I own the 2 hour pilot (transferred to DVD from the VHS print) as well as the first two seasons.......why isn't the movie syndicated in reruns with the series?

That is odd. Usually they just edit them into two separate hour segments and put opening/closing credits.

The only other thing I can think of is that maybe the two hour pilot was aired the season before the series started?? If that's the case, it may not be considered part of the first season.

Many hour shows had two hour pilots so that if the series wasn't picked up, they could still air the unsold pilot as a "movie of the week."

Yes, it aired the season before...but still odd and also odd that it wasn't included as a bonus with the first season DVD.

Well, that explains it. Technically, they didn't have to include as it's not part of the first season, but they should have as a bonus, you're right.
