I don't know how many people here have bought this DVD, but I have to say, it is a must for Lucy fans. It really is a very funny episode. First, it is shot on tape, a first for Lucy at the time. But, without giving away any details, it is funny and sadly, Lucy & Vivian's last time together. But they went out with a bang.

Did anyone understand why, of all people, Ed McMahon played Lucy's husband? That was odd casting....

I bought this but haven't opened it up yet (heck, I still haven't opened Season 2 of Here's Lucy, and I've only watched 2 episodes and the bonus features of Season 1).

I wasn't really interested in any of MPI's Lucy specials so far, but I've heard so many good things about this one, I snapped it up for a good price on eBay. Hopefully it doesn't disappoint.

I just saw this special and of MPIs selection this is the best for fans of Lucy as Lucy. Lucy looks as she does lots of visual comedy and the script gives Lucy, Mary Wikes, Viv, and Gale great lines. Mary Jane steals one of her scenes. Most of this special is very believeable which makes it funny and classic. I don't know why nine years later the scripts for Life With lucy weren't like this special. If they were, I bet Life With Lucy would at least lasted for all its 22? contracted shows. I only seen three Life With Lucy now taken off Youtube. The first one had Lucy being great on a chair, jogging, and it was like Lucy was Mame. Someone never too old to have fun at work. However, I hate the part of Lucy alphabetizing the Bs and her supporting cast except for Gale was not that great. It didn't have the family closeness of the better Lucy Shows or Here's Lucys. I like the part of the Guard Goose with Lucy trying to get it out of the kitchen and them being attacked by it. It was very realistic. Lucy's Green Thumb was the worst Lucy show I ever saw. Totally unrealistic and not funny.

Talk about unrealistic, how about that episode where John Ritter swallows a harmonica, and Lucy starts playing a tune by poking his stomach. And they both laugh. I think if I swallowed a harmonica, first of all, you wouldn't be hearing it playing from inside my stomach. And second, I wouldn't be laughing; I'd be headed straight to the emergency room!
