on "Diff'rent Strokes",Widower Phillip Drumond got married again(big mistake),which actress do you think played his new wife Maggie better-The late Dixie Carter or Mary Ann Mobley? And when they used that new plotline, and made the changes, were Conrad Bain,Gary Coleman,Todd Bridges and the late Dana Plato in favor of the plotline, the changes or were they all against the plotline and the changes? And finally, why did they move the show from NBC to ABC?(The NBC episodes ,in my opinion, were a LOT better.)

I don't have a problem with him remarrying. He needed some companionship in the long run. I think the producers knew that and were trying to take the show in a new direction and keep things from getting stale.
Dixie or Mary Anne? Dixie's portrayal of Maggie was like a fish out of water. She played the fiesty southern Maggie very well and was sure of herself but was it right for Phillip? Maybe...or maybe not. MaryAnne's version seemed to mesh well with Phillip and showing a softer side however, MaryAnne's acting needed some work from what I've seen. The women was a beautifal southern belle but the acting came off as forced from time to time.
NBC actually canceled DS and ABC picked it up for their friday night schedule. ABC decided to cancel the renewal of "Three's A Crowd" in order to make room for "Diff'rent Strokes".
I hope this helps.

NBC canceled Diff'rent Strokes for two reasons, partially because they felt that Gary Coleman was asking for too much money for his role as Arnold, and partially because they felt that the show's popularity was waning.
