Demond Wilson played the role of Lamont so well he just made me laugh.
Especially when I see him interacting with his girlfirends and Sanford gets nosy, Lamont always makes me laugh.
I loved the episode of Lamont almost getting married to an older woman and Sanford and his friend enters the clothing store to get nosy (to see Lamont's girlfriend) they think it's the young gal but it's her mother. That Sanford was a hoot. :happyface

I love that episode. Grady looked so silly in that afro wig.

Demond Wilson was the perfect straight man. Being a straight man is kind of a thankless job, because someone else (Redd Foxx) gets most of the laughs, but he did it very well.

He did do it well. I haven't seen the series in ages but lately I've been watching it.
So I'm studying it more closely. It was a great show.
Did Demond Wilson's acting get worse during the later seasons? Basically, any episode in which Lamont is either (or the combination) wearing shades, has his hair in an s-curl, and has his mustache trimmed. I don't know if this had to do w/ Demond's substance abuse issues or he was simply getting sick of doing the show, but Lamont seemed more "wobbly" and/or "sedate"/"low-key" most of the time.

My guess is that it's a combination of both.
