catlover79 04-30-2010, 10:18 PM Did a little research - Catherine and Peter would've celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary in August. Their daughters are ages 14 and 11 - so young to lose a parent and in such a horrible way. :(

Dukes of Hazard star, Catherine Bach's husband, Peter Lopez was found dead Friday morning by his house, apparently from a self-inflicted gun shot wound.
Friends and family of the entertainment lawyer are, not surprisingly, reeling from the news - saying that he showed no outward signs of depression, and trying to fathom what would tip him over the edge to the degree where he would choose to take his own life.
RadarOnline.com spoke exclusively with Lopez's mother, Eleanor, who told us, "I just can't believe it. Catherine called me just now, she said, 'Peter is dead.'
"Catherine said to me, 'Peter's not here anymore, he shot himself.' I can't believe it.
"I just can't believe it, I spoke to him just last night and he seemed fine. I've been in and out of the hospital lately and he has been calling me every night to check on me and make sure I'm OK.
"He never said anything about feeling depressed or anything, I just don't understand this at all.
"He may have had some business problems, he's been going in and out for years with this business of his and, you know, enjoying his work, so why would he do this?
"He liked his work and I used to tell him about programs that I’ve seen of some of his clients. This is not right.
"Catherine is falling apart. I don’t blame her. She’s in shock.
"She says he went up a hill up there. You go up and there’s a platform and you can see the Valley, you know, from the house up there in the backyard. There’s like a viewing spot up there. She says he went up there and he shot himself. I cannot believe it, you know.
"Catherine wasn't there when it happened, she said she came back she couldn’t find him and he was up there on the hill.
"I feel so bad for his girls you know. They loved him so much. They were at school when it happened. Catherine went to go and get them. I just can’t believe this."
John Schneider, who played Bo Duke on the hit 80's show, rushed to his co-star's side as soon as he heard the news. In an exclusive interview with RadarOnline.com he echoed Lopez's mom's disbelief at the tragedy.
"I saw him only 3 weeks ago, and he seemed fine," Schneider said. "Never underestimate the hard times that we are in, especially if you are a parent.
"I really want to go home and hug my wife and kids."
Neighbors are just as shocked, Mitchell Litt who lives nearby and is friends with the couple tells RadarOnline.com, "There were no signs at all of him being depressed, it is very sad, just very very tragic.
“They are both great people, both Catherine and Peter and this is just very very sad, that's all I can really say.""
catlover79 05-01-2010, 10:36 PM It doesn't surprise me that John Schneider would drop everything to be by his co-star's side at a situation like this. He is a Christian and an all-around good guy. God bless everyone involved in this situation...Catherine, her daughters and parents-in-law...I feel so sorry for them. God willing, beauty will come from the ashes.

LOS ANGELES – A successful entertainment attorney who was married to actress Catherine Bach was found dead in an apparent suicide Friday, coroners officials said.
Peter Lopez, 60, died of a gunshot wound at his home in the Encino Hills, coroner's office operations chief Craig Harvey said.
A neighbor reported hearing a shot and someone at the home found Lopez's body, coroners officials said.
Bach and her two daughters suffered a "tragic personal loss," said her publicist, Steve Rohr.
Bach played Daisy Duke in the 1980s TV series "The Dukes of Hazzard."
Lopez was Michael Jackson's music attorney for several years, according to Alfred Newman, a spokesman for the firm Lopez helped found, Kleinberg Lopez Lange Cuddy & Klein. He also represented The Eagles, Andrea Bocelli and Michael Buble.
"We are deeply shocked and saddened by the unexpected loss of our friend and partner," the firm said in a statement.
Lopez worked with singers, record producers and songwriters and was a co-producer of the Jennifer Lopez film "Selena," a biopic about the beloved Tejano singer who was killed by the president of her fan club.
Raymone Bain, Michael Jackson's former general manager, said she hired Peter Lopez in 2006 as Jackson's entertainment attorney when she was reorganizing the singer's business affairs.
"I'd known Peter for 20 years," she said. When she was searching for a new legal team she said another of her clients, R&B singer Babyface, recommended Lopez.
"I can't think of a nicer individual," she said. "He was a good guy. I'm just so shocked."
She said Lopez traveled with her and Jackson to London for the World Music Awards and spoke to the singer quite often.
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger appointed Lopez to the California State Athletic Commission, which regulates boxing, and as the director of the California Exposition and State Fair Board.
Lopez attended UCLA Law School.

Retro4Life 05-02-2010, 01:58 AM Her husband looks a bit like Michael Zaslow, doesn't he?
At any rate, such a tragedy. I've never experienced someone committing suicide, but I imagine it's a very particular type of anguish, and such a terrible waste.
My best to all involved, including the poor soul who took his life.

I've never experienced someone close to me committing suicide either but I think your right that it's a kind of anguish that's unique in its depth and hurtfulness which is why Catherine Bach and her daughters are in my prayers and will continue to be.

Yeah, I can see a bit of resemblance there.
