Many announcements were made about Dick Van Dyke appearing in the Brendan Fraser-Brooke Shields movie, "Furry Vengeance." But in trailers for the movie, and on the ImDB movie database, there is no sight or mention of Dick in the motion picture. Did his scenes go on the cutting room floor, like they did in the "Night at the Museum" sequel?
In the following link, featuring an audio interview with Fraser and Shields, it is revealed why Dick didn't appear in the movie after all.

From the conversation:
"Dick Van Dyke was tapped to play the psychiatrist in the picture, but had to pass due to family health concerns; Wallace Shawn stepped in."
Michelle Triola must have turned for the worst during the same time that Dick's scenes were to be filmed.
