I saw this episode uncut on You Tube, where Opie wants more money after meeting a spoiled boy. It is even shown described this way on TV Land on my cable guide, but the station AFAIK has never aired it. Is this because of the episode's negative behavior theme why TV Land refuses to show it?

That's one of the 16 episodes from the third season that fell into the public domain but I'm not certain if that has anything to do with it.

when I used to watch TV LAND (back in their "classic" days-now I don't even know what number it is on our system; I haven't watched it in so long) they used to show it, so I'm sure that's not the reason.

I think I saw it on Tvland sometime in April 2010. I thought the one they would not show is the one where Andy and Barney encourage him to fight the kid thats taking his milk money and he gets into a fight with the kid and kicks his ass.

It was a fun ep and that little brat should have gotten a gotten a good whuppin (or my style, a loss of a bike and let him scream til he's blue in the face). And maybe let him know that if he keeps up the tantrum another toy will get taken away & donated to charity.

Now that one I have seen. That's a good one! Andy teaches Opie how to stand up for himself, but cautions him not to go around picking fights. What actually happens in the tag, is Opie actually gets a black eye, but is no longer intimidated by the bully. (He finally rufuses to give the kid his milk money.) That's the one with the last line, "A sandwich sure tastes better with milk."
