" rating being accounted for by time-shifting. Additionally, "The Event" was licensed to nearly 200 territories internationally even before its U.S. premiere, and is launching in numerous regions abroad to impressive ratings.
As of October 13, "Law & Order: Los Angeles" has averaged a 2.5 rating, 7 share in adults 18-49 and 8.7 million viewers overall in "live plus same day" averages from Nielsen. "Law & Order: L.A." has delivered a 39 percent improvement in the time period versus year-ago "live plus same day" results for NBC in 18-49 rating (with a 2.5 rating vs. a 1.8) and a 45 percent increase in total viewers (8.7 million vs. 6.0 million).
Through October 14, "Outsourced" has averaged a 3.0 rating, 8 share in adults 18-49 and 6.3 million viewers overall in "most current" averages from Nielsen. In the valuable adult 18-34 demographic, "Outsourced" is averaging a 3.3 rating, making it the #1 new series on ABC, CBS, NBC or Fox this fall. "Outsourced" is also heavily time-shifted, adding 19 percent to its "live plus same day" 18-49 rating when Nielsen issued "live plus seven day" results for premiere week (to a 4.29 rating from a 3.59), making it the top gainer among first-year half-hour comedies on the ABC, CBS, NBC or Fox primetime lineups.
"The Event" (Mondays, 9-10 p.m. ET) is an emotional, high-octane drama that follows Sean Walker (Jason Ritter, "The Class"), an everyman who investigates the mysterious disappearance of his would-be fiance, Leila (Sarah Roemer, "Disturbia"), and unwittingly begins to expose the biggest cover-up in U.S. history. Sean's quest sends ripples through the lives of an eclectic band of strangers, including newly elected U.S. President Elias Martinez (Golden Globe nominee Blair Underwood, "In Treatment"); Sophia Maguire (Emmy Award nominee Laura Innes, "ER"), who is the leader of a mysterious group of detainees; and Leila's shadowy father (Scott Patterson, "Gilmore Girls"). Ian Anthony Dale ("Daybreak"), Clifton Collins Jr. ("Star Trek"), Taylor Cole ("The Violent Kind"), Lisa Vidal ("The Division"), Bill Smitrovich ("The Practice") and Emmy winner eljko Ivanek ("Damages") also star.
"The Event" is a production of Universal Media Studios and Steve Stark Productions. Evan Katz ("24") serves as executive producer/show-runner; Steve Stark ("Medium," "Facing Kate") serves as executive producer; Jeffrey Reiner (NBC's "Friday Night Lights," "Trauma") is director/executive producer, and Nick Wauters ("The 4400," "Eureka") is creator/co-executive producer.
"Law & Order: Los Angeles" (Wednesdays, 10-11 p.m. ET) fuses the classic ripped- from-the-headlines storytelling with the distinctive backdrop of L.A. The drama follows Detectives Rex Winters (Skeet Ulrich, "Jericho") and Tomas "TJ" Jaruszalski (Corey Stoll, "Midnight in Paris") who are members of the L.A.P.D.'s elite Robbery Homicide Division. Their boss, Lt. Arleen Gonzales, (Rachel Ticotin), is driven and meticulous. Deputy District Attorney Ricardo Morales (Alfred Molina, "The Da Vinci Code," "Spiderman 2") is a sarcastic realist. Oscar nominee Terrence Howard ("Hustle & Flow") portrays methodical Deputy District Attorney Jonah Dekker and shares the position with Morales in alternate episodes. At Morales' side is the idealistic Deputy District Attorney Evelyn Price (Regina Hall, "Death at a Funeral"). Megan Boone ("Cold Case") plays Deputy District Attorney Lauren Stanton who works at Dekker's side.
The series is a Wolf Films production in association with Universal Media Studios. Wolf is creator and executive producer, Rene Balcer ("Law & Order," "Law & Order: Criminal Intent"), Blake Masters ("Brotherhood," "Rubicon"), Christopher Misiano ("West Wing," "ER") and Peter Jankowski ("Law & Order," "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," "Law & Order: Criminal Intent") are executive producers.
"Outsourced" (Thursdays, 9:30-10 p.m. ET) is NBC's popular new workplace comedy series centered on a catalog-based company, Mid America Novelties, which sees its call center suddenly outsourced to India. When Manager Todd Dempsy (Ben Rappaport, off-Broadway's "The Gingerbread House") moves there, culture shock ensues when Todd inherits a sales team that includes: Gupta (Parvesh Cheena, "Help Me Help You"), a socially awkward employee; Manmeet (Sacha Dhawan, BBC's "Five Days II"), a young romantic; Asha (Rebecca Hazlewood, BBC's "Doctors"), a smart, striking woman; Rajiv (Rizwan Manji, "Privileged"), the assistant manager; and Madhuri (Anisha Nagarajan, Broadway's "Bombay Dreams"), suffers from shyness. The series also stars Diedrich Bader ("The Drew Carey Show") and Pippa Black ("Neighbours").
From Universal Media Studios, "Outsourced" is executive-produced by show-runner Robert Borden ("The Drew Carey Show" "George Lopez") and director Ken Kwapis ("He's Just Not That Into You," "The Office"), who developed the project through his company, In Cahoots. Victor Nelli, Jr. ("Ugly Betty"), Tom Gorai ("Outsourced" theatrical release) and David Skinner ("Outsourced" theatrical release) also serve as executive producers, and Alex Beattie serves as co-executive producer.

Of all the shows to preempt they choose Parenthood? Doesn't make much sense. You'd think they would use the Biggest Loser finale, which always pulls in extra viewers, as a better lead-in to Parenthood. Oh well. I guess they'd rather save episodes and not have to air repeats in spring.

benjamoon 11-12-2010, 11:05 PM NBC Scoop: Network ponders three hour comedy block on Thursdays
After the current – and very low-rated – installment of The Apprentice ends its run, NBC could go with a three-hour block of comedies on Thursdays.
Sources told EW that the Peacock may shake up the lineup, with 30 Rock possibly moving to 10 p.m., to make way for the return of the critically-beloved Parks and Recreation and the new comedy Perfect Couples, which has been described as depicting “the misadventures of three engaging couples as they struggle to find out what makes the ideal relationship — and how to maintain it through humorous trial-and-error.” NBC’s other cult faves – The Office and Community - would likely remain in their timeslots, while Outsourced could go at 10:30 after 30 Rock. NBC would not comment, but the possibility of a lineup change certainly piqued the interest of the competing networks. Says one high powered suit, “They’ve got nothing to lose at this point.”
There’s still a chance that NBC could move a Law & Order into the important 10 p.m. timeslot on Thursdays since it owns a piece of the legal franchise, but a three-hour comedy block would create buzz and provide good counter-programming to the stiff competition from The Mentalist and Private Practice. And this wouldn’t be the first time that NBC ran six comedies. During the 1990-91 season, then-NBC topper Brandon Tartikoff scheduled Parenthood, Working it Out, The Golden Girls, Empty Nest, Carol & Company and American Dreamer on Saturday nights.
Meanwhile, the current installment of The Apprentice has been a big disappointment for the Peacock. Though the network attempted to reboot the franchise to make it more applicable to the ailing economy, the show has hit historic lows this season. It ticked up on Nov. 11 (up 14 percent to a 1.6 rating/5 share among adults 18-49, and averaging 4.5 million), but NBC’s numbers were inflated because of an NFL game in Baltimore.

That would certainly be drastic, but like the article said, what do they have left to lose?
6 sitcoms seems like a lot, though...I don't really care for the idea, but it would be interesting to see them try something different. The only sitcom they have that I watch is The Office. 30 Rock at 10PM would be interesting.

benjamoon 11-15-2010, 07:04 PM Very interesting moves across the board for NBC.
Things I like:
- Parks and Rec after The Office!! Parks and Rec really hit its stride last season, I can't wait for it to come back
- Comedies at 10pm on Thurs (can't be worse than The Apprentice)
- SVU back to a 10pm hour
- Los Angeles/SVU split up (though I would have done the opposite and sent SVU to Tues at 10)
- The Event being held off and (probably) being run uninterrupted with a likely renewed promo push. I'm really enjoying this show. Of course the hiatus for an already dying show sounds a lot like ABC's FlashForward last year
Things I don't like:
- "Chase"'s chances against "Modern Family" and "Criminal Minds" - though I happen to like all three shows!
- "Parenthood" remaining at a 10pm slot
- Wasting Jan & Feb Sundays for Specials
Overall, not bad moves because they need a lot of help. I can't imagine things being worse than now for NBC with this schedule though I don't like the The Cape/Harry's Law combo's chance of success
icecream 11-15-2010, 07:15 PM Things I Don't Like:
- Wasting Jan & Feb Sundays for Specials3 of the Sundays in February will have the Super Bowl, Grammys, and Oscars all on competing networks. A regular series would get killed there.
ryan423 11-15-2010, 07:42 PM Here are my thoughts on NBC's new scheduling + how I would've gone about things myself:
Monday’s with CHUCK at 8 isn’t a surprise. If it remains consistent, it’ll stay through next May and then be cancelled once it hits the pivotal hundredth episode, but it’s not necessarily the best move. THE EVENT is dead. Dead. Last week’s 1.7 without the CHUCK lead in is a complete and utter embarrassment. The scheduling for THE CAPE (which will only air a total of 8 episodes) and HARRY’S LAW (which will only air a total of 6 episodes) leads me to assume that these two shows are already dead, and are merely timeslot holders in an attempt for NBC to go through the 2010-11 season without repeats of their already low-rated shows. PARENTHOOD, at least in my opinion, has been given the weirdest scheduling with Monday's at 10pm. I do not understand how one would assume the remaining viewers from THE EVENT will stick around for a family-oriented drama.
Tuesday - I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again before the ratings decline continues, albeit slow: move THE BIGGEST LOSER to Monday’s! It’s clearly one of NBC’s only reliable shows, and NBC at its current state has to realize that their best bet for Monday’s is unscripted programming, at least from 8-10pm. LAW & ORDER: LOS ANGELES can be tossed around and placed on any night at 10pm. If NBC were to have programmed a separate night of comedy, it should’ve been Tuesdays from 8-9. NBC should place PARENTHOOD behind the comedy block, and then follow it with a show which, I believe, would attract a portion of the PARENTHOOD audience: WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?
Wednesday’s are now all about ABC single-camera comedies (sorry ‘Better with You’), so one can hope NBC would never be stupid enough to program their own. Law & Order: SVU can stay at 10pm, but 8-10 needs shows that are relatively cheap to produce so that their ratings’ loss won’t hurt the network as badly, at least financially.
Thursday’s – NBC will never give up their Thursday night comedy block, and that’s fine, but they need to take 30 ROCK and use it to anchor the night at 9pm. Clearly, 30 ROCK maintains its audience in any timeslot. NBC should’ve taken THE OFFICE (their highest rated comedy) while Steve Carrel was still present, and had it anchor a new hour of comedy on Tuesdays at 8pm, and have PARKS AND RECREATION follow it at 8:30, so when and if OFFICE is eventually cancelled and/or ends, they might have another comedy to anchor said Tuesday block… plus, imagine all the hype Carrel’s final weeks will receive. NBC should’ve moved OUTSOURCED to 8pm and let it die a slow death up against CBS, and moved COMMUNITY to 9:30 after 30 ROCK to help it improve its numbers. A new comedy (PERFECT COUPLES) could premiere at 8:30 and NBC could’ve accepted defeat in the hour (at least for now) while they concentrated on building a strong 9pm hour. Law & Order: LA could have been placed at 10pm.
Friday’s – Screw Fridays. Clearly, nothing is working out for NBC, so here’s the night to have Dateline air from 8-10 and lead into all their shows with “dead man walking” status which can share the timeslot at 10pm through May (or possibly the summer). At least these shows would have Dateline’s ratings as a lead in.
Saturday's - RERUNS
Sunday’s – Keep as it has been programmed with MARRIAGE REF and APPRENTICE.
My NBC Schedule
MONDAY –
8pm – The Biggest Loser
10pm – THE CAPE / The Event
TUESDAY –
8pm – The Office
8:30pm – Parks and Recreation
9pm – Parenthood
10pm – Who Do You Think You Are?
WEDNESDAY –
8pm – Minute to Win It / AMERICA’S NEXT GREAT RESTAURANT
9pm – Chuck
10pm – Law & Order: SVU
THURSDAY –
8pm – Outsourced
8:30pm – PERFECT COUPLES
9pm – 30 Rock
9:30pm – Community
10pm – Law & Order: LA
FRIDAY –
8pm – Dateline NBC
10pm – HARRY’S LAW / Chase
SATURDAY –
8-11PM – RERUNS

Well it's ratings are certainly less than impressive but quality-wise, I think it's turned into a pretty decent procedural. I didn't like the pilot at all but it's grown on me a lot. It would have been a hit on CBS

I can't wait to see how Thursdays do when the comedy night starts. The ratings will be interesting to see. I have to applaud them for trying something different....while I'm not extremely thrilled with a lot of their decisions in recent times, I still hope and am sure the Peacock can and will turn around.
Du Mont 12-04-2010, 11:52 PM NBC has announced a preview special for their mid-season line-up titled 'NBC's Spring Primetime Preview Show'. The special will be available on-line at the following link, in addition to being distributed as an affiliate special.
http://www.nbc.com/movies-specials-more/video/nbcs-spring-primetime-preview-show/1262922/
'NBC's Spring Primetime Preview Show' will feature looks at NBC's new winter- and spring-debuting series including 'The Cape', 'Harry's Law', 'Perfect Couples', as well as the return of 'Parks and Recreation', and profiling Mr. Steven Carell's final episodes as star of 'The Office'.
FOX has already previewed 'Bob's Burgers' with a lengthy featured promo embedded within the recent broadcast premiere of THE SIMPSONS MOVIE, and it is unlikely that we'll see mid-season preview specials from CBS and The CW due to their limited utilization of mid-season replacements. However, I do expect to see something from ABC as they have a large number of new series debuting between January and April.

NBC to expand 'Sing Off' finale and sneak 'Perfect Couples' next Monday
This just in: NBC will use a newly expanded finale of hit competish "The Sing Off" next Monday to preview midseason sitcom "Perfect Couples."
"The Sing Off" finale will now run from 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 20, leading into an episode of "Perfect Couples" at 10:30 p.m.
The "Perfect Couples" episode won't be the show's pilot, but instead an episode that NBC execs felt was one of its strongest. "Perfect Couples" will still bow in its normal Thursday at 8:30 p.m. slot on Jan. 20, when NBC officially launches its new six-comedy lineup.
In extending "Sing Off" an extra half hour and pairing it with "Perfect Couples," NBC won't run a repeat of "Chuck" at 10 p.m. as originally planned.

Unscripted seems to be doing better for the Peacock than scripted for the most part. The Sing Off has done very well.
I would not be surprised to see more reality and game shows popping up over there if that type of programming does better and it is cheaper to produce.

Seems like Harry's Law is destined to be a hit for NBC, maybe not in the demo, but definitely in viewers. It's hard to say if the Castle viewers went to Harry's Law or Hawaii Five-0 last night. I guess we'll see next week, but if I had to guess, I'd say either Castle or Hawaii will be sub-par come next week.

Love Bites, Friends With Benefits & The Paul Reiser Show pretty much cancelled before they even premiered. Same article notes NBC plans to launch The Voice in April.
Cyrax 02-28-2011, 05:32 PM The Voice gets a its premiere date:
Grammy Award winner Cee Lo Green – the popular singer-songwriter-producer — and fellow Grammy Award winner Adam Levine (Maroon 5) have been named as two of the four musician coaches on NBC’s new musical competition series “The Voice,” a show about real vocal talent that will premiere on Tuesday, April 26 (9-11 p.m. ET). Following the premiere, “The Voice” will air on Tuesday, May 3 (9-11 p.m. ET) and then move to its regular time period beginning May 10 (8-9 p.m. ET).
How many weeks is supposed to last The Voice ?
Around two months before the return of America's Got Talent in June ?
And what do you think of this :
Tuesdays
8pm : America's Got Talent(2-hour)
10pm : Law & Order Los Angeles (all new)
There is 14 episodes left for LOLA and still no return date...
I predict a return of LOLA on May 10th at 10pm with The Biggest Loser as a lead-in. Then, 2-hour episodes of The Voice before LOLA after may sweeps throught mid-june, then America's Got Talent is back late june after The Voice ended.

At this rate NBC might just hold Law & Order:LA until next season and relaunch it.
Cyrax 03-01-2011, 04:41 AM Supposedly The Voice is just a handful of episodes. I guess if it works, they can launch it again during the Fall to steal X-Factor's audience.
LOLA was indeed meant to be at Tuesday 10 pm but it seems they have some production issues. I'm not convinced if it comes back next season, possibly the current NBC executives might not like it, so maybe just for the summer? Then again they will probably have to cancel the complete Monday bunch so they still might save LOLA for a midseason replacement. But I definitely think the "postponed to a later date" means the show has major issues, considering what happened to the 3 comedies that never aired...
Cyrax 03-01-2011, 06:57 AM Just saw this report from The Futon Critic, I guess LOLA could indeed go to Tuesdays in the summer:
http://thefutoncritic.com/news/2011/02/28/exclusive-biggest-loser-will-flip-for-nbcs-voice-433122/9153/
LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- NBC's "The Biggest Loser" will head to 9:00/8:00c for the last three weeks of the season, network sources have confirmed to the site exclusively.
In addition, the Peacock will scale back the series to one-hour on Tuesday, April 26 and Tuesday, May 3 to make room for the launch of "The Voice."
The following week (May 10) "Loser" will shift to 9:00/8:00c with "The Voice" now leading off the night at 8:00/7:00c. "Loser" will ultimately wrap its 11th season on May 24 while "The Voice" is currently booked through June 28.
To recap:
Tuesdays (April 26-May 3)
8:00/7:00c - "The Biggest Loser" (One-Hour Episodes)
9:00/8:00c - "The Voice" (Two-Hour Episodes)
Tuesdays (May 10-May 24)

-- And finally, "Law & Order: Los Angeles" will continue with original episodes through June 27. Cyrax 03-18-2011, 01:32 AM NBC PICKS UP THREE RETURNING COMEDIES FOR 2011-12 IN "THE OFFICE," "PARKS AND RECREATION" AND "COMMUNITY"
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - March 17, 2011 - NBC has issued pickups for three returning comedy series in 2011-12 that include "The Office," "Parks and Recreation" and "Community," it was announced today by Bob Greenblatt, Chairman, NBC Entertainment.
"I am so pleased to renew these three outstanding comedies which are all at the top of their game creatively," said Greenblatt. "Along with '30 Rock,' they represent the best of what the NBC comedy brand stands for in terms of originality, wit, and sophistication. 'The Office' continues to fire on all cylinders on the most competitive night of television; 'Parks & Recreation' has come into its own this season as the rightful companion to 'The Office'; and 'Community' is one of the freshest comedies on any network and a solid foundation for Thursday night."
"The Office" (Thursdays, 9-9:30 p.m. ET) is delivering a 4.0 rating, 10 share in adults 18-49 and 7.7 million viewers overall through the season's first 25 weeks, ranking in primetime's top 15 in adults 18-49 and top five in adults 18-34 (excluding NFL pre- and post-game shows), making it NBC's #1 scripted show in both categories. "The Office" is the #2 most upscale primetime show on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox or CW in terms of its concentration of adults 18-49 living in homes with $100,000-plus incomes, behind only NBC's "30 Rock."
Season to date, "Parks and Recreation" (Thursdays, 9:30-10 p.m. ET) is delivering a 2.8/7 in 18-49 and 5.5 million viewers overall. With its move this season to Thursday's 9:30 p.m. ET half-hour, "Parks and Recreation" is up versus last season by 17 percent in adult 18-49 rating (2.8 vs. 2.4) and up 9 percent in total viewers (5.5 million vs. 5.1 million). In the valuable adult 18-34 demographic, "Parks and Recreation" is NBC's #2 scripted series and ranks in the top 20 overall with a 3.2 rating.
"Community" (Thursdays, 8-8:30 p.m. ET) is averaging a 2.1/6 in 18-49 and 4.7 million viewers overall, continuing to deliver solid numbers in a time period that includes competition from Fox' "American Idol," CBS's "Big Bang Theory" and ABC's "Wipeout." "Community" is also one of the most upscale primetime series on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox or CW, with a top-15 ranking in its concentration of adults 18-49 living in home with $100,000-plus incomes.
One of television's most critically acclaimed comedies, "The Office" has been nominated for the Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series every season and won the award in 2006. Its ensemble has also been nominated every season since 2006 for the SAG Award (winning in 2007 and 2008) and was also nominated for a Golden Globe Award for four consecutive seasons (2007-2010). The series received the George Foster Peabody Award in 2006.

NBC ANNOUNCES STRONG SLATE OF ORIGINAL PROGRAMMING FOR SUMMER 2011 SCHEDULE
Network Showcases Season Premiere of "America's Got Talent," Debut of New Alternative Series "It's Worth What?" and Return of "The Marriage Ref" with Jerry Seinfeld
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. -- March 21, 2011 - NBC revealed its strong slate of original series programming for Summer 2011 that features the sixth-season premiere of summer's top-rated "America's Got Talent" on Tuesday, May 31 (9-11 p.m. ET), the announcement of the new alternative series "It's Worth What?" and the second-season debut of "The Marriage Ref" on Sunday, June 26 (10-11 p.m. ET).
In addition, NBC will offer fresh programs such as the musical competition series "The Voice" (regular day and time Tuesdays, 8-9 p.m. ET) through June as well as the new alternative series "Still Standing" (working title in the U.S.) and "Love in the Wild" (days and times TBA). Original episodes of the drama "Law & Order: Los Angeles" (Mondays, 10-11 p.m. ET) also continue.
NBC also will present the broadcast network premiere of the final season of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" on Monday, May 30 (9-10 p.m. ET). Meanwhile, the last season of "Friday Night Lights" (Fridays, 8-9 p.m. ET) also continues well into the summer.
The announcements were made today by Bob Greenblatt, Chairman, NBC Entertainment.
"We want to make it clear that NBC considers the summer as an important part of its overall season and will continue to offer a varied lineup of original programs," said Greenblatt. "Our viewers will have plenty of options with new series such as 'It's Worth What?' and 'Love in the Wild' as well as continuing shows such as 'The Voice' plus returning favorites like 'America's Got Talent.' We even have scripted series such as 'Friday Night Lights,' and episodes of two separate 'Law and Order' franchises as we build momentum toward the fall season."
"America's Got Talent" - television's top-rated summer series - will premiere its sixth season on Tuesday, May 31 (9-11 p.m. ET) with a two-hour broadcast. After its debut, the series will resume its run on Tuesdays (9-10 p.m. ET) from June 7 through June 28. The series then will begin two-hour Tuesday editions (9-11 p.m. ET) starting July 5 until September 6. "America's Got Talent" will debut its Wednesday broadcasts on June 1 (9-10 p.m. ET) -- and will continue on that night through September 7.
On Tuesday, September 13, "America's Got Talent" returns to one hour (9-10 p.m. ET) for its penultimate episode before returning for its season finale on the next night - Wednesday, September 14 (9-11 p.m. ET).
"America's Got Talent" has been the #1 summer series in total viewers for each of its five seasons on the air. Last summer, an edition of "America's Got Talent" was the week's #1 non-sports telecast in total viewers during 14 of the show's 16 weeks on the air. The Tuesday edition averaged a 3.5 rating, 10 share in adults 18-49 and 12.2 million viewers overall last summer and the Wednesday telecast delivered a 3.4/10 in 18-49 and 12.6 million viewers on Wednesdays. The 3.5 rating on Tuesday's matched the second-highest 18-49 average ever for a cycle of "Talent." Last summer's September 15 season finale (3.9/11 in 18-49, 16.4 million viewers overall) scored the highest 18-49 rating for a "Talent" finale in three years and attracted the show's biggest overall audience ever, counting finales and all other telecasts.
"America's Got Talent," from "American Idol" producers FremantleMedia North America and Simon Cowell's SYCO Television, returns with the hottest performers from across the country ready to compete in the blockbuster reality show's sixth season. Celebrity judges are Howie Mandel ("Deal or No Deal"), Sharon Osbourne and Piers Morgan, while actor/producer/comedian Nick Cannon returns as host. "America's Got Talent" is produced by FremantleMedia North America and Simon Cowell's SYCO Television. Simon Cowell, Cecile Frot-Coutaz ("American Idol"), Jason Raff, Ken Warwick ("American Idol") and Georgie Hurford-Jones are executive producers.
NBC will premiere "It's Worth What?" (day and time TBA), a new alternative series hosted by comedian Cedric "The Entertainer" ("The Steve Harvey Show," "The Original Kings of Comedy"). "It's Worth What?" is a game show that taps into America's love for cost and value, such as the hidden gems found in one's attic. A pair of contestants is taken through a series of challenges that escalate in level of difficulty. As a result, they are tasked with discerning the price of the items in each round. If they successfully complete the challenges, contestants can win up to $1 million.
"It's Worth What?" is produced by Merv Griffin Entertainment. The series is created and executive-produced by Lara Spencer ("The Insider") and Roy Bank ("Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?"). Cedric "The Entertainer," Barry Poznick ("Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?), John Stevens ("Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?") and Ron Ward ("Million Dollar Mind Game") also serve as executive producers.
"The Marriage Ref" has Jerry Seinfeld back and in the producer's chair for an all-new and improved second season. In this revealing comedy panel series, real-life married couples take center stage as their quirky, funny, and relatable disputes are explored, examined -- and ultimately judged. New for this season, couples will appear in-studio and face a panel of "experts" composed of top celebrities and comedians who weigh in and decide which spouse is right. This will give couples something they have always wanted but have never had -- a clear winner.
At the end of each episode, the studio audience will vote to make one of the winners "The Rightest of the Right." That person will receive $25,000 and their own billboard, in their hometown, declaring they are right. Comedian Tom Papa ("The Informant!") returns as the host and the "ref." "The Marriage Ref" is produced by Seinfeld's Columbus 81 Productions. Seinfeld, Ellen Rakieten ("The Oprah Winfrey Show"), and Page Hurwitz ("Last Comic Standing") serve as executive producers. Javier Winnik ("Last Comic Standing") is the co-executive producer.
"The Voice" debuts Tuesday, April 26 (9-11 p.m. ET) and will continue with new episodes through the end of June. On "The Voice," four famous musician coaches -- Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton -- will each select singers to mentor into artists during the blind auditions. Once they have their teams, the star coaches will bring in their personal songwriters, producers, and high-powered friends to help their teams evolve. Ultimately, America will decide which singer will be worthy of the grand prize.
Carson Daly hosts the show's innovative format that features three stages of competition. The winner will be named "The Voice" -- and will receive the grand prize of a recording contract and $100,000. "The Voice" is a presentation of Talpa Productions, Mark Burnett and Warner Horizon Television. The series is created by John de Mol, who will executive-produce along with Burnett and Audrey Morrissey.
"Still Standing" is a unique and thrilling game show designed to keep both contestants and viewers on their toes. The new competitive series is based on the hit Israeli series of the same title, which offers contestants the chance to win by out-guessing 10 opponents in 10 fast-paced and dramatic trivia battles. At the start of the game, each player stands behind a coin whose value ranges between $1.00 and $50,000. The value of the coin is hidden from the players, however, and will not be revealed until one of them loses and drops out of the game - literally - through the trapdoor in the studio floor on which he or she is standing.
"Still Standing" is a Universal Media Studios production in association with Armoza Formats. Craig Plestis and Tim Puntilllo serve as executive producers.
"Love in the Wild" is an exciting new - adventure dating series that will put relationships to the ultimate test. Ten single men and 10 single women, all looking for love, will experience a romantic adventure unlike anything they could have ever imagined. The series will follow them as they head deep into the remote jungles of Costa Rica, paddle down crocodile-infested waters, navigate through bat infested caves, and hang 200 feet above the rain forest floor as they descend down one of the most majestic waterfalls all in the hope of finding that special someone.
During an elimination unlike anything seen before, the couples will come together to reveal whether a connection has formed with their current partner -- or if they would like to switch and get to know someone else. At the end of every episode, two heartbroken singles will be sent home. The series will culminate with one couple left standing, who will have completed the adventure of a lifetime and found the one thing they've been looking for - "Love in the Wild." The series is produced by Endemol USA. Tom Shelly serves as executive producer. Liz Shulze, Eric Gardner and Mark Allen are co-executive producers.

NBC ANNOUNCES SERIES PREMIERE OF NEW NBC COMEDY 'THE PAUL REISER SHOW' ON APRIL 14
Series Features Reiser as -- Paul Reiser -- Who Ponders Next Career Move After Conclusion of His Hit TV Series
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - March 22, 2011 -- NBC announced that "The Paul Reiser Show," a new comedy series starring Paul Reiser ("Mad About You," "Aliens"), will premiere on Thursday, April 14 (8:30-9 p.m. ET).
NBC's "The Paul Reiser Show" is a new single-camera comedy from Emmy and Golden Globe Award-nominated actor/writer/producer Reiser and writer/producer Jonathan Shapiro ("Life").
The show stars Reiser as -- Paul Reiser. It's been a few years since his hit TV series went off the air. Since then, he's been enjoying the quiet life at home with his lovely wife, Claire (Amy Landecker, "A Serious Man"), and kids and generally minding his own business, writing and producing television but enjoying life out of the spotlight. Getting him into trouble -- and into adventures -- are a group of new "friends," most of which he didn't choose since they're the husbands of his wife's friends and the dads of his kids' classmates. Thrown together by circumstance, Reiser and his cohorts, including Jonathan (Ben Shenkman, "Angels in America"), Habib (Omid Djalili,"The Infidel"), Fernando (Duane Martin, "All of Us") and Brad (Andrew Daly, "MADtv"), form an unlikely comradeship -- and a pretty lame basketball team.
"The Paul Reiser Show" is a production of Bonanza Productions Inc., in association with Nuance Productions and Warner Bros. Television. Reiser and Shapiro co-wrote the pilot as well as each of the episodes that follow and both serve as executive producers. Bryan Gordon ("Curb Your Enthusiasm") directed the pilot.
As a seasoned actor, writer, and standup comedian, Reiser continues to add to his list of accomplishments. In addition to co-creating and starring in the critically acclaimed NBC series "Mad About You," which garnered him Emmy, Golden Globe, American Comedy Award and Screen Actors Guild nominations for Best and Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series, his successes also include his book "Couplehood," which sold over two million copies and reached the #1 spot on The New York Times bestseller list. In addition, "Babyhood," his follow-up book which features his trademark humorous take on the adventures of being a first-time father, also made "The New York Times" bestseller list.
Born and raised in New York City, Reiser went to college at the State University of New York at Binghamton where he majored in Music - Piano and Composition. (He co-wrote "The Final Frontier" - the theme song from "Mad About You" with Grammy-winning producer Don Was).

8:00PM THE VOICE (all-new, through June 28)
[America's Got Talent airs 9-11pm as previously announced.]
This programmation is very weird and seems very unlilekely.
After the 4 Battle Round episodes (starting May 10th), the live shows will feature a TOP 16, a TOP 12, a TOP 8 and a finally TOP 4.
(according to an nbc press release, one contestant from each coach is eliminated each week during the live shows).
How can a TOP 16 and a TOP 12 be featured in an 1-hour long episode ?
And, where are the results shows ??
I seriously think that the NBC Summer Schedule is going to change again !
mtlguy 05-01-2011, 12:20 AM The battle are in teams, so there isn't 16 performances, 12 and so on...There is 2 teams against each other.
NBC needs to keep The Voice for the summer with performance show / results show and to move America's Got Talent to the fall !
NBC doesn't need to have 2 hits during the summer and nothing for the fall !
Plus, America's Got Talent could be a great lead-in for the new fall shows !
What do you think of this :
Monday
America's Got Talent - 2 hour
NEW DRAMA
Tuesday
The Biggest Loser - 1 hour

Wednesday

Harry's Law

Mr. Television 05-15-2011, 05:11 PM Yea I saw the schedule a couple of hours ago. It looks just awful. I'm glad Chuck is going to be able to end properly but otherwise, I won't be watching much NBC next season.
mgsports 05-15-2011, 05:38 PM No 30 Rock in it,Brian Williams new Show and Saturday's need to have new Shows.
Mr. Television 05-15-2011, 05:41 PM No 30 Rock in it,Brian Williams new Show and Saturday's need to have new Shows.
30 Rock is being held until mid-season because Tina Fey is pregnant.
Brent88 05-15-2011, 06:03 PM It is an absolutely horrendous schedule... of all the possibilities I thought of for NBC, that was the worst imaginable. Mondays and Tuesdays is DOA, the Wednesday comedies against X-Factor, ABC comedies, and Survivor with no support will be dead, Harry's Law will squander its potential at 9pm, and Community should never start any night ever again. Overall a horrible horrible schedule.

Overall a horrible horrible schedule.I agree. Every year I think SURELY they will come up with a better schedule; but they never do. It gets worse, and the ratings will. I'm not confident the management has had/will have any effect on NBC. They will continue to be 4th. Such a shame considering the powerhouse they were in the 80s, 90s, and in to the 2000s.
NBC gets an F for big fat FAIL from me. The last show I watched on there was America's Next Great Restaurant, and it's not even coming back.
Mr. Television 05-16-2011, 07:51 PM I'm waiting for ABC and CBS to come out with their schedules. NBC and Fox has really been ho humm.
Cyrax 06-18-2011, 07:36 AM Friends With Benefits is airing from Friday, August 5th at 8 pm through September 9th, according to The Futon Critic (double episodes each Friday).
