One of baseball's guiltiest pleasures is sneaking in a nap when you're watching weekend baseball on the couch. New York Mets announcer Keith Hernandez apparently shares my belief because he snuck in a self-described "cat nap" during the extra innings of Saturday's 5-4 win over the San Francisco Giants.

I can't say that I blame Mr. Mustache for taking some quick shuteye because announcing so many games per year as a member of a great broadcasting team has to get tiring.

Also, I wonder if he and Henry Blanco(notes) got together for a snooze after the latter's walk-off blast. Hank White, after all, is known to enjoy a good nap as much as anyone.

Sweet dreams, fellas!

LOL I read a story yesterday about Ken Griffey Jr. walking back to the clubhouse during a game and falling asleep. Is baseball really this boring?

ELAINE: Well so what. I mean you played first base. I mean they always put the worst player on first base. That's were they put me and I stunk.

KEITH HERNANDEZ: Elaine. you don't know the first thing about first base.

ELAINE: ha ha well I know something about getting to first base. And I know you'll never be there.

KEITH: The way I figure it I've already been there and I plan on rounding second tonight at around eleven o'clock.

ELAINE: Well, uh, I'd watch the third base coach if I were you 'cause I don't think he's gonna be waving you in.

Statler and Waldorf are old enough to have done the play-by-play for the Indians during Custer's last stand.
