View Full Version : Tootie is the only character to appear in all 209 episodes of The Facts of Life
James28 05-14-2010, 01:44 AM Tootie Ramsey may have been the only character to appear on all 209 episode of The Facts of Life. Lisa Whelchel refused to do one episode in Season 9, and I have discovered that Mindy Cohn was also missing from a Season 7 episode. Let me know if Kim Fields's character was absent from any episode.
zypherix 05-14-2010, 07:41 AM "Something in Common" from season nine, and I dont think she had any speaking part in "Jo's Cousin" from season three, but she is seen.
James28 05-14-2010, 06:08 PM Was Mindy Cohn absent from any episode other than that Season 7 episode? The same question goes for Lisa Whelchel and the Season 9 episode?
Johnny be good! 08-21-2010, 10:47 AM Nope, those were the only episodes they were absent from.
BigManMike 06-26-2011, 08:58 PM Was Jo absent from any episodes other than Season 1?
OldBiddy 06-26-2011, 11:26 PM Does anyone know why Mindy missed that episode in Season 7?
Nancy did not appear in Season 6 episode My Boyfriend's Back (aired October 24th, 1984) or in Season 6 episode Smile (aired December 5th, 1984). She had a contract dispute at the beginning of Season 6 and missed the first two episodes that were filmed. They were not the first two episodes that aired as you can tell by the dates.

It was explained that Jo was spending time with her mom.
Chairhood 10-17-2012, 10:00 PM Nope, those were the only episodes they were absent from.
Mindy Cohn did not appear in the pilot episode.
Johnny be good! 10-19-2012, 10:29 PM Mindy Cohn did not appear in the pilot episode.
That was a Diff'rent Strokes episode.
ThomasE 10-19-2012, 11:43 PM That was a Diff'rent Strokes episode.
You are correct about that.
Johnny be good! 10-20-2012, 11:42 AM Indeed. And in the actual first broadcast episode of FOL, Mindy was indeed there.

How can the pilot episode of show X not be an episode of show X?
Johnny be good! 10-22-2012, 11:37 PM Undetermined. I'm not an expert on that.
James28 04-19-2014, 12:55 AM Is there any reason why Natalie (Mindy Cohn) didn't appear in the "The Lady That Came to Dinner" episode? Same thing for Tootie not appearing in "Something in Common"?
I know why Blair didn't appear in the "The First Time" episode: The episode's storyline was against Ms. Whelchel's religious beliefs.

That's a gray area. "The Girls School" was not an episode of FOL, it was an episode of DS that was hoping to launch into a new series, FOL.
So technically it's a DS episode, and not FOL. After all, in syndication packages and DVD sets, "The Girls School" is only included with DS, as it is an episode of that series.
80s Dude 05-02-2020, 06:18 PM The episode that Kim missed was because she had entrance exams for Pepperdine. Not sure of the reason for Mindy's missed episode.
ThomasE 05-03-2020, 01:53 AM What was the episode that Kim missed?

"Something in Common".
It was shortened from the full original title, "Something in Common for Everyone Except Tootie, Who's Not in This One".
