According to an article in the May 7, 2010 edition of "Entertainment Weekly" 4 60 minute pilots are under consideration for the WTBS 10:00PM eastern lead in slot for the new "Conan O'Brien" show. TBS is spending big bucks in order to be a real condenter for viewers and ratings which translates to dollars.

I have and seen two of the 4 pilots and I think Mark-Paul's has a very good shot at a pick-up. It is called "Franklin & Bash" it follows two streetwise lawyers (Breckin Meyer (Robot Chicken) & Gosselaar) who join a high-profile firm. It pushes the boundaries that TBS usually broadcasts including a shot of Gosselaar's butt.

The other I saw I actually enjoyed a bit more, but it is a 5 day week with five 10PM's to fill.....it is called "In Security" and stars "Superman Returns'" Brandon Routh and centers on a sibling-owned private-security firm with lots of inside Hollywood humor.

The other pilots up for consideration (but I have not seen them) are "Uncle Nigel" starring Gary Cole as a Philly police detective and "Glory Daze" about four freshman who rush a Wisconsin fraternity.

According to todays blog (5/14/10) Pav says TBS has picked up "Glory Daze", as I said I didn't see "Glory Daze" but I guess with its' nostalgic premise, it is a period piece, so since "Mad Men" was such a success for AMC, I guess this seems like a good bet on the part of TBS. But I think at least one of the other 3 pilots will be also be picked up.

UPDATE: 5/14/10 7:00PM eastern...Mark-Paul series even though was developed for TBS has been picked up by TNT. Way to go!
