I really liked this show. I liked the old Gidget too, but The New Gidget holds fond 80s memories for me. I wish I could remember a specific plot of an episode. If any of you do, how about refreshing my memory:

I mostly remember the pilot movie, "Gidget's Summer Reunion," where she was planning Jeff's 30th birthday party, and they were all stressed out about money because they had such a big mortgage on their house. The niece was played by a different actress in the pilot than in the series (same for Larue).

Yes! I remember this show. I discovered it for the first time in the summer of 1991 when WPIX and WGN were airing the repeats. I immediately took a liking to it because it was a fun show that often took place near the beach, it was a more modern version of Gidget, and most importantly because I had a serious crush on Sydney Penny, who played Gidget's niece Dani. Amazingly, I can't remember very much about it, but I think it only lasted two seasons, and I thought I remembered Dani modeling in one episode. There was also a girl named Gail who always wore hats (hmm, wonder where they got that idea from...).

I wish somebody would show some episodes again...

But I don't remember what the sitcom's were about. I too wish that they would bring it back to t.v.

I remember watchiing this show in the 80's. It doesn't compare to the original Gidget, but I liked it.

I watched it like it was going out of style, but can't remember much about the episodes. :(
