Apparently, it did not make it outside of the eastern time zone, and was not reaired as scheduled
all censoring was done by CC at the last minute and they banned it from appearing on the south park website..
LysdahlLover 04-22-2010, 12:58 PM Well, once again, though I'm sure *NOT* for the last time, COMEDY CENTRAL, :yousuck: :mooner: :angryfire !!!
MrCleveland 04-22-2010, 02:21 PM Looks like this ep will have to be seen on DVD so we can see it! ohno:
I was reading up about Comdey Central's decision to censor last night's epsiode and then I watched the episode on my DVR, and I was thinking...
Is it possible that the bleeping out of even the word Mohammed in last night's episode was part of the joke?

Nope. :(
As Jon Stewart pointed out last nignt on THE DAILY SHOW, they simply wussed out in the face of the death threats.
As I said before, they're a bunch of :kitties: s.

Yeah, I read that comedy central made all the extra bleeps. It just that all the speeches at the end of the episode were one long bleep - it was so silly I thought it had to be a joke.

It was unintentionally funny, rather than intentionally so. ;)
I don't have any doubt that the bleeping was at the behest of their legal department, rather than an actual plot device, and the only intention they had was to cover their ass.
When the uncensored version finally comes out on DVD, I'm sure we'll find that the speeches at the end were all saying that people shouldn't wuss out in the face of death threats, making Comedy Central's censoring of them even more disgustingly ironic, rather than just a bunch of expletives strung together.
Nonetheless, the censoring definitely generated more publicity for the show, so I'm sure Matt and Trey aren't complaining too much. Kinda like when SNL bleeped out 75% of Sam Kinison's comedy act, and everybody ended up wondering "What the f**k did he say?"

Something tells me this episode either won't make it to DVD or will appear even on DVD censored. I feel like boycotting Comedy Central

Did the other Muhammed episode they did, back in 2006, come out on DVD?
If so, could you actually see the Muhammed character, or was he censored just like in the original airing? I would love to see what the character looked like.

I don't remember. I don't have the dvd set for that season. I'm pretty sure I saw the episode when it aired but I don't remember what Mohammed looked like. Ironic thing is no one said anything about it then.
Dr. Thong 04-23-2010, 09:30 PM I'm getting tired of these radical extremist groups threatening free speech with death threats.
I'm no fan of South Park, but they have the right to express whatever viewpoint they like. If these freaks don't like what the show's creators are saying or putting forward, let them express their outrage like everyone else does -- through the media. THey have the right to their opinion and point of view -- but not to threaten with killing
If I don't agree with someone's viewpoint on TV, I simply don't watch. Why waste time and angry up the blood?
Cactus Jack 05-08-2010, 12:36 PM LOL yeah they pussied out
(although can you imagine if they didnt and Matt and tRey actually got killed? That would be bigger than Michael Jackson's death for me :( )
Dr. Thong 05-08-2010, 08:50 PM There would also be a rash of people saying "THEY KILLED TREY PARKER AND MATT STONE! YOU BASTARDS!"

Thats true!
Dr. Thong 05-09-2010, 10:53 AM Thats true!
And in a weird way, I think they'd want it that way. You know that T-shirts would pop up with that saying on them, because people have a black sense of humor.
Blackout 01-27-2012, 02:12 AM we will never get to see this uncensored :(
you would THINK matt and trey would just leak it illegally lol
