As much as I usually can't stand Mike, there is one aspect of him that I can identify with...

Am I the only one here who actually eats like Mike? :-P I mean, constantly eating to the point where it's almost gluttony, even when you're supposedly too pissed off/depressed to eat?

I'm the same way, but have been trying to cut back so I can lose weight.

To me he ate like a slob.

My brother eats like he did. Funny, my other brother yells at him for it. Like Archie!

I like his character (even though I dont share his political viewpoints), but I sure dont eat like him. If I did I would be as big as a house.

Of course he ate like that.....Archie was the one paying for it all! Funny how someone could slow down on food or anything else when they have to start buying it. Even when he FINALLY did get a job in the later episodes it seems Mike was over at the Bunkers eating all the time. This was without Gloria more often as time went on. I will even eat more when it's not my dime.

Take a look at Rob Reiner these days in real life. Many shows incorporate characteristics of the actors into the roles. I wouldn't be surprised if Reiner was like that off-camera and they just decided to incorporate it into Mike.
