Cary Elwes Confirmed for "Saw 3D", Full Synopsis and Cast!

We've been hearing rumors that both Cary Elwes and Monica Potter would be returning in Lionsgate's Saw 3D - the seventh film in the franchise - but haven't been able to get any surefire confirmation.

This evening Lionsgate released the "revealed" cast listing, which confirms that Elwes will in fact be returning as "Dr. Lawrence Gordon" in the Kevin Greutert directed sequel penned once again by Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton.


Still no word on if Potter will return as "Alison Gordon", but below we've got the rest of the cast and the official synopsis.

Saw VII 3D opens against Paranormal Activity 2 on October 22.

Some press materials for the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con have crossed my path...and it appears Lionsgate is taking Saw VII to the event with some goodies for the fans.


Here's the real news: When the film arrives in theaters it won't be called Saw VII. The new title is now Saw 3D: The Traps Come Alive, obviously to sensationalize the mayhem director Kevin Greutert has created.

Our reps at the studio have confirmed this is the new title.




The film opens in theaters on October 22.
Those who attend the Comic-Con panel will get to see the first footage from the sequel.

After the hefty blow thrown by Paranormal Activity last October, Lionsgate has stepped it up a notch (or ten) with an impressive marketing campaign for Saw 3D, said to be the final film in the franchise arriving in theaters October 29.

After several years, several movies, and hundreds of traps, Jigsaw's games will finally come to an end on October 29th when Lionsgate releases Kevin Greutert's Saw 3D in theaters everywhere.


Twisted Pictures producers confirmed that this is the final Saw, therefore what we have for you is something quite special.




Inside you'll find Bloody Disgusting and MySpace Horror's exclusive look at the final Saw 3D poster, which can also be considered the very last Saw poster ever.

Apparently in Saw 3D, we get a better look at those who have escaped Jigsaw's traps. Not that we haven't seen survivors before. There was Amanda (Shawnee Smith) and Tanedra Howard (Simone); but apparently the seventh and final chapter opens the scope a little more.


Newcomer to the series, Sean Patrick Flanery plays a Jigsaw survivor named Bobby Dagen, and in the film, he's touting a new book, which you see in the photo below.
