Does anyone know what happen to the cat Fluffy? It was the first episode & never seen again strange how Coral and the girls didn't keep there cat

I always figured Fluffy stayed behind at Grandma & Grandpa Tyler's house since Tiger scared her. The stranger thing is that Carol's parents are never seen or refered to again.

They, or maybe Mike's parents, were referred to both in "Katchoo", when it was thought that Tiger would have to move there because of Jan's allergy to him, and in "Father of the Year", when Marcia was told that she'd have to stay w/ her grandparents while the rest of the family went skiing.

I think I read somewhere that Fluffy did not accept the role past the pilot, cause she wanted to keep her options open. About that time she was up for the role of Morris' girlfriend in those catfood commercials.

Except Morris didn't accept her as a co-star because he was too finicky!

An intresting side note, is that although it is known that two cats played fluffy, they were selected from a group of 35 and nobody knows which two were actaully used.

I cannot think of many plot lines for a cat. Perhaps they had exhusted all of Fluffys potential storylines and decided to rest the character. I do not think cats train as easily as dogs either.

Only our imaginations can decide what really happenned to fluffy. I like to think he was peacefully given to one of the neighbors and not that an accident befell poor fluffy :D

Although I might come off as being a little nit-picky about this, I am going to state that I think that fluffy was a she.

I don't understand what the big mystery is!!!! Fluffy, who was a she, didn't go with Carol and the girls, when they moved into Mike's house. She stayed back with the grandparents, and lived happily ever after, away from Tiger.

"Morris" began starring in cat food commercials in 1969, the same year TBB started. (And that was the first cat they used! Which died in 1978, by the way.)

The first Morris died in 1978 and was subsequently replaced by two more cats who played "Morris." All three of the "Morris the Cat" cats were rescued from shelters.

The original Morris reigned as king of the kitty commercials from 1969 until he was dethroned by death in 1975.

Now that I think about it, maybe poor Fluffy didn't "live happily ever after". Tiger's the one that disappeared, (I think in season 2) with no explanation. Did he end up at Grandma & Grandpa's house too? Poor Fluffy!

Fluffy hooked up with one of the Tribbles from Star Trek, and they had a baby together....

Well I did watch both of those shows as a child so maybe they have affected how I think!

I'd always heard that the two of them staged a joint holdout, figuring that the producers simply would HAVE to meet their demands, or else produce the show without them. Sure enough, they both ended up waiting tables, always hoping for that next big break...sadly, it never happened. :crying:

In the commentary for the pilot Schwartz hints at why Fluffy wasn't in the series, he talks about how hard it was to get the cat to do what it was supposed to do.

I LOVED Fluffy!!!! One of the reasons the first/pilot ep. was one of my favorites!!!! Fluffy was my favorite type of cat, an orange tabby!!!! Wish they would have kept him in the show!!!
