I'm sure it's an exaggeration -- after all, it is TV -- but families are like that.

Recently, I was talking with a friend who lives across the street from her parents in a house with her two kids. She said "It's like 'Everybody Loves Raymond.'"

I replied, "Your Mom isn't like Marie."

She shot back, "A friend of mine was shoveling the walkway for me and she called to say 'There's a man shoveling your driveway!"

Yes it's based on his real life. He has a brother who's a cop and his Frank was most like his father.
