Hi kids:

I went back through the threads fairly far (I swear, I at least made an effort) but I couldn't find one that told the best way to get in touch with Dick Van Dyke. Does anybody know?

When I was 10 or 11, in 1970 or 1971 or so, I remember watching a lot of the episodes in syndication on one of the Boston stations (one of the higher-numbered ones that often came in snowy). Even at that age, I was particularly enthralled with Mary Tyler Moore, yet it was also obvious how well-written The Dick Van Dyke Show was, and how brilliant Dick was as a performer, and Morey and Rose Marie, etc.

Anyway, flash forward to 2010, when, having purchased the complete set last year, I'm finally making the time to see all the episodes, including ones I missed (I think I saw 75 percent back in the day, so there have been some nice surprises seeing whole new shows). I'm just finishing Season 4, so I figured I'd post now in the hopes that by the time I view the whole series I'll have an accurate address for Dick so I can send him a note on how much I enjoyed the show.

The Mary Tyler Moore Show will always be my favorite, but The Dick Van Dyke Show is just a fraction behind. I've posted a lot on TMTMS message board but only a few times on TDVDS board, because I've wanted to wait until I saw all the shows to really chime in, and that's not too far off now. But if somebody can help me on this, I'd appreciate it.

According to the fanmail.biz web site, this is the primary address for fans to write to DVD:

Dick Van Dyke
23215 Mariposa DeOro St.
Malibu, CA 90265

There is also a secondary address where you can write to DVD's agent at William Morris in Beverly Hills, but according to the latest reports, fans have received back signed autographs just by writing to the Malibu address.

For more information, see http://www.fanmail.biz/8381.html.

FYI, it took a few months, but a couple of weeks back I did receive an autograph from Dick Van Dyke, which was very nice. I used the Malibu address.

Not sure I'm ever gonna get to meet him in person, as I have Mary Tyler Moore, so it was nice to be able to write Dick and praise him for the show and to receive the autograph back, which meant he'd read my thank you.
