New Hampshire Colt May Be World's Smallest Einstein Weighs 6 Pounds, Stands 14 Inches Tall
A new colt in New Hampshire could be galloping into the record books as the smallest horse ever. The playful Einstein stands as tall as a small dog, but is clearly a horse. His owner said that when he was born, they thought Einstein was too small to be alive. "At first he didn't move very much -- and we started rubbing him with a towel and he started to move around and we thought, 'Oh he's so small!'" said Charlie Cantrell. Weighing in at just 6 pounds and standing 14 inches tall, Einstein was far smaller at birth than the reigning smallest horse. The current world record holder was born weighing 9 pounds. The tiny horse also has the distinction of being small but healthy. Unlike most extremely small horses, Einstein isn't a dwarf but is a normally proportioned horse that just happens to be very, very small. His owners haven’t said whether they will breed him or not.
